Chapter-23 Meeting (Part 2)

The next day.

Opening his eyes, Merric stared at the ceiling lost in deep thought.

After a few minutes, Merric sat on the bed and the white sheet fell off showing a body that made many beings envious.

Merric looked to the side and found a completely naked woman sleeping between the white sheets.

She slept with her face serene and calm, apparently without any concern on her beautiful face.

Merric gently stroked Freyja's pretty face and kissed her forehead gently. Then he got up from the bed and put on a black Asgardian tunic with red embroidery on the sleeves and edges of the tunic.

Before leaving the room, Merric looked at Freyja once more and then turned around leaving the room.

As he walked in the fortress's corridor, the servants bowed deeply to Merric and then continued to perform their duties with great competence and seriousness.

Merric nodded to the servants and continued to walk in silence.

After walking for five minutes, Merric looked at the doors in front of him and opened them, showing a man and a young man sitting at a table together.

Seeing the young man, Merric's footsteps stopped for a moment, but soon returned to normal and he walked over to the table.

"Brother!" Seeing Merric, Odin stood up and hugged his brother tightly, there was a cheerful smile on the face of everyone's future father.

"The last time we met was in Asgard, but I didn't have time to say goodbye to you, forgive me for that." Holding Merric's face in his hands, Odin spoke in an apologetic tone.

"Don't worry about it, with a war going on, we are all too busy." Merric replied with a small smile. This was Odin, a brother, and friend, one of the beings that he trusts his own life without hesitation.

Borr looked at the scene with a touch of envy passing through his eyes. He envied this relationship, he wanted to be like that with his brother, Njord, but life doesn't always go the way we choose.

After talking to each other, Merric sat next to Odin. The servants served breakfast, but neither Merric nor Borr moved to Odin's confusion.

"Are we expecting anyone else?" Odin asked confused, he looked at Merric as if demanding a quick answer.

"My wife is not here yet." Merric replied without caring, he took the bowl containing mead and took a sip.

Sensing the sweet taste, Merric showed a satisfied smile, he likes sweet things very much.

"Yes, your wife is yet to arrive ..." Odin nodded and repeated without realizing his own words.

"Your wife…"

"Wait!"

"Wife!?"

Soon, Odin realized the words he had said and looked at Borr and Merric with a look full of disbelief and horror.

Seeing Borr nodding his head, Odin sat down in his chair without strength and looked at Merric with an offended look.

"Who is it? And why was I not invited to the wedding banquet?" Odin asked with a sad and helpless look.

"Brother-in-law, I haven't officially married yet, so the wedding banquet hasn't been held yet." Hearing the sweet, melodious voice behind him, Odin turned and saw a woman wearing a black dress with red embroidery, matching the clothes of Merric himself.

Seeing the woman, Odin nodded with satisfaction, he did not expect the goddess Vanir to really win Merric's heart, but he still praised his brother internally for getting such a beautiful and elegant woman as a wife.

Odin got up from his chair and hugged Freyja with joy, then he said: "although we fought together in Jotunhaim, we still haven't introduced ourselves, my name is Odin Burison, you can call me Odin."

Freyja smiled to Odin's delight and replied in the same cheerful tone: "Freyja Njorddottir, call me Freyja."

Hearing Freyja's surname, the smile on Odin's face stagnated. He looked at Merric with a strange look and had to sigh how strange the fate was.

Remembering a young brown-haired woman dancing in a field of flowers, she looked like a nymph dancing along with the breeze of the wind in Vanaheim.

Then, an image of two young men kissing under a tree appeared in Odin's mind.

"I will miss you every second, Frigga. When all this is over, I will come and get you and we will live in Asgard." The young blond with blue eyes spoke with a reluctant look.

"I waited for you, my love." Frigga responded with a warm, elegant smile.

"Is something wrong Odin?" Seeing Odin's face changing so many times in an instant, Freyja asked with concern.

But a strange look came into Freyja's eyes. She saw love and longing on Odin's face, but it was not for her, but when she told her last name... suddenly, an idea appeared in her mind.

Before being kidnapped by the ice giants, Freyja heard that the Crown Prince of Asgard was guarding the border near Vanaheim.

The only person who had the same last name as her in Vanaheim, was her older sister, Frigga Njorddottir.

'Odin and Frigga?'

'Did the two meet in Vanaheim?'

The more I looked at Odin, but that idea couldn't get out of Freyja's mind.

"It's nothing, I was just lost in daydreams." Odin regained clarity and responded very quickly.

Although he was almost certain of her guess, Freyja said nothing and sat down next to Merric, who took her hand and the two started to eat, ignoring Borr and Odin.

Ignored several times, Borr smiled helplessly and began to eat in silence. There was a bitter look in his eyes.

After he finished eating, Borr said goodbye to them and there were only Merric, Freyja and Odin left in the room.

"Brother, I arrived last night, how is the war going on in Svartalfheim?" Odin asked as he held a bowl of mead.

"Currently, the situation is at an impasse. The dark elves want to delay time as much as possible. To do this, they are sacrificing many warriors and spaceships. If this continues, the decisive war will probably happen in a few months." Merric replied while wiping his mouth with a handkerchief.

"By the way, weren't you supposed to be on the Vanaheim border? Why did you come to Svartalfheim?" Merric asked confused.

"This ..." Odin hesitated to say but, soon decided to speak.
