14 Field Experience and Tremors

In a dark alley, a villain with a mixture of strengthening quirk and mutation quirk which makes him look like a toad, is grabbing a person by his neck. There are two more people around the villain but they are dead. As he was going to finish the last one remaining, a sound came from behind, he quickly turned around to find a man, fully covered in a black protective suit and a helmet with jet black visor and fully armed was standing, nonchalantly.

"Hey, what's going on here?"-The man asked

The villain knew he had to run away as he clearly gathered attention, Not wasting any time, the villain threw the person in his hands away and lunged towards the armed man.

"This was not the answer I was expecting." As the armed man said this words, a silver flash passed through the neck of the villain who is still mid-air. After a moment, the head rolled off the body of villain and blood gushed out. The armed man with a katana having blood on it, in his hands slightly moves away as blood gushes out in his direction.

'Can't even have a decent conversation before fighting to death, not a good candidate for being a good villain.' The armed man thought while making an arc motion with the katana to clear the blood off the katana and put it back in the scabbard.

"You can call police by yourself, right?"-Shido

The man just remained silent in fear, thought Shido's next target will be him, he was shivering.

"Can I take your silence as yes?"-Shido

"..Y..Yes" The man said with fear.

"Good" Shido said this while giving a slight nod towards the man and jumped very high which is much higher than Mirko: The rabbit hero and landed on the roof. Shido started running and jumping around the roofs of the buildings around the city while killing any villain he encountered but left the ones who didn't commit any major crime like vandalism etc. He just broke one or two bones to restrict their movements, threaten them with a shotgun on their head or an RPG launcher or a grenade in their mouth etc. and left the scene.

Characterizing which villain deserves to be killed and which does not took a major part of his first day of being a vigilante. He thought of getting a source of information about the villains.

But still the harvest was good, the villains being average or below average, didn't took much time as they died in one or two katana slashes.

He went to a dark alleyway and changed his outfit to a large hoodie and baggy pants with a face bandana covering half of his face, he wandered a bit around an area far from his home, after some time spending randomly, he again changed his outfit and went to his home and entered.

He went to his room, he dequipped the outfit and wore his normal clothes from his wardrobe, he did all this avoid being captured in surveillance cameras or any person following him. He kept the outfits used in the vigilante job and anti-surveillance protocol inside his inventory, as he wants to keep the number of clues pointing towards him low to none.

He recalled every detail of his first day of being a vigilante to look for mistakes he may have made which can expose his identity. After failure to find any, he calls it a day and went to sleep.

The next morning, the entire Musutafu city was in shock and fear, as several dead bodies have been found around the city, totaling to 13 (excluding the first one as police already took his body, reported by the man saved from the villain.)

This caused a great tremors for the political circle as well law-enforcement agencies including heroes. After identifying the identities of the bodies, it was concluded that all the dead bodies are of villains, there were also a report of some people with broken bones found by police who confessed their crimes with fear clear on their face. But this report was overshadowed by the mass slaughter of villains.

Media presented this story with great interest as this clearly showed the inability of heroes and law-enforcement agencies, A person cleanly killed a total of 13 villains under their noses without any information how this happened or who did this. Media was always very sensitive to news which can be used against heroes and government as it creates more sensation than normal hero-villain disputes and this news was their favorite type, they reported this news heavily, but this was later suppressed by HPSC, but the suppression did not worked much as the news, already spread across the civilians.

The civilians showed varied reactions as one faction was admonishing the authorities and heroes while other faction was satisfied with the murders of the villains and call it a 'move of Justice'. Under these varied, heroes had to take the brunt of this incident, as they were the very 'visible' part of the law-enforcement and people were really disappointed. HPSC was really concerned, as this was damaging to the hero-citizen co-operation and this may worsen with time. They were racking their brains to find a way to offset the incident.

While all this was happening, the main perpetrator of the whole incident, woke up late today and is currently brushing his teeth.

After doing his normal morning routine, he decided to go on a jog instead of a workout today as he woke up late and doesn't have that much time. He was jogging slowly, while admiring the slightly busy city, with a little activity going on here and there. He was jogging and watched students going to school while talking about the 'villain-slaughter' incident. He was surprised to hear the name of the work he did yesterday.

He stood in front of a store with multiple TVs on a display glass, which is reporting the news about yesterday's incident.

After that, the reporter went off tangent to target the authorities which was irrelevant to Shido.

He continued his jogging and reached a beach with trash littering all over the beach. He saw two skinny people trying to train, if going on to more details, one was pulling a huge fridge with a rope around his shoulder and while the other one is cheering the one pulling the fridge.
