Chapter-19 Svartalfheim (Part 2)

"It's been a while, Merric. Your power has grown a lot." Sitting on a makeshift throne, Borr, wearing his golden armor, looked at Merric with a satisfied look.

Merric's growth rate exceeded his imagination. Borr thought that Merric would need to be a hundred years old to reach that level, but after a war in Jotunheim, his power came close to an Intermediate level god.

Gods also have a power ranking.

[Inferior God, Midler God, Higher God, Superior God, Lord of Gods, King of Gods, Celestial God, Ancient God, Primordial God.]

(Author: Sorry for not doing a better power ranking, I was left without imagination… I am a useless author…)

Merric was about to reach Intermediate level God. He just needed to accumulate more divine energy and the level promotion will happen naturally.

This made Borr very satisfied, he reached that level when he was 150 years old. Now, Merric under 20, will reach this level soon. This shows the talent and fate are extremely high.

"Praise is not necessary, father." Merric knelt with respect and said while keeping his head down.

"You're right, let's change the subject. You married my brother's daughter, you have a lot of courage, my son." Borr leaned his arm on the throne and spoke with a rather strange laugh.

At that moment, Freyja, who was silent, knelt and spoke with respect. "Freyja Njorddottir, Princess of the Vanir, salutes the King of Asgard, Borr, the victorious."

"You look like Skadi, niece. Tell me, is your mother still as fierce as she used to be?" Hearing Freyja's words, Borr's gaze fell on her and he said with an amazingly gentle look.

Freyja was surprised by Borr's gentle tone, but she soon reacted and responded with respect. "My mother still remains the same, a few months ago, she almost took my father's head off for sleeping with another goddess."

"Hahahahaha!" After hearing the words of Freyja, Borr did not contain the laughter and laughed in a very exalted way.

"It seems that Skadi did not lose his ferocity for being surrounded by mans sheep!" Borr stopped laughter and spoke to Freyja with a softer look.

Freyja was not offended that her people were called sheep, in her view, that was exactly what they were. Sheep, always living their daily lives without anything surprising.

"Bestla, you already told me the whole situation of you two. Since you already married my son, you must renounce your title and receive an Asgard title. As for your father, if he doesn't like it, you can say that you are no longer a Vanir goddess, but an Aesir goddess. " Although his tone was authoritative and indifferent, Freyja was grateful and bowed her head in thanks.

"Don't thank me, I have to thank you, Freyja. You helped a lot more than you think," Borr said with a satisfied smile. He never thought that Merric would marry someone, but to his surprise, he married before Odin, who was always more flirtatious and seductive with women.

Merric clearly realized the meaning of Borr's words, he looked at him in an annoyed way.

"By the way, did you say you would hit me if I didn't accept your marriage? And you would still abdicate your title. Boy, it seems that with the gain of strength, it made you more arrogant." Abruptly, Borr changed the subject and spoke looking at Merric with a kind look, but that seemingly kind look left Merric shivering.

"Wait!" Merric was about to ask for forgiveness, but would Borr miss the chance to beat Merric?

Of course not.

Instantly disappearing from the throne, Borr arrived in front of Merric in milliseconds and just slapped his son lightly on the shoulder.

For Merric, this seemingly simple slap was like a bomb exploding inside his body. There were no injuries, just an excruciating pain running through every inch of his body, every cell seemed to collapse with the simple touch of Borr. Merric's face was distorted by the agonizing pain he was feeling.

This showed the horrible control over the very power that Borr had.

"Merric!"

Freyja, who reacted now, quickly came to Merric's side and helped him to lean on her. She looked at Borr with a menacing look.

"Don't look at me like that, it's a small punishment for his irresponsible words. If it were Bestla, he would be bleeding everywhere." To Freyja's menacing eyes, Borr just showed a gentle smile and said calmly as he sat on his throne again.

Freyja did not answer and just supported Merric in silence.

Five minutes later, Merric recovered a little and got to his feet, without Freyja's help.

With a pale face, Merric knelt again and said, "I apologize for my words, but I don't regret saying them."

To Merric's words, Borr frowned and the temperature of the room gradually became lower.

"Watch your words, boy." In a cold, indifferent voice, Borr spoke as his deep gaze fell on Merric.

When the two looked at each other, the atmosphere of the room became tense and silent.

Freyja looked at Merric, touched, she knew he was confronting Borr for her.

When the atmosphere was about to explode, the doors to the throne hall were rushed open and a guard entered.

The guard knelt and spoke aloud.

"The war between us and the dark elves has grown more intense, our countrymen have asked for reinforcements."

"Merric, you can go and support the army." Closing his eyes, Borr spoke without looking at Merric, who nodded and said, "I will carry out the orders of the King of Asgard without fail." After that, he got up and left the room holding Freyja's hand.

Borr opened his eyes and looked at Merric's back with a helpless look.

"That disobedience, he pulled from me.... I spoke to my father the same way." Borr whispered with an amused and nostalgic look.
