PROLOGUE

THIRD PERSON'S POV

The night is quiet, and you can feel the cool breeze. Eli and Camilla are talking happily under a tall tree.

"What if your family finds out? We know it's against your family's policy to fall in love with someone like me," Camilla inquired calmly, causing Eli to frown.

"Sshhh, I'll find a way, love; I've always obeyed my mom and dad since I was a child, so maybe they'll give me a favor to let us go," Eli said, trying to smile.

"You're a fool for believing what you believe, Eli!" His mother yelled from behind the tree they were leaning against. That was unexpected.

"M-mom, how did you happen to be there?" Eli asked in surprise, quickly rising from his seat, grabbing Camilla, and placing her on his back so his mother couldn't reach or touch the girl he loved.

"It doesn't matter any longer; stay away from that girl! You are aware that what you are doing is against our family policy, Eli!" His mother exclaimed angrily.

"I know that mom, that’s why I want you and dad to talk about it; let's talk about it, mom; you seem to have mercy," Eli said almost sobbingly.

Fate is a tyrant, and the weather has joined in. The weather abruptly changed, the air became colder, and there was some thunder. It predicts rain.

"There is nothing to talk about, Eli, we won't allow you to marry that scumbag! What will our villagers say? Your father and I's friends? Are you thinking about it, Eli?" His mother said emphatically, and you could hear her anger in her voice.

"Does the beauty of reputation in front of subordinates matter to you, mom? Can we just change that?" Eli's emotional begging to his mother.

"Stupid, blasphemy! Shut up, because nothing should change no matter what," his mother snarled and said proudly.

"We'll just go away, mom. We'll go to a faraway place where no one knows us and we'll live a peaceful life there; I won't ask for anything else, mom; just leave us alone." Eli begged and promised, determined and desperate that he was truly going to abandon everything and just leave his family alone.

"What kind of mind do you have? Stop your insanity!" His mother yelled angrily again.

The rain fell alongside her yelling, but it did not become an impediment to their meeting. Their men arrived with just a signal from his mother.

"M-mom..." Eli sobbed as he called out to his mother.

"You don't want to split up with Camilla? Let me just end her life so you don't have to suffer any longer. End Camilla's life!" She yelled angrily at the staff, who immediately obeyed.

They only stopped approaching when Eli refused to leave Camilla's side. The staff returned Doña Felicidad's stare, indicating that they were at a loss for what to do next.

"Don't block that girl, Eli," an irritated Doña Felicidad told her son.

"No, mom, if you're going to end the life of the woman I love, you'll also end mine, because I’ll feel like I have no life if I lose her," Eli replied bravely.

Her mother sighed, "Madness, but okay. If that's what you want, I'll give it to you. Finish those two!" Doña Felicidad was proudly produced.

Her mother's staff had hesitated to fulfill the order, but they had no choice. In an instant, amid heavy rain and thunder. Under the tree, lovers Eli and Camilla lost their lives.

"M-mom, I just want to ask something. Why is it so hard for you to let us live far away, and it's so easy for you to k-kill us? While I-I’m your s-son." Eli pleaded before collapsing face-down in the grass.

Doña Felicidad stepped forward with her back turned. Eli thought that his mother would take pity on him, but he was wrong; Doña Felicidad continued walking again as if nothing had happened.

At the same time that Doña Felicidad took another step, Eli's breath ran out.

"Love, Eli?" Camilla softly called out to her boyfriend, but he didn't answer or move, indicating that he was no longer alive.

The rain is still not stopped from falling as if they are waiting for both of them to die. Camilla smiled bitterly as she hugged the lifeless body of her lover, Eli.

"We just lived in the wrong time, my love. Maybe the page of our story just doesn't match the theme this time. Let's try to wait first; let's follow the flow of destiny first; maybe in our next life, it's possible, I'll wait for you. Even if it takes days, months, or decades, I'll wait for you. I pray that my heart will recognize you the moment we meet again." Camilla cried as she hugged her boyfriend until she passed out.

Two people who had forbidden love lost their lives in the middle of a cold night and heavy rain. ────────────────────────

Fate is amusing,

It appears to be a challenge whether you will just let it be.

Because if it does not meet the not for each other,

It brings together those who are unable to love freely.
