THRESHOLDS

As I wander, I see the empty world deprived of living creatures. The only company that I have are the trees that sheltered me and offered food when I was hungry. They are gentle creations that whisper to me and told me stories of old, their plant children has different lifespans, and with their wisdom, I learned about the concept of life.

I was mesmerized by the generosity of the world, it gives me light when I was awake and provides enough darkness when I am tired. It was a cycle that I got used to, and so I wander everytime I woke up and feel the essence of the world. By utilizing the essence, I can lift myself and freely hover on the air.

It really was the same cycle, I did it over and over again that it feels like the essence was the air I am breathing. But everything was changed the moment when the essence of the world was in disarray. I rushed into the center of vortex where the essence was reacting and saw the space being distorted.

Creatures came out from the rift caused by the vortex, they came in different sizes and forms.. very far different from the features that I had. And then another distortion was formed from a far, followed by another, and another.

Those who saw me show an unfamiliar gesture, as if they were anticipating to see me on the other end. A greetings perhaps.

They started to go in separate ways as they reunite with the beings akin to them, so started moving again and went to the bodies of water. Compared to the rifts that opened on the lands, the rift opened on the seas are far more greater, as if something colossal will burst out in any moment.

As what I had anticipated, numerous entities came out from it, those creatures are far more different than what appeared on the lands, they were shiny creatures clad in different colors.

The rift started to expand, bigger and bigger as the colossal creature made its way to cross from the rift. It has a very sturdy looking skin, and a very long body.

It looked at me in the eye but I didn't felt any hostility... in that instance I felt the difference of our sizes and I was like a single granule of sand in front of a life-size statue.

It felt nostalgic for a little while but I decided to go back into the land where another rift was formed above it. Winged creatures came out from it including the majestic giants that looks full of wisdom.

The rifts started to gradually disappear and the fabric of space that was torn starts to recover itself, while some of those rifts are still left open, I decided to rest for the darkness was devouring the world again.

The loneliness I felt gradually faded as it was being replaced with curiosity.
