Rain (Prologue)

Nahiko huffed as she dashed her way to school, her cheeks pale with fear and fatigue. (Crap..one more time I'm late and...) Her face shrivelled as she narrowed her eyes and stuck out her tongue. It wasn't her fault she was late, or so she convinced herself. She couldn't feel the sharp coolness on her skin anymore, all warmth on her clothes seemed to melt away as the rain poured like buckets.

"Izumi-san..?"

An old lady she was aqquainted stared as she bit her lip in worry, hovering her umbrella over Nahiko's soaked hair. Her usually shining pale pink hair now looked like someone barfed on her.. Nahiko strained an ugly smile, "GoOod MoOorni-GuaAh!" She dug her feet in the ground to stop herself but instead flung herself forward and impressively landed a face first onto a huge puddle of murky water. "Blegh! Pfft pffffft" Nahiko spat as hard as hard as she could, springing herself back up to realise the old lady was still standing there..

(Oh sh*t) she thought to herself

Time seemed to stop as Nahiko stood with shaking legs in front of the lady she'd been spitting in front of. The old lady held a hand over her face to conceal her giggles

"E..hehe..?"

Nahiko awkwardly laughed it off.

She bowed and sprinted off into the distance.
