Morgana

"Okay, We'll conclude there, I have no clue how you broke my protection ward. What did you do to make the spell so powerful?"

The sparkle in the old man's eyes didn't cease and any hint of the terror he had a moment ago was gone.

"I used a chunk of my mana to propel the water I froze, isn't that what you're supposed to do?" I said in a questioning tone

Merlin's face switched to confusion and as soon as the expression came, it left.

He shook his head in an amused manner and gestured for me to follow him.

So I followed him and I followed him, add a couple more "follows" and that'll describe how long it took.

I walked up staircase after staircase, step after step, room after room and when he finally stopped abruptly he loudly proclaimed

"This is your roommate, Morgana, speaking of, I never got your name."

When the name "Morgana" flew out of Merlin's mouth, I was left in shock. The Morgana that betrays him in the old stories? All the thoughts that were jumping around in my head suddenly came to a stop when I looked up. I saw a woman about my age, her early twenties, whose beauty was jaw-dropping. She had long black hair, purple eyes, and a sculpted face.

I let many moments of silence pass before I realized that I had to answer Merlin's question.

"Oh, yeah, my name is James."

Merlin nodded and quickly said

"Good to know, now I'm assuming that you don't have stuff to move in here, so I'm going to give you a bit of the necessities, that includes spell books."

He handed me a large velvet bag with a pile of items inside.

"Thank you, it is very much appreciated."

Merlin shrugged off my thanks, which kind of annoyed me.

"Mhm, you both have training tomorrow." he said in a condescending tone as he left.

This left an awkward silence in the room, I felt it was likely that this woman would come to betray Merlin. On top of that I was her roommate, if she wanted to kill me while I slept, I was literally only ten feet away. I had to keep a straight face through this however, I had to act normal.

"Well, hello Morgana, pleasure meeting you."

"You don't look like you're talented" She muttered with a confused look on her face.

"Excuse me?" I couldn't help but slightly take offense to what I thought I heard.

"Oh, Merlin only takes very talented people into apprenticeship, generally they all have a similar look, it gets quite boring. You'll find that it's sort of a theme here. Boring"

I already slightly disliked her, it seemed like she treated life as a game. I couldn't help but feel the opposite, how could this be a game for me when the one thing I've wanted for years is to disappear from my old world and appear in another?

"Other people, how many other people are there?" I asked as I lie in my bed, being sure to put the items Merlin gave me on my new bedside table.

"There's four..I think, I never really pay much attention to them. You'll get to meet them tomorrow if you care about introductions and that type of thing." She said in a bored tone, sighing as she opened a book.

I didn't know what to expect from Morgana and I didn't know whether or not I should've told Merlin to watch out. I wanted to avoid seeming crazy, but I wanted to prevent a catastrophe if one were about to occur.

I was exhausted, but I wanted to make use of the time that I had before waking up tomorrow. I had a few spell books now and I was sure as hell going to read them.
