Chapter-7 Utgard.

Although he found Freyja's eyes strange, Merric nodded and took the sword back into the ice wall.

Placing the sword in its sheath, Merric glanced at Freyja and noticed the red marks on his wrists and ankles. Although it was almost clean, he still saw some blood particles on the delicate skin.

'She broke her wrists and ankle to escape the handcuffs.'

After learning this, Merric felt a little admiration for this goddess Vanir, it is never easy to find the courage to mutilate yourself.

Freyja noticing Merric's gaze, guessed his thoughts and smiled weakly, she wasn't going to say that she only got the courage to run away because of him.

She couldn't be that direct. But Freyja, too, would not stand still and wait for Merric to take the initiative. She knows very well how to win someone's heart.

At that moment, a red-eyed ice giant entered the room. The cold, ugly face was full of suppressed anger.

"Prince Asgardian, since you saw that the goddess Vanir is fine, we are going to Utgard." He said while showing his pointed teeth.

Freyja seeing Laufey, her face went cold and without hesitation, her hands lit up and a milky white flame flew towards him.

Laufey felt danger coming and soon an ice shield rose from the floor. Meanwhile, ice spears flew towards Freyja, who smiled coldly and teleported beside Laufey.

Without the handcuffs that prevented her from mobilizing her divine energy, Freyja was a ferocious and bloodthirsty war goddess.

Beside Laufey, she made the white flame appear again, but this time, a spear of flame went through the air and went towards the heart of the ice giant.

Laufey felt a deadly crisis hover over him, so a cold chill broke out from his body. Several layers of thin ice shields stood in front of him, trying to stop the spear of white flame.

But then, he saw the mocking smile on the face of the goddess Vanir. Quickly, he turned and saw the same goddess Vanir with a sword of white flame, inches from his heart.

'Bitch!' With no time to do anything, Laufey cursed Freyja, he was about to draw something, but to his surprise, another ice giant ran out and took the sword for him.

The sword of white flame went straight through the heart of the unknown Ice Giant and evaporated all the poor ice giant. Killing him on the spot.

Laufey did not miss this opportunity and advanced against Freyja like an angry bull. In his hands, two ice daggers condensed and he brandished them towards Freyja's delicate neck.

Freyja did not expect an ice giant to interfere with her plan like this, now she was taken by surprise with Laufey's attack.

Mobilizing divine power within her, Freyja created several barriers in one hand and waving with the other hand, she made spears of flame fall from the ceiling of the room.

Laufey dodged the spears of flame and collided violently with Freyja's shields.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

With consecutive explosions, the barriers that Freyja erected were destroyed one by one, Laufey's strength seemed too frightening.

Without Freyja realizing, besides the last remaining barrier, she realized that she was surrounded by many ice giants.

"Enough, didn't you say we were going to Utgard? Come on." At that moment, Merric walked over to Freyja and stood beside her. The cold, indifferent voice made Laufey step back cautiously.

The ice daggers disappeared and Laufey said nonchalantly, "The goddess Vanir must stay in the castle."

When Freyja was about to speak, she saw Merric's gaze and was silent.

"Half-breed, do not doubt my word, unlike you, I am someone with honor. What I said, I will do, besides that Freyja can help to kill, Agnar." Merric spoke with indifference and coldness, green eyes staring at Laufey with a calm and serene look.

Laufey thought for a moment and nodded, he saw personally the tricks and power of the goddess Vanir.

"So let's go." Laufey spoke as he turned to leave the castle.

"Are we really going to help kill, Agnar? Agnar is an old monster, taking out a planet is not difficult for him." Seeing Laufey's back, Freyja gave a disgusted look and said in a whisper to Merric.

"This half-breed must use a different means to kill, Agnar. Isn't it better to take advantage and kill, the king of the ice giants in this war against the dark elves?" Merric whispered quietly in Freyja's ear. He didn't notice her flushed cheeks and her happy look.

"Besides, I have backup." Merric whispered with a cold smile.

"You lied to him, but I like it…" Freyja whispered to Merric with a brilliant look.

Merric's mouth twitched at her words, but still retorted, "I didn't lie, I said I would help kill, Agnar, that's what we're doing now."

"Let's go." Merric ran after Laufey without even looking back.

Seeing Merric's firm, erect back, a smile appeared on Freyja's lips. She felt that Merric was becoming more and more perfect for her.

"Dad, you can't blame me, even we gods, we can't control our hearts." Freyja whispered as he accompanied Merric.

Seeing Freyja accompanying him, Merric nodded at her and was silent. For some reason, he felt something was missing.

Shaking his head to get these random thoughts out of his mind, Merric concentrated on the fight that would take place.

After five hours.

Seeing the huge ice fortress, Utgard, Merric and Freyja held their breath for a moment.

It was no wonder, the fortress's aura was too oppressive, the air around it was heavy and a feeling of fear penetrated everyone's heart.

"Utgard, made from the giant's body, Ymir, the progenitor of the ice giants. A being able to give life with just a thought, but it was…" Laufey explained proudly, but looked at Merric and Freyja with a cold look.

"Ymir, he was killed by my grandfather, Buri, the progenitor of the Norse gods. His head is well kept in Asgard's safe. It's a great trophy, don't you think, half-breed?" Merric spoke looking at Laufey with contempt and smugness, he saw the giant's head, Ymir, in Asgard's vault. The head itself was almost the size of a moon.

Laufey didn't answer Merric and just gave him a cold look. Then Laufey walked to the bottom of Utgard's fortress.
