"Um?" Kurai hummed questioningly, glancing back at Miku. 'A problem?'

She smiled at him, glad that he was smart enough to already understand her, "Don't worry Sweetie, the address of the meeting changed, so I just didn't want us to do a long detour."

Akio came in his seat again, "All's good, I've told him already."

Kurai moved around the limousine to go near Akio, "...Where?"

'I guess it's the only solution I have for now, talking with single words until I have time to show them that I learned from somewhere.' Adaptability and acting were skills an assassin must have, among a plethora of others.

Even more so for Kurai, or Victor, his previous alias. Being one of the best, he had to hone his skills near perfection. Though now that he reincarnated he didn't look a lot like his former self, or not yet... Quirks must have more influence than what he would've thought at the beginning.

Akio looked down at him, he started smiling too, seeing his fast progress. 'Ain't he a genius like his dad, haha!'

He answered back with a kind tone, "We had to go to her personal residence but she said that she had to do some arrangements somewhere..."

"In a school!" He added excitedly.

'That's a red flag, homie, you matadoring it!' Kurai thought

Akio, seeing no reaction from him continued, "Ahem, anyway, you'll see other kids there, maybe even interact with some, during the time we give her the books." Miku chuckled on the side at her husband's antics.

Kurai could only nod, 'Interacting with kids of my age? You're asking a lot from a 1 day old human, heh.'

Miku came to his side, "Don't worry Sweetie, everything will be fine!"

"Un."

That's how Kurai spent his trip, listening to the discussion of the couple until they reached the elementary school mentioned previously.

"Like I said, Yaoyorozu fits him a lot!" Miku nearly shouted at her husband.

"Darling, listen to me calmly, it's not our right to—" He was interrupted by Kunishe who just opened the door for them.

"Anyway, we'll resume this at a later date." Akio finally stated before going out.

Miku followed him, pouting angrily "Mouh!"

Meanwhile Kurai didn't really care about their talk, he was busy thinking about tonight's outing. He nonetheless followed them out, albeit a bit more absentmindedly.

Miku took his hand to guide him, but he soon came out of his daze because of the kids shouting.

From afar, Kurai could see plenty of little kids in the school playground; some were busy playing cards, tag, or simply sport with a ball.

"See, you'll soon be in a school too and make plenty of friends!" Miku tugged his hand gently.

But Kurai looked at her reluctantly, shaking his head from left to right. 'Meh, I never went to school, and even if I could learn things since it's from a more futuristic world... It's not worth the time...'

'I would learn better and faster, alone, and all this without any nuisance.' He continuously shook his head to signal her just how much he didn't want to.

Miku stopped. "School is mandatory Sweetie... But we'll have this talk when you're of age. You'll see it's not that bad!"

She resumed her walk, "Anyway, come, we have to meet Ayaka-san! I have my favourite manga to share with her, fufufu!" She laughed.

The trio was approaching a periwinkle haired female no older than 30 years old who was currently scribbling things on her notebook.

Kurai thought she was quite a looker too, 'Dang, what's with this world? Most of the females I've met until now are straight 8 or 9 out of 10 by earth standards!'

'And this hair colour, same for her eyes... It's pretty atypical.' He eyed the woman's shape.

"Hello Ayaka-san!" Miku waved her hand while Akio only greeted her, she was only his wife's acquaintance after all. Kurai imitated him too.

The woman greeted her back. "Oh Miku-san! Good to see you too! Sorry for troubling you to come all the way here!"

"Don't worry it was on our way! Ahah!"

"Still... I received an urgent call from the commission to come and see this school! Tsk!" She clicked her tongue.

Miku laughed it off again to not make her guiltier, "Ahah! I understand Ayaka-san, work can be a pain sometimes!"

"Haha, yup. Anyway, here are the books!" She continued.

Meanwhile Akio was a bit far back, with Kurai, whom he took the hand of when Miku went to greet Ayaka.

"See, that's a women's talk for you! Ahah..." He said observing the 2 women talking about the manga.

'I know g, I know, it is a pain. But time passes faster if you're in a bed with both of them at your side, heh.' He mentally chuckled remembering his time.

Though on the outside, he nodded at Akio before turning his face to look at the kids playing further.

'Um?' The more he looked, the more he started noticing a few incongruities here and there.

'Now that I look at it more carefully...' Kurai analysed.

He then thought rhetorically, 'This is not how a playground is supposed to be divided right?'

He could clearly see now, how the kids with a more quirk 'mutant', a quirk which changed their features, were separated from others.

He sneered, 'Ostracizing people from a young age, huh?'

Sadly it couldn't be more true, with his own eyes he could see, dog, cat, or something else-boys and girls or any other deformities having a group apart from the other kids with, probably, emitting-type of quirks. And even in their 'mutant' group, everyone wasn't united, but smaller groups were created too.

What particularly stood out the most was the demi-humans kid being together, apart from the other 'mutants'. Still a few demi-human preferred to be alone from what he could see.

They were now all playing volleyball, and from what it looked like one team was composed of demi-humans. The other had only a single member. 'Huh, dark skin? Isn't this fun?' Kurai chuckled looking at that single girl playing against a whole team.

She was a white haired bunny girl, shorter than her peers, with red eyes. And like Kurai observed earlier, she had dark skin.

The bunny girl did a 2 meters high jump, which looked exceptional for her height and smashed the ball perfectly in the middle of the opposite field, leaving the other team rooted on their feet, incapable of even moving.

'Way to go girl, bravo!' Kurai appreciated the nice play of the single player team. Meanwhile the bunny girl celebrated with a big smile, maybe even taunting the enemy team, but Kurai was too far to hear her.

'Looks like a rabbit quirk, hum? Maybe that's where the big jump came from.'

Akio was the only bored in the group, the women were actively talking to each other while Kurai was watching the game, or the single-handedly beat down.

From Kurai's point of view the opposite team wanted to bully that bunny girl, unfortunately she was way stronger than their whole group.

'Looks like the game ended.'

The group of demi-humans opposing the bunny girl were probably too embarrassed to remain on the field, suffering a crushing defeat under everyone's eyes. So Kurai turned his attention away from the dark-skin girl's boisterous laugh to Miku, 'I should start to call her Mom, huh?' He looked down at his body.

He didn't have a problem doing that, even if Miku was very close to his age before death, his actual body was 4 years old. And it's not like, until now, she didn't completely fulfil her role. For him, calling her mom at this moment was more a mark of respect than submission, or even too soon for love.

---

Meanwhile, Ayaka was confused. She saw a purple haired boy with golden eyes looking solemnly at them, "Who's that cute little boy next to your husband?"

Miku didn't even need to glance back to see who she was referring to, immediately, she smiled. "He's my son, Kurai."

"Son?!" Ayake was even more confused, she couldn't help but exclaim bewildered.

"But he has a darker skin tone!"

"I know, I know, isn't he cute? Ahaha! Anyway, we decided to adopt him!"

Ayaka nodded, understanding, "...I see, it would've been bad to leave such a cute boy alone."

"Un!"

Miku continued, looking back at him this time, "He's our sunshine!"

Meanwhile Kurai could see Miku glancing at him lovingly, so he smiled at her the best he could.

Which provided him 2 'Kyas' back at him from both women. 'Heh, looks like I still have it in me, and Yoruichi's looks help too. Or should I say my new look?'

After the long talk, Miku handed the manga to Ayaka. "Here Ayaka-san, we have to go now, we still have a long way back home."

"Don't worry it's totally fine Miku-san! And thanks again for the book!" She did a small bow to thank her again.

The family followed suit before leaving toward their car. Though before leaving, Kurai couldn't help but eye a last time Ayaka and the small bunny girl, now alone in the playground, seemingly eating a weird candy.

He soon found again the comfort of the limousine, sitting on the seat next to Miku. 'Aaah...so good.'

The more or less 'heated' talk about his name continued during the trip but Kurai fell asleep during the whole thing. It looked like his cat's behaviour rubbed too much on his human one.

It's only a few hours later that he woke up in his bed. Tucked in and everything.

'Um... Must be because my body changed too much in one day thanks to the quirk awakening.'

He got up, and stretched, not wanting to admit that his laziness during his cat time translated to his human body.

It was way past midnight, around 3am. Seeing the time Kurai grinned. 'Perfect!'

The darkness of the night was at its maximum during this time, and very few people were out in the street. It was the perfect time for him to go out once again.

All of a sudden he stopped breathing, steeling himself, unmoving. His concentration reached its peak.

*Pouf*

He transformed back to his cat form, "Heh, easy!" He chuckled out loud.

'Yikes I forgot about the voice change thingy, tsk.' While his performance in front of the doctor looked genuine, it was only a facade. No, He was exhausted after his 'cat-boy' transformation because it was a form between two others, but not to the point of losing his transformation. It was harder to maintain that much was true to him, and even if it seemed more natural to keep, it didn't mean it was easier.

And the amount of concentration before doing it was clearly different between back then and now, though he didn't know beforehand that a 'cat-boy' transformation was actually possible. 'Must be related to the quirks' power system, which mixed itself in my genes. And this is actually different from how the powers work in Yoruichi's world.' He theorized.

'Anyway, time to go out!' He agilely jumped out of the window.

Feeling the wind hitting his skin, no, his fur now, he couldn't help but feel amazing. He could now start to train for real with his human body and see how this relates to his cat form.

Because if he got to be honest, both forms were pretty useful to him, while the 'cat-boy' form was more aesthetic and instinctual than anything else.

'Maybe now that I have my body back I can learn Shunpo more easily.'

He stopped in his tracks, at the top of a building. It was the highest around. Marching forward a bit, he looked down, 20 meters separated him from the concrete.

But he wasn't feeling fear, no, very far from that... His blood was boiling, the thrill of testing something totally new with a human body was akin to a drug.

*Pouf*

Up until now he tried 3 times, and he got the hang of it, so he easily got his human form back. Purple hair swaying in the wind, cat-like golden eyes looking far into the horizon and beautiful dark skin, although he was young, his solemn expression right now looked very noble.

"Hum.." Inhaling a big chunk of air Kurai flexed his limbs.

At first nothing happened, but slowly he started sweating, his knuckles were even cracking under the now enhanced pressure from his new found strength.

More time passed, and then, as if a shock ran through his heart...

*Zap Zip*

Electrical current started flooding his bloodstream, starting from his core, his heart, down to the tip of his toe.

'Wow.'

At this moment, he knew, for real, the significance of 'being drunk on power'.

And it was only a simple activation.

He continued to sweat but he didn't want to stop now, electricity was even inhabiting his brain and eyes. His thought process was faster, his vision clearer and deeper. The electrical current, which was a part of his quirk given to him to replace Yoruichi's Kido, wasn't made for this. But those results were only side-effects.

'While I don't know if souls' brains produce electricity, we humans naturally do.'

And it was true, each action was a consequence of an electronic signal sent to the neurons. "This would help me a lot when I reach higher realms of speed!" He added, letting a maniacal grin escape.

Unfortunately, he had to stop, the fatigue was starting to become too much.

"This is only the start!" But that didn't stop him from laughing his lungs out.

'This feeling of power...Aah...' During the whole time, his grin was ever present.

He now truly started realising how much of an opportunity he had. How much possibilities this power had. And how deadly it was in his hands... 'Just perfect!'

Wiping the sweat out of his forehead, he looked down again.

Relaxing his muscles and tension, he exhaled a last time before jumping, his hands straight, body like a 'T', as if what would welcome him further down was water instead of concrete.

'Moment of the truth.' Was his last thought before closing his eyes during his dive.
