Encyclopedia of Mesenian Creatures Entry 1.

The Meseri-Arachnid is predatory creature that has a regular Mesenian build, standing on two legs, S shaped spine and one pair of arms with opposable thumbs on their hands.

These creatures don't have a set habitat, living a more Nomadic Life Style. Some do choose to stick to an area, but it's not a common occurrence, especially considering that the habitats that they can safely inhabit are far and few between.

Traits shared by all Meseri-Arachnids are the following: Two pair of vents located underneath the rib cage, red eyes and a pair of small holes located on the sides of their heads, other traits are all mainly due to the individual appearence.

Being predators, they are equipped with what you'd expect from any other predator, sharp claws, sharp teeth, even venom, and of course there's their own methods of hunting: Through the two holes on the sides of their heads, they can release a very sticky and dense string that quickly expands into a foam when it makes contact with any surface, they can also produce a secondary type of string that is still sticky, but trades the expansion mechanic for incredible stretchines, this allows the Meseri-Arachnids to store air inside cocoons of it and use it to hunt underwater by sticking them to their vents.

Let's focus on these vents a little, they are incredibly sensitive to any external stimuli, for that reason they're covered in a membrane that stops anything solid from getting lodged in it, although it can be torn if enough force is applied, it grows back of course, but a Meseri-Arachnid will tear it themselves in certain occasions, like showing that they mean no harm, or when trying to attract a mate.

Evolution Boost.1

When a Meseri-Arachnid uses Evolution Boost, there's two main forms they're known to take.

The first is one that focuses mainly on agressiveness, it's named Assault Form. their body changes by giving them an additional set of ribs, these ribs are very sturdy, allowing them to be used as stilts, this is made easier thanks to a joint at the tips that simulate feet, giving better balance, and the tip is very pointy, letting it be used as a weapon.

Another change that the Assault Form brings, is a set of mandibles that give their bite a larger area and inside their throat is a gland that allows them to spit out a stream of venom that is twice as toxic as the one in their bite.

The second form is based on stealth, the Ambush Form. It makes their bodies thinner and gives them actual gills, letting them hide underwater for as long as they want, they also have minor color changing capabilities. Their string also changes, becoming a proximity mine that traps everything that gets too close to it.
