7 Chapter 6: Cool Looking Alien

RAM WAS DISAPPOINTED.

He thought that Sandhya, being the granddaughter of the Previous Elder of Time, would have cool transportation vehicle. But when they arrived outside of his building, Ram found out the ride to be unpleasant.

"It's a bicycle?" Ram asked.

Sandhya frowned. "Yeah. What did you expect me to have?" she asked.

Ram's imagination ran wild for a moment before he composed himself. "Something expensive and fast moving vehicles, like BMW, Tesla, Sports Car or at least a Sports Bike. But Bicycle? At least tell me that it's a special one, like the cool looking gadgets of James Bond," Ram said.

Sandhya scoffed. "If I were to indulge in your fantasies, not only would I have to waste my money, but I would also become lazy. I had to be diligent, maintain my weight and quick. What's good way to achieve them than a good old fashioned Bicycle?" she asked.

Ram felt like he was acting in a limited budget Sci-Fi Movie. He remembered Em, her powers of projection. He summoned her. "Can you project an illusion like I am sitting inside a BMW?" he asked, looking at the Bicycle. He furrowed his brows. "No. Project a sports bike instead. The more expensive and comfortable, the better."

Em shook her head. "No. I can't do that. These bicycles were special. It's just that you have to use your Power of Time to ride them faster. Since you don't know how to do the same, all you could do was hitch a ride with her," she said.

Ram was excited. He could use the power of time to travel at super-fast speed?

Before he could voice his question, Sandhya interjected. "I could travel like that if I were alone. But since you are there with me and you don't know how to use your powers yet, we have to move at much slower pace. Besides, you are hell bent on gaining my love. Why don't you ride this bike with me?" she asked.

Ram felt a ray of hope burst inside his heart. Even though she sounded sarcastic, there might be a chance of him gaining her love if he spend enough time with her. And the way things looked, he could get more time spend with her, with her being the only one who could help him train how to control the Power of Time for the time being.

Ram nodded and was about to take the Bicycle from her so that he could sit in the front and ride it while Sandhya could sit in the back.

Sandhya glared at him. She moved her gaze and it lingered at the backseat and Ram swallowed. He had to sit behind while she would do the actual riding.

Isn't it reverse? A man has to do it right?

She did not even saw him as a man? If that were the case, then how the heck was he supposed to gain her love?

He was so embarrassed that he wanted to protest. But Sandhya had already hopped in the front and tapping her fingers impatiently on the handle.

Sighing, Ram hitched the ride in the back. Just as they were about to start, Ram's stomach clenched and also felt his fingers that were clutching the underside of Sandhya's seat tingle and …

Time flow slowed for him like a crawl.

For some reason, he could understand that the Time Flow was normal for Sandhya.

It was so slow for him that it felt like the whole journey dragged on for an entire day for him, leaving him exhausted.

When they finally reached the Secret Training Ground, Ram had dark circles under his eyes like he hadn't slept for an entire day.

Sandhya was grinning, like she had the best ride of her eyes and for a moment, Ram wished that he could stop the flow of time around them.

Ram's stomach clenched and this time he felt like someone were pulling something from his gut and disperse it out in the world. It was so painful that Ram's vision blurred.

By the time Ram's vision had cleared, he turned around to find that he was surrounded with absolute silence.

He glanced at his surroundings to see that the entire world froze, including Sandhya.

It was just like the romantic scene from K-drama; My Love from the Star, and he felt like the cool looking alien, Do Min-joon.

Ram stared at Sandhya, who looked so beautiful grinning that his heart started to beat faster. Ram was so excited that he wished the world around them would freeze like this forever.

He finally gotten a chance to stare at Sandhya for god knows how long or short it might be. But he intended to use it to max.

He stared at her to his heart's content. He didn't know how he was going to gain her love. But he had to try something.

Perhaps, if he get more chances like this, he could become closer to her. There might be a chance for her sub-conscious to pick up on this, and became closer to him.

One thing was sure that he had indeed gotten the powers from Previous Elder of Time. They are just locked for now.

Here and there, just like it had happened twice just now, he was able to use the powers. He had to train to master these powers and for that, he needed Sandhya's help.

He did not want to do anything that he regretted, that would make her angry at him.

But he don't know when he was going to get a chance like this.

He could stare at her, hug her or even if he dared, he could kiss her. But it just had to be quick.

If she caught him, then he could blame on his powers that were acting irrationally.

His heart beating wildly, he moved closer to her and soon, he was so close to her that if he were to dip his head a little bit, he could kiss her.

Should he kiss her or should he go for the hug instead? If he were hugging her and his powers stopped working, then he couldn't give any excuses on his powers.

But if it were the kiss…

It had to be very fast.

Ram gathered all the courage that he could obtain from this world and closed the gap between them.

Right when his lips touched hers, the flow of time returned to normal all around him.
