1 Chapter 1: The Beginning of a Change

Sometimes life doesn't go the way we have originally planned for it. Life is unexpected, and so are the circumstances you will come across at certain times at various levels. Sometimes, things go in your favour but there are times, those special times when things come off as a surprise. Life's surprise. Life is a surprise. One such time is the moment when you fall in love, and with whom you fall in love, both are things you cannot choose or control.

Time itself is a concept that cannot be controlled.

What will happen if you meet someone who could make a huge difference in your way of life with just their mere presence and existence? Someone who is so dangerous that they could see right through you and walk inside your sky-high tall walls that you've put such great efforts over the years to put up, just so you could protect yourself? But they could easily enter as if it's nothing, completely unaffected.

Someone who threatens the peace of the ecosystem/world you have created within yourself. Someone capable of ruining you, bringing you to the verge of your own destruction, someone who holds so much power that they could change you for better or damage you for worse just with their presence, words and actions. Someone who matters so much that it affects you deeply, with no turning back either.

If life gave you a shot at love, would you take it, or would you miss it? But can you really miss it? Would you really not take the risk at all? Even the ones who are the most oblivious fall for the sweet nectar of love, get entrapped, though painful the journey may be, but the sweet pleasures of loving someone could not be escaped from.

Love comes by the will of destiny, it leaves if it has to, also, by the will of destiny. You could never escape your destiny, whatever your destiny may hold, even if you wanted to, no matter how oblivious, you could never escape or miss it.

This story is about two such souls that are destined to meet and are bound to helplessly fall in love with each other.

The feeling of nervousness made Alena fidget a little. She was both equally excited and nervous about her first day at her dream school. A beautiful girl with ginger red hair walked through the massive golden gates of the prestigious Serizawa Sakura Elite High School. It was owned by the Serizawa family's branch business - Serizawa Educational Institutions Private Limited. The campus of the High School itself was humongous and breath-taking. She looked around and found herself in awe of its beautiful architecture. Taking in deep breaths she had a determined look in her eyes which sparked with the declaration "I am Ready". Sure enough, she was ready for anything that might come her way.

On the bulletin board outside the main entrance to the glorious and grandiose school building, were pinned a number of class lists. After she checked for her name on the list and the class allotted to her, she proceeded to enter the building.

Beautiful locks of her silky-smooth ginger red hair were tied up in a neat ponytail, it swayed as she walked through the hallway of the first floor, catching the attention of the passer-by and bystanders. She was looking at the class section plates when someone suddenly bumped into her, knocking the books in her hands down on the floor, her bag's strap slipped slightly off her shoulder. She immediately crouched to pick her books up, when someone's hands extended to gather together her books. Her eyes immediately shot up to look at the source.

"I am so sorry, I wasn't looking.", the boy with chocolate brown hair looked at her as he helped her gather the books.

"It's okay, you didn't do it on purpose", she passed a warm smile to assure him.

The boy was a little surprised, a tint of red shading his cheeks. He handed her the books, as they both got up and dusted their clothes off. He smiled back at her.

"Thank you", she said with a small smile on her face.

"No problem, it was my fault after all. It's the least I could do", he smiled back and they both left on their respective ways.

She entered the classroom 1-A which was allotted to her. As Alena walked inside the classroom, she recalled the days of hard work, long stretched study hours, and all the all-nighters she had pulled, studying day and night to secure her position and scholarship for Serizawa Sakura Elite High.

Unaware, she didn't notice that the moment she walked into the classroom, she was drawing attention. Heads were turned into her direction, mesmerized by her powerful aura and presence as she searched for an empty seat through the commotion filled in the classroom.

She noticed an empty spot and made her way to it. She had chosen the third seat from the front near the window.

She was just settling in when someone banged their hand on her desk to grab her attention. She was startled and her head immediately shot up to look in the direction of the source. A boy with jet black hair was smirking at her, his smile indicated mischief. It was devilish.

"Hi, beauty. What's your name?", he spoke as his head tilted to the side.

Alena's brows furrowed and her eyes squinted but she did not respond. He didn't give good vibes; plus, did she hear him right?? Beauty?? Who addresses someone like that? Definitely not someone decent. She thought.

As she introspected what to do, the guy at her desk leaned in a little closer to her. "Don't think I'm gonna go away so easily, honey", he whispered and smiled at her creepily. There were two more boys behind him.

Calm down, you've got this. Just a little patience. She took a deep breath and with a fake smile plastered to her face she asked, "How can I help you?"

"Hmm, that's more like it. I like obedient and pretty girls", he smirked. "What's your name, baby?"

"I am Alena, but I am sorry, I am not interested in you and I would like you to leave me alone", she said with the fake smile still plastered on her face. She just wanted them to leave without causing any ruckus.

"Alena, that's a cute name", he licked his lips, the sight of it sent a chill down her spine, she felt grossed out. "But I am interested in you, cutie and I ain't leaving until you go out on a date with him", he sat on her desk.

"By the way, babe. The name's Ruco. Don't forget", he winked.

What a jerk! Alena thought. What should I do now? She looked away, thinking of how to escape this situation when a voice attracted the attention of all of them.

"Move", a silver haired beautiful boy shouted, his voice loud and clear through the classroom commotion, pausing the classmates during their gossips, with the annoyance clear in his voice and face. His cold eyes were piercing. He was staring at the guy sitting on her desk.

"You are blocking the way", he looked so pissed that it appeared like he could smash Ruco's face any moment.

"Oh! If it isn't our dear Kai", Ruco said, raising his eyebrows, smiling creepily. The creepy smile seemed like a signature of his. Alena was wondering if this guy ever stopped smiling like that.

"This isn't a place for picnic, move your ass", Kai said loudly as he squinted his eyes in annoyance, waiting patiently for Ruco to move and make way.

"It's none of your business pretty boy. Why don't you mind your own business and take some other way", Ruco replied, he eyes turning dark as the smile on his face started to fade.

Ruco's lackeys, took a stance as they stood next to Ruco. "Yeah, leave us alone loser", one of them shouted at Kai.

With a quick and sudden movement, Kai grabbed Ruco by his collar, lifting his body with just his bare left hand.

"Boss!", the lackeys shouted as their faces turned pale by watching their boss lifted a level up above the floor with just one bare hand. Their hands balled up in a fist.

Scared, Ruco's face turned pale, as he noticed the ice-cold darkness in Kai's eyes. He signalled his lackeys to not take any action.

"Okay, okay! Chill. We're leaving! Put me down now", he spoke with a whimpering smile, like a slave obedient to his master.

Kai let go of his collar, due to which Ruco landed on the floor safely. "Let's go boys", he spoke in a weak tone. As the beta lost to the alpha, the boys followed after Ruco as he walked away.

After they left, Kai's sharp eyes looked straight into Alena's, they looked like they were going to pierce right through her. With a glance, he started to leave.

"T-Thank You!", Alena's voice, called behind him, stopping him on his tracks.

He turned around, glaring at her one last time before he left.

Alena could still feel the chills from his cold gaze, as a shiver ran down her spine.
