The man shoots her, then walks over and whispers in her ear," Too late now. You had your chance, but you crossed The Phantom."

Erika tried to run back to the orphanage when she realized she was quite hurt having broken bones, possible internal injuries, and many cuts/forming bruises.

Erika escapes back to her room which she shares with 2 younger girls. 'Finally, that took forever' But, she had a warm feeling in her heart, as she felt love after a long time.
