He did feel helpless not being able to have knowledge of the reasons that made her so mournful and thereby not having the slightest of idea as to how to commiserate with her and make her feel at ease. He wondered what she must be going through, what kind of emotions and thoughts might be flooding her brain to precipitate her to wail so despairingly.
