25 Chapter 25

Lisa's POV

I put my glasses on as I faced the screen of my laptop, ready to write. During the time im having therapies and wasn't able to walk, i began writing some sort of stories just to ease my boredom and didn't know I'll get hooked up on doing it.

I've been staring at it's screen for a while now but all I could think about was Jennie.

She was most certainly the strangest girl I've met. I've never encountered anyone like her before, but I was almost sure that I've seen her somewhere. Maybe I've bumped into her before and I just never had the chance to actually meet her? Maybe she's a student from my old school? The possibilities were endless.

The idea of having met her in my past life crossed my mind, but then I never really believed in those things.

Even more strangest is I'm not sure how come I can remember Jennie's face, I can't even easily identy my own and how the hell happened hers was registered. The first time I saw her at the cemetery, some of her facial features were imprinted inside my head and after that party, i think I can even draw her.

I sighed and just went on searching about my condition.

Prosopagnosia recognize only one face

Prosopagnosia cure

How to recognize others

No matter how much i tried, i can't find the answer. I closed my eyes and tried to see if there was going to be anything i will remember, but my mind was completely blank.

I sighed and open the documents where I've been writing my stories. I wasn't even halfway through it yet due to severe writer's block. I just noticed i have the weirdest writing technique where I write based on images I see in my head, like actual scenes and not just things that I imagine on purpose.

They were like short and vague flashbacks of some sort. The faces of the people weren't clear, but the story was there and that was what kept me going.

I closed my eyes and tried to see if there was going to be anything new that will inspire me for the story but then, nothing.

I groaned and took my glasses off. This was useless. I hated forcing myself in doing the things i want when I could seem to squeeze anything out of my brain, which was unfortunately not working right now.

Maybe I just needed more hours of sleep to recharge my brain. Hopefully I'll get atleast some sort of chance.

"Lisa im tired!!"

"Jennie we've been walking for exactly one minute. Don't act like we're going on a hiking trip."

"Yes, but I'm not exactly an outdoorsy person,"

"You will be now,"

"Are we there yet?"

"Well, maybe if you at least told me where we're going? That would really help my anxiety right now."

"Why are you even anxious? It's not like I'm bringing you out here to murder you."

"Or am I?"

"Ha-ha, very funny Manoban,"

"You know what, you should lighten up a  bit because you're really beautiful, but you frown like, eighty percent of the time."

"You see, I wake up in your office without a clue how I got there, and now you're dragging me up a rocky hill without giving me a reason why? And my feet are killing me."

"Next time, don't wear sandals when going outdoors,"

"But I didn't know we were going outdoors."

"Now you do."

"Wow this is a really stupid conversation."

"You bet."

"I'm tired!!!"

"Jennie, it's only been two freaking minutes get a grip."

"Yes, but you didn't exactly tell me how long it would take. For all I know it could be two minutes out of three hours."

"Lisa! No! Stop it!"

"Let go of me!"

"I'll only stop tickling you if you promise to stop being such a grouch and just enjoy the adventure with me,"

"Okay, okay, I'll stop!"

"See, that was easy,"

"And cruel,"

"What did I say?"

"Sorry,"

"I told you just be patient and we'll get here,"

"You just brought me up here to see the skies, right?" I asked, hoping she would say yes.

"Eh, don't push your luck, I would always come here to unwind and give myself a boost at the same time. Come on, let's jump while the tide is high."

"We're going to jump off??!!"

"Come on!"

Jennie's POV

I drummed my fingers on the shiny, oak table in Beantown Café. It was already seven PM the next day and I could feel my stomach churning. What if she decides not to show up because she thinks I'm some crazy woman? What if she just agreed to meet me here so I'd shut up about everything?

I should have asked for her number. I mean, I already hugged that woman the moment I saw her so I have no idea why I chickened out when it came to asking for her digits.

I glanced at the front facing camera of my phone and checked my hair. I looked decent; nothing was over done, no makeup, just a dab of tinted lip-gloss, and definitely not as flustered as yesterday. That will probably all change when she arrives.

If she arrives.

Irene surprised me from behind with a tight hug before sitting on the chair across me. "Jennie! Are you waiting for someone?"

"She's meeting Lisa." Seulgi pops behind me.

"Woa. You mean my childhood bestie?!!" Irene eyes widen.

"Its not what you think!" I roll my eyes and give Seulgi a glare.

Seulgi chuckled while tapping my shoulder. "Don't worry she'll come."

I sighed, checking the time. It was already five after seven and I was definitely starting to panic.

The glass door opens and I anxiously turned around. Instead of the person I hoped it would be, a girl who looked my age entered. She has black hair that dropped all the way down to her shoulders. A pair of expensive looking sunglasses covered her eyes, which perfectly matched the leather handbag she was carrying.

"What are you guys doing here?!!" I slouched my shoulders, Irene, Seulgi and Jisoo were here!

"Chill it's just an HR-staff-metting!," Seulgi explained but much better teasing.."

"Hi Jen!" Jisoo greeted me with a nod. "We're here to meet because I'm supposed to plan the next project."

"You might want to lower your voice," I awkwardly darted my eyes around.

Irene girl broke into a smile and check the time on her phone "Lets go?."

I cleared my throat and looked at both of them.

"Oh right!" Seulgi gave a playful grin. "Jennie, we'll just sit there" she motioned towards the table at the least back.

I opened my mouth and was about to protest when the front door opened for the second time. We turned around in unison, only to find Lisa and Rosé walking in. I felt my entire body freeze.

"Okay, that's our cue." Seulgi jumped off, while eyeing their table. They all stood up and give each other a cheek.

Rosé pursed her lips and looked at us "Hi, im so sorry if i join, Lisa still needs someone with her." she explained.

"Oh what are they doing here?!" Jisoo whispered in my ear before heading to Rosé.

"Oh my it's okay! Was it a continuation of drinking session we had?" Seulgi joked and earn a handful slap from Irene.

My eyes followed Lisa's figure as she slowly sat in front of me.

"Hi," she finally said as soon as she was settled.

"Hi," I smiled, trying my best not to ogle at her.

"Oopps I guess we need to go..." Seulgi never stops mocking as they went to their table.

"Rosé wanna join with us?" Jisoo called her.

"Sure!" she stood up quickly and follow them. What? I thought that was a HR-Staff-Meeting? I didn't know Rosé was part of it.

Going back to Lisa, she was wearing a gray shirt underneath a black leather jacket. Her hair was neatly rested inside the black bucket hat which looked really cute on her.

"Do you want anything?" I asked, circling my finger round the glass of chocolate drink I had ordered which was barely even touched.

"No thank you. I'm good for now, sorry if i bring Rosé with me, she insist." she politely explain.

"Its fine. I don't even expect them to be here too." I pointed at them.

"So how have you been?" she opened up.

I tucked a strand of hair behind my ear and forced myself to stop fumbling with my fingers. "I-I'm quite good, actually. Just tried to rest over the weekend. How about you?"

"Been trying to work with my memories, well im kinda working with writing stories." she said. "I'm still trying to bring back my old self."

"Speaking of old self..." I cocked one eyebrow up teasingly.

Lisa rolled her eyes and smiled. "Okay fine, I will tell you about it."

"Great!" I beamed. "I'm all ears."

Lisa crossed her arms and leaned against her chair. "Before we get there though, I want you to tell me why you're so curious about it?"

I paused for a while, thinking how I was going to word things out. I already told her about falling inlove with her in my dreams, so I doubt anything could get even creepier than that, at least for her.

"Okay, I'll tell you," I agreed, calmly taking a sip of my drink. "You see, in my dreams, you lived in Yeonsu"

"I lived in Yeonsu?" Lisa's eyes widened.

"Yes you did. And you own a café there." I said and took a sip of choco drink that i had since i came but i accidentally flick the straw causing the liquid to spill.

"Oh" Lisa grabbed a tissue and wiped the spot that got spilled on.

"Before you think that I'm some insane freak, can you listen to my side first?" I begged. I couldn't possibly scare her away, not now when she's finally here in front of me after all this time.

Lisa's eyes bore into mine. "Go ahead," she sighed.

"Okay," I took a deep breath, pushing the glass of drink away from me. "As I was saying, you lived in Yeonsu. We met in a dock, and then I'd see you there every night in my dreams since then. You breathed adventure. You always wanted a new one everyday. The second night we met in my dreams, you took me up a mountain of rock and. . . . "

"Made you jump off a cliff...?" Lisa finished for me, with a tone of uncertainty in her voice. "I've been writing your dreams, haven't I?"

"Yes..??" I whispered in disbelief. "Your story is my dreams? So what happened next??" i couldn't believe what were talking now.

"Nothing." Lisa shook her head. "That's where I stopped this morning."

I buried my forehead on the palm of my hands. "Oh my. This is... I didn't think this would happen. For a while I thought it was just a coincidence."

Lisa stared at me in complete shock. "... so you don't have powers?like mind reading?"

"I don't," I couldn't help but giggle. "It's called lucid dreaming and I don't think it's a power."

"How do you even do that?"

"It's like being able to control your dreams and continuing where you left off," I explained. "Mine's an extreme case though. How did you get the idea for this story if you haven't been dreaming about me?"

"I get sudden images and visions in my head after i woke up. It's like a certain memory of something that could have possibly occurred in real life or not," she said. "Like when we first met. It's like... i feel like i know you."

Lisa cleared her throat and leaned closer, plopping her forearms on the table. "That's the thing. I never remember my dreams."

"So you just wake up and don't remember anything you've dreamt of?" I asked.

"Mhmmm, that's the case," she nodded, looking quite sullen. "Sadly my nightlife isn't as exciting as yours."

I felt a sense of accomplishment and closure rush through my body. "That's it. I get it now. You don't remember your dreams, which is why seeing me was familiar to you, because there's a huge chance you've been dreaming about me too. That's also the same reason why you've been having these visions and flashbacks, which led to you writing a story about it. Since you don't remember your dreams, all you've got are memories of these special moments that had once occurred in your dreams."

"Woah, woah, woah," Lisa blinked twice, resting her elbow on the table. "Maybe that's why sometimes I get really bad writer's block. It's because I won't really know what to write unless I dreamt about it and wake up with a slight flashback of what happened."

"We're on the same page now," I grinned. "If you want to finish your story badly, I know for a fact that I can help you."

Lisa bit on her lip, giving me a doubtful look. "How?"

"You say these things happen in the morning, right? Whenever writer's block attacks you, I can help you recall all the wonderful moments we've had," I proposed. "I will lead you through the love story we once had."

A smirk slowly formed in the corners of Lisa's lips. "So I've been writing our love story this whole time?"

"Something like that," I blushed. This girl had to stop being so charming.

"Now come to think of it, you slightly resemble Jennifer," she mused. "No wonder I thought you're familiar."

"Jennifer?" I repeated.

"It's the name I gave the girl in my story. Let Me See You is a story about Jennifer and Lili."

"Let Me See You?," I chuckled. Weird title for a story.

Lisa shrugged and gave me a crafty smile. "Well, because i can't actually imagine how Jennifer looks like. I have face blindness, i can't recognize faces."

"You're what?"

"That's why I write down the stories i thought. To give life to it. Jennifer was faceless until i saw you at the cemetery."

"Wait. i don't get it." i stammered, i can't follow what is Lisa's saying.

"I can't remember anyone's face, even mine not until when i saw you, slowly you're face were imprinted inside my brain until after Irene's birthday, i can't seems to forget yours."

"So you mean, you can't recognize anyone in here?" I asked curiously and she nods.

"That's why Rosé is with me. Cause she's afraid that I'll get out of track."

"Thats hard." Its all i could say, i can't imagine a condition like this to be possible.

"well I can recognize them through their voice and remembers through the clothes they wore but.. yea." she said a littlw bit off. I guess she wasn't comfortable of talking about it.

"It's going to be okay. I'll help you. " I shook my head and smile at her. "Alright, that's it. We have to do this."

"Do what? "

"I will show you what dreams are made of, Lisa Manoban," I smiled, taking her hand in mine as I got out of my seat.
