6 A Systemic Observation

In a room filled with darkness, three lights could be seen shining. Although they were bright, they didn't light the darkness at all. It's as if the light wasn't real. Looking closer, each light could be seen to flicker along with a voice echoing in the room.

[This guy is an imbecile! I say we cut our losses and wait another hundred years for a better one.] A gruff voice with a condescending tone spoke out first, with exasperation on it's tongue.

[I mean we could but, I'm not that patient so I'll take my chances on him. Who knows he might actually be able to make it out. Besides, what's the worst that could happen? He dies and we wait for another.]

A young voice spoke next. The voice was cracking in and out, hinting at the start of puberty.

[You dare question the great me? I chose this host! Of course he's gonna make it to the end! And then it'll be my time! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!]

The last voice sounded high pitch and excited with a hint of mechanical in it as well.

[I knew it was a mistake to let you pick our host.]

[Well that's too bad! Cause it was my turn to pick anyway and both of the previous two host you guys picked didn't even last a week! Plus he gave the system some interesting abilities!! He hit sonic speed on the beginner ability! Can you imagine if he actually makes it to god level!?]

Laughing harder, the third voice fantasized about the future.

[Back to the main topic, you say what's the worst that could happen? What if he actually fights something that can see us or even worse, what if he meets the others?]

The first voice's questions causes the second voice to ponder and stops the third one's laughter.

[That would be really bad! But stop worrying! All we can do is get him stronger than them before he meets them and our host's luck isn't that bad!]

The third's response caused the other voices to pause for a little.

[The humans have a phrase called raising a flag. I think you just did it.]

[I agree. I usually look down on superstition but this time I think you've really screwed us with that one.]

[Then bring them on and I'll show you my abilities of the host I chose! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!]

[We might actually be fucked this time. All we can do is wait.]

[Alright, but you have to handle him for now. I don't want to bother with the pest.]

With the laughing of the third as background music and their conversation done., the other two lights flickered out.

[Wait, don't just leave so suddenly!]

And the third light went out as well.
