26 Chapter 26

Lisa's POV

I had to idea where this girl was taking me, but I knew I wanted to go. I've always had a hunger for adventure myself and meeting someone who had that same longing felt like such a thrill.

The sparkle in her eyes was captivating, just as much as her smile and her entire aura drew me in to her.

Why do I believe everything she's telling me? No matter how outlandish everything seemed, it felt like reality to me. I felt like she was someone I could trust, which was a feeling I'd rarely feel with anyone.

"So you lived two hours away? Im sorry i didn't know." Jennie asked. Her hands were pushed inside the pockets of her jeans as she walked next to be on the side of the road.

"Yeah," I answered. "But its okay. I need to go out of that house too."

"Why did you change your name by the way?" Jennie asked. She pulled her coat off and tied it around her waist. I couldn't help but notice how slender she was, but not the skin and bones kind. It was like she looked perfectly fit even in a casual, loose shirt and jeans.

"oh that. It wasn't me, it was my grand parents." I pulled my bucket hat off to fix my hair, and then put it right back on after combing it with my fingers. "They change our names cause they try to conceal our identity since there's a foul play involved during the accident. We're intentionally hit, and everyone knows we're already dead."

"Oh" she gasped and look at me. "Thats impressive. You were in coma when they gave you the name, yet you introduced yourself to me as Lisa"

"Maybe its actually real that when a person is unconscious, they can still hear you. I guess they keep on calling me as Lisa, thats why in my subconscious, i thought my name was Lisa." I explained. I can barely remember anything.

Jennie smiled and stops from walking. "let's not talk about that, we should enjoy the life you had back."

"So what have you got planned for someone like me, then? You gotta make sure it's good, m'lady."

"Oooh, someone's hard to please?" she teasingly remarked.

"Well, they say if you've got good company, you'll enjoy doing pretty much anything," I grinned. "So I'm looking forward to doing anything with you tonight Jennie."

"Anything?" she raised her eyebrow.

"Anything," I confidently answered.

"Are you out of your mind?" I pedaled my bike faster, trying my best to catch up to Jennie. "What do you mean if we get caught?"

Jennie laughed as she stepped on the breaks of her bicycle, making her stop in the middle of the road. "Renting bicycles is only until seven and it's almost eight. But you will never see the best parts of Busan if you're in your car."

"So we'll just wait until we get caught then?" I breathed, leaning my arm against the handle. "This is your idea of an adventure?"

"Oh, I've only learned from the best, Lisa," she stepped in front of me and smirked.

"Alright, alright," I held my hands up. "If you think you're the bigger badass, then you've got your facts wrong, miss. I laugh in the face of danger."

"Mhmmm. That's a nice quote from Lion King," she giggled.

"Looks like we don't have time to discuss that now because..." I stopped when I noticed two men that looked like security walking behind us.

I went back on the bike and stood up while pedaling. "Race you from dusk to dawn, Jennie! Last one's a stupid monkey!"

"Hey you two! Come back here!" one of the i assumed securities called.

"Now this is the Lisa I know," Jennie beamed, before pedaling as fast as she could.

We sped down the road, gaining an easy advantage since the security guards were only chasing us by foot. I turned right to a dark alley, quickly followed by Jennie. We hid there for a few seconds until the security went to the opposite side of the streets.

"Is the coast clear?" Jennie whispered, poking her head from behind my shoulder.

"They're gone I think," I nodded.

"We're going to get in so much trouble when they find us," she anxiously shook her head. She looked even cuter when she was nervous. Damn, what was happening to me? First i can only remember her face, now im thinking she's cute? how.

"Looks like someone isn't so much of a badass anymore," I snickered. We were in a dark alley with sweat slowly trickling down our skin and barely enough space to move. No matter how uncomfortable the current situation was, I knew I didn't want to head home just yet. I already messaged Rosé that she can go home first.

"Well, I didn't think they'd actually come and trace us," she pouted. I couldn't help but ogle at her pink, plump lips. Her body was yearning for adventure but I could still see the sweet innocence in her expressive blue eyes.

"Since we had to go through all that, might as well make the most of the night," I smiled, slowly pulling our bicycles out of the alley as we made our way back to the middle of the road. "What else did you want to do besides steal girly, purple bicycles and run away from those poor old security men?"

She hopped back on her bike and motioned towards the exit of the road we were on. "I want to get lost in the city with you."

Jennie's POV

It was already way past midnight and we've done nothing but bike around the city. I showed her all the remarkable places in Busan.

The fact that she was just like the Lisa I knew in my dreams got me all thrilled. This was the literal definition of meeting the girl of my dreams and it couldn't get any better.

"You know what I just realized?" Lisa dropped her bike on the grassy ground and sat beside it. "It's already so late and we haven't eaten anything. My stomach's been grumbling so loud I was actually praying you wouldn't hear it."

"You make me forget about food," I shrugged, plopping down beside her.

She turned to me and smirked. "Is that a pick-up line? Because it's actually working.".

"Now that you mentioned it," I laughed, tossing my head back.

"I think food is the real standard for everything," she went on, staring into space like as if she was in deep thought. "If you love or like something more than food, then wow that's just a lot of love right there."

"Since we've established how amazing food is, I say we go grab some right now," I suggested.

Lisa quickly nodded in agreement. She offered her hand to me before pulling me right up with her. Our hands touching caused a little friction, making both of us jump back in surprise. It reminded me of the same spark I felt back in the dock when I first met her.

Her cheeks turned red as she looked around while stretching her arms behind her back. "Any good food places open at this time?"

"The good restaurants that are open late at night are all the way to the north side," I said, pointing to the opposite direction. "We passed by a convenience store just a few blocks away. That would do too."

"Judging by our recent acts of mischief, tangled hair, sweaty foreheads, grass and mud-filled jeans, I think we should go for the latter," Lisa looked down on her messy clothes. "The convenience store might be the only place we won't be kicked out of."

My mouth parted open as I consciously brushed my fingers through my hair. "Do I look . . . "

"You still look beautiful, Jennie," she chuckled, gently grabbing my wrist to force it back down.

"Oh," I blushed, losing myself in the moment for a second. "Uh, thank you."

Lisa picked our bikes up and unlocked the breaks. "Now I don't know about you, but I need to get myself a footlong sandwich before I collapse in hunger."

We biked back up to the convenience store in the road where we came from. Since it was already late, there weren't much customers buying.

We parked our bikes outside and went straight in.

Lisa got that footlong sandwich she was craving for plus a bottle of soda. I got a regular sized hotdog sandwich and some iced lemonade. No matter how hungry I was, I'd always feel distracted by the fact that we were actually hanging out and this was happening in real life.

"Mmmmm..." Lisa murmured as she took a bite of her sandwich. "Now that's heavenly. Everything is heavenly when you're starving."

I noticed I was actually staring at her mouth as she took a bite. I quickly shifted my attention to my own food before she even noticed.

"Why are you suddenly so quiet?" she asked, taking a sip of her drink. "Does food turn you into a different person?"

"Nothing," I felt my cheeks flush. "I just..."

"You just what?"

"I just feel like I'm dreaming."

"But you're not anymore."

"I know," I smiled. "And it couldn't get any better."

She wiped mustard off her lip with a tissue and grinned at me. "You're something else, Jennie Kim."

"I'm surprised you don't think I'm a crazy person yet," I bit my lip in embarrassment. "Or maybe you secretly do think that."

"We're all a little crazy, Jennie," she smiled. "But I think you might just be my kind of crazy."
