"no one", Annie responded half-heartedly. Shaun slightly tilted his head as if he was telling "of course you are lying common split it out".

"What!! I'm not", she did not want to back down.

He laughed seeing her agitated look.

Annie felt she wasn't hungry anymore but she helplessly finished it. The bell rang and everyone went back to their own classes.

While going back they heard few students talking.

One of them said, " do you know about our senior Rohwan he is getting admitted to one of the prestigious business schools in London".

Their talk made me feel uneasy, I should be happy for him but why do I feel so empty inside.

Shaun looked at me and suddenly spoke to them, "Where did you learn this from?".

The group was startled and looked at him. Oh, it's you Shaun you gave us a fright.

Where did you hear that?

What? Oh about our senior. I heard the teachers talking in the staff room when I went to submit our test papers earlier. What about it?

Shaun didn't respond and turned to look at Annie. When he turned back he found her missing. He felt really helpless.

I need to talk to Sam, but he is going through his issues.

Annie wasn't in a good mood. She went back to the classroom. Shaun went in to see Annie on her desk, "are you okay? ", Shaun asked.

What will happen to me? She replied in an emotionless tone.

Seeing her like this Shaun did not probe her further.

Classes went by and she was distracted the whole time. Soon the classes ended. It was time to go home.

She packed her bag and said, "let's go Shaun we need to visit sam's grandma".

You go first I have something important to do I'll directly come there, just text me the address.

He wanted to give them some time to clear up the misunderstandings.

"Okay", she said and went out of the classroom where Rohwan was already waiting for them.

Seeing only Annie he asked, "where is Shaun?"

Oh, he had something to do so he'll visit later. she didn't talk much. Rohwan felt like there was something was wrong with her.

She was red-faced.

He was now sure that something was bothering her. You can speak your mind maybe I could help you out he considerately asked her.

She was really in an awkward situation now how could she tell him what's going on in her mind. She was flushed red.

She looked kinda cute though with her flushed cheeks hiding her embarrassed look. His mouth curved in satisfaction. I could look at that face forever and never get bored he thought.

He did not wish to force her.

She did not know what to say. They walked for a while when she said I heard you are getting admitted to a business school in London.

He was taken aback, didn't know what to say.

She knew about that. He was speechless.

"How did you know", he asked her.

I heard some students gossiping, so it's true? She turned her head sideways and looked at him. He could see her eyes sparkling. They stared for a while when he looked away. She was dispirited and was in a daze when he coughed to gain her attention.

Yeah, actually my brother wants me to study there.

She half-smiled and said, "it's a good thing to have such a brother who cares for you so much and thinks so much for your future. It will be a very good opportunity I am really very happy for you".

He was disheartened at her response. He had various queries. Did she not like him? Did she not care for him? Did she not feel anything?

Suddenly he stopped and looked at her.

What happened? she said questioningly.
