2 prismatic.

prismatic.

lilian z.

it was a night under the cherry trees

where i met you

in the pavilion i saw you sit

melodies of years gone by.

i walked up,

you stopped.

eyes piercing.

it was then i felt

my chest pounding.

this isn't right,

i would think to myself

to think that it would be you

instead of her.

the next time it was my turn

to sit there, waiting.

chest pounding.

until i saw you

and my worries fluttered away.

like this life continued

until one day, we were found.

my first thought was to run

my second was to take you with.

but it was too late.

they cut you open,

banished to a lowered status.

but it was still lucky

that you lived.

years passed.

concubines aplenty,

though none ever

as patient

or satisfying

as you.
