Chapter-8 Problems.

Utgard Castle, secret tunnels.

Seeing the long, wide passages, Merric looked at Laufey and said slowly, "It looks like you are experts at sneaking."

Although there was no contempt in his tone, Laufey's face contorted with anger. He looked coldly at Merric and was silent.

Freyja looked at the ice giants with contempt. Although only Asgard has instant travel technology, using dimensional energy, Bifrost. The other races have their respective similar technologies, although they do not compare with Bifrost, they are still rare throughout the universe.

In Vanaheim, the Vanir gods used magic and created a small world, that world connects to Yggdrasil, thus, having access to all nine worlds. However, the cost of mystical energy is very high, so it is not used much by the Vanir gods.

All but Jotunheim and Muspelheim have a fixed method of traveling between worlds.

These two worlds use fissures in space to travel secretly to all nine worlds. But traveling long distances in an unstable space fissure is not very safe. Therefore, the mortality rate in these fissures is quite high.

"Half-breed, I hope you know what you are doing, otherwise you will die without even knowing how you died." Merric spoke as his face gradually grew serious, with each step he took, he felt his heart flutter.

He felt that way, because Agnar's aura was getting stronger and stronger. With each step forward, this inexplicable pressure made everyone present restless and cautious.

"You don't have to tell me, I know it very well." Laufey said as he gripped his own fists tightly.

How could Laufey not know? If he fails, not only will he die, but so will his mother. For that woman, Laufey can sacrifice everything, including his own life.

So for Laufey, there is no going back and killing or dying.

When everyone was apprehensive, abruptly, Merric grabbed the hilt of his sword and cut through the ice wall. But even with its strength, the ice wall was intact.

Not even a white mark appeared on the ice wall. Apparently, it was a pointless attack.

When Laufey was about to scream in fury, he suddenly stopped talking and stared at the wall in silence. There was a shocked look in the red eyes.

On the wall where Merric launched his attack, an ice giant appeared, there was only the body intact, the head of the ice giant was already rolling on the floor.

"It seems that there are traitors among you." Merric spoke as he looked at all the ice giants with a deadly look.

"When you came to me, there were 50 ice giants, but when we left the ice castle, there were only 48 ice giants. One was killed by Freyja and the other?" Merric spoke to Laufey and said in a cold voice. So, he continues to speak. "We can say that Agnar, knows our arrival and his plans. What are you going to do, Half-breed?"

"The main plan only I know. As for the ice giants, you can kill everyone." Laufey said in a cold, emotionless voice, these ice giants were originally shields against Agnar, but since they don't even serve as shields, there's no reason to keep any of them alive.

When Laufey's voice dropped, Merric moved, the golden blade gleamed with black light, and he himself advanced towards the 48 ice giants.

The ice giants did not stand still, they used ice manipulation and made several elemental attacks against Merric.

Seeing the attacks of the ice giants, Merric showed no contempt and brandished his sword colliding with each attack.

When the golden sword came into contact with the attacks, they disappeared as if they no longer existed in the world.

Within seconds, Merric took care of all the attacks and appeared in front of the ice giants. It was like a wolf entering a flock of lambs.

It was a one-sided slaughter, when the golden sword bathed in Merric's divine energy, cut through the ice giants, they ceased to exist, and their bodies were transformed into nothing, nor did their soul escape that fate.

Laufey looked at the scene with a stunned look. A shiver ran down his spine, he unconsciously took a step back.

Fear.

That was the feeling of Laufey at the moment, he never imagined that a god under a hundred years old could have such a frightening power.

It was very scary, not even Agnar, his father, could make him feel that way. After everything is over, Laufey promised that he would never again contact this Asgardian god.

Freyja just looked at Merric's cold, indifferent face with a look full of admiration and excitement.

Each severed head, each dismembered body, was a spectacular sight in Freyja's eyes.

Two minutes later, there was no longer a living ice giant, apart from Laufey.

"Let's continue." After placing his sword in its sheath, Merric looked at Freyja and Laufey and said seriously.

Laufey nodded and started toward the exit of the secret tunnels of Utgard Fortress.

"If everything gets too dangerous, run away without hesitation." Merric closed the distance between him and Freyja and whispered to her. Freyja was silent and only replied with a furious and angry look at him.

"You put yourself in danger and came to rescue me, do you think I will escape after that? Even if I die, I will die fighting with you!" Without controlling her voice, she said as she looked at the pale green eyes seriously.

Their faces were just inches from touching.

Merric did not care for her ambiguous attitude and looked into those steady and determined eyes seriously. After seeing Freyja's unwavering determination, he let out a helpless sigh.

"You Vanir gods are not peaceful and hate fighting? How are you so different?" Merric asked with a helpless look.

"In addition to other authorities, I am also the goddess of war and death! So I am different from my Vanir compatriots." Freyja lifted his head proudly and said with a smug look.

Merric just smiled and said nothing. If the Aesir gods are a clan of warriors, the Vanir gods are a clan of peaceful sorcerers, in addition to magic, they respect nature very much, which was evident in Vanaheim, which has almost no signs of industrialization.

"The exit." Listening to Laufey, Merric and Freyja became serious and looked at each other in silence.
