3 Boys will be Boys

Acura with a face sculpted by rage, the look in his eyes changed, it was filled with hate and malice. Sori on the ground saw this and immediately screamed. In mere seconds Acura made a dash towards him, and began pummeling him relentlessly. While Acura was having his way with Sori, a scream was heard behind him as he turned around he was assaulted with a frying pan on his head by a Woman.

"Hello hello Nadine, It's Volks, I'm here to pick up little Acura."

The man name is Volks Gear, and this is his first time caring for a child. Six Years has gone by, and he is still getting used to it. He asks for help from several of the other villagers and every-time he is scolded by women for him being unfaithful. You see Volks is married and his wife is an Adventurer who is on her longest adventure yet. People believe that he has laid with another woman, and now needs help with his bastard child.

Volks is a heavy set man with darkish gray hair. He is Ex military and a retired Mercenary. Usually fashioned in a work vest, baggy pants with many pockets, an axe on his waist and dog tags around his neck. He has no skills with the raising of kids only with axe and booze. But Volks is determined to raise this child properly.

"Finally you're here! Please take him and leave!" A lovely looking woman whose age doesn't show appears at the door. Short brown hair with an attractive figure wearing a modest green dress. She gives off the air of a responsible parent, and a do it all house wife. Nadine pushes Acura out the house with anger and disgust.

"What's the matter Nadine what happened?

"What happened? Your monster attacked my poor little boy, look at his adorable face." Sori face black and blue, swollen eye, and lumpy head hid behind his mother. Volks mouth dropped at the sight of this and immediately looked at Acura. But to his surprise the boy looked as innocent as a butter fly and as clueless as a duck with a sword.

"Mrs. Waker I deeply apologize for what my son has done to your boy, and I assure you that he will be punished I promise." Bowing his head Volks pushed Acura's head down also to show respect.

"I don't care just leave before my husband returns, and we have bigger problems!"

"Ahh yes yes, umm before I go ehhh by any chance did you find that 'thing'?"

With a red blushed face Nadine replied. "Hmmph no I did not now please leave"

"Of course of course sorry to bother you here's five doge for looking after him"

Volks walks Acura home, as they walk down the road buildings and shops can be seen on the right and the left, people of all ages walked the street shopping, eating, or just strolling. Herring village was a great blend of greenery and stone architecture. Along this walk Volks was deep in thought. 'Dr. Gray said the boy might have bipolar syndrome, but I think this is more than it seems. He doesn't seem to know that he did anything.'

"Acura can you tell me what happened today and why you attacked your friend"?

"I don't know Pops, Mrs. Waker said I beat up Sori, but that's not true. All I remember was running away from him because he was shooting psy blasts, but after that is a blur.

"Psy blast? He knows how to use it? And was using it on you? Did you tell Nadine this?"

"She didn't believe me, but I promise Pops, I'd never hurt Sori" The look in Acura's eyes there's no way he could be lying, but the fact is who else could've done it. More than likely Acura had another episode where he was not himself and didn't realize, it happens from time to time, but this has been it's worse one yet.

"Acura let me see your hands" Acura stuck out his hands for Pops immediately with a smile. Upon inspection blood could be seen on his knuckles. It's clear that he in fact did attack Sori. 'Poor boy I pray we figure out the cause of this for his sake' Volks thought to himself while wiping Acura's knuckles.

Volks and Acura finally reached home, small but skillfully built, this house surrounded by flowers that probably missed a few watering, and porch that could use a good sweeping was where these two lay their heads.

Inside was cluttered filled shelves of books, and the wall hung animal heads like prizes. Acura ran to his room and got his favorite wooden sword and started playing.

"Today I shall defeat you pops!"

Acura loudly proclaimed with confidence. Volks quickly poked Acura in his ribs and the duel was over. While the boy rolled on the ground pretending to die of agony Volks noticed something.

"Where's your chain Acura?"

Immediately the playing stopped, Acura lay flat not moving as if he truly did die. The silence lasted a moment as he finally told Volks what happened. Nadine's husband took the chain as punishment for hitting Sori and breaking the vase.

Volks a cheery calm man released an aura unbefitting his nature. Acura never saw this side of him and was shaking in fear.

"We're getting your chain back Acura...lets go"
