23 Chapter 23

Around right o'clock and Irene's visitor slowly flooded into her house, her girlfriend Seulgi is the one who arranged everything together with their workmate/bestmate Jennie who is still stucked at the traffic along her way.

Irene took the drinks and arrange it on the set up mini bar.

"Where's Jennie?" the birthday girl asked her girlfriend who answer her with a shrug.

"I'll call her." Seulgi said before she walks outside the house and went to the least noisy spot.

After Seulgi left, Irene finished arranging the drinks and went to Rosé and Lisa's table together with some of her workmates.

"Hey." Irene tug her arms around one of her workmates neck. "You seems enjoying each others company huh?"

"Hahaha Irene unnie. this girl is really a mood! She's so funny!" Rosé said a bit slurry as she sip another drink..

"Yah. Im not funny, im cool!" the woman with a heart shaped lip hissed. "Beside Lisa is so funny too!!"

Irene shift at Lisa who is a bit red from drinking.

"Woaa heavy drinker??"

Lisa's POV

I thought its just a simple celebration and i guess im wrong, the party was huge and theres a lot of visitors around our age. The party lights illuminates to every corner of my eyes, everyone looks so happy, so is this chipmunk enjoying the company of Irene's workmate.

"Where's Seulgi?" i heard Rosé suddenly asked, her face was red and i can tell she's already having more that she can take.

"ow yeah where's that girlfriend of yours??" the small girl between us asked, her name was Jisoo.

I drank another glass of and slammed it back on the counter once I was done.  I looked over at the server and motioned towards the bottle on the table. "Can I have another glass please?" I missed the taste of alcohol.

"Well she called our....Oh there she is!!" Irene blurted pointing at the direction behind me. I look back to see who it is and there a woman wearing white longsleeve together with a girl wearing black coat and shorts approaching us.

"Jennie!!!!" Irene squealed. Jennie?

Feels like I've heard that name before.

Before I even realized it, the girl was already out of the crowd and standing frozen in front of us.

"It's you," she said to me, sounding like she was going to cry. "Lisa..."

She knows my name? Wait. That voice.. . .

All of a sudden, she took my hand "I'd never thought I'd see you again." I've heard that voice.

But then, what on earth is this girl talking about? Was I that drunk? Am I just imagining things?

I didn't know how I was going to react to be honest. I didn't want to be rude, but I really didn't know her. I slowly pushed her off me in the gentlest way that I could.

"Excuse me? How do you know me?" I asked.

"Yeah Jennie? you know her?" I heard Irene spoke and stood in between us. I suddenly felt a hand on my shoulder and it was Rosé.

"Rosé?" Jennie said.

"Uhm Yeah. Irene unnie. We met at the uhm..park! Yeah right Jennie?" Rosé said making up stories.

I just stared at her as I tried to process what was going on. At least I think I didn't know her. She looked really familiar though, I just couldn't put my finger on it. She had wavy, brown hair that dropped just below her shoulders. Her catlike eyes looked like she's about to tear up.

"Y-yeah." she said still staring at me.

"OHH!! Nice! what a small world!! Well then, Jennie i thought you wouldn't come!!!" Irene break the awkward situation. She took Jennie with her but the girl still looking at me like i did something to her.

Oh god. Was she okay? What if she's crazy? How am I supposed to deal with this?

"She's the girl you met at the cementery, the one you said hugged you." Rosé reminded me.

"Yeah i remember her." i told her and went back facing the table.

"Is everything alright?" Jisoo asked. I nod at her and lifts the glass before i took another shot.

"Jennie was a bit weird sometimes but she's very kind." Jisoo said while munching the nachos i didn't know where it came from.

Rosé and Jisoo kept on talking and i just stood here still thinking About that Jennie. When i met her at the cementery, she look at me like i we've known each other for too long.

Not so long, Irene came back with Seulgi and Jennie. I recognize them through the dress they wore.

"We should sit there." Irene pointed at the round table on the left side of the pool.

Rosé clung on me as we transfer. Irene sat beside Seulgi then Jennie, after her was three empty seat. Jisoo took the chair beside Irene followed by Rosé, the only chair left empty was in between Rosé and Jennie.

"Aren't you going to sit?" Rosé asked.  I momentarily blink a few times before i took the seat. I don't know whats wrong but i can sense somethings going on with Jennie and the way she look at me makes me afraif of her.

"So yeah! im happy you're here!! Yeey!! So you know Seulgi already, my one and only love. so this Jennie, she's my friend and this loud mouth is Jisoo, this is Rosé and Lisa which you've alreadt met Jennie, they are my childhood besties." Irene introduced us to each other.

I just smile at them.

"okay okay okay!! enough with that! Lets just drink!!" Seulgi offers a bottoms up and we did the same.

After i don't know how many glass i took, i already felt the alcohol in me. Not mentioning the girl beside me who keeps on giving me a look.

"Why you keep on looking at me?" I asked innocently. I didn't want to sound rude or anything. This whole scenario was just really strange.

"Because I cant believe you're actually here.," she answered.

"Why?"

"Just..." she stuttered. "Just because."

"Fine then," I shrugged. "What's your name?"

"Jennie."

"I mean,What's your last name?"

"Kim," she answered quietly.

"Oh sounds fancy." I remarked.  

It really was a beautiful name. Sounded like a pure Korean or something. It sounded familiar too.

"I'm pretty sure we've had this exact conversation before," she chuckled.

"Huh?" I cocked my head to the side. This girl wasn't making any sense at all really.

"Nothing, Lisa." she shook her head.  

"Are you going to tell me why you know me yet?" I asked.

"Maybe when you're sober," she said.

"I'm not drunk," I rolled my eyes.

I'm not drunk. I swear I'm not. I think I'm not? Oh god. I don't even know what was happening anymore.

"That's what all drunk people say."

I sighed and just shrug it . Of course she was going to say that. Jennie ended up talking something about how she knows Mino and how we ended up metting at the cemetery but she skipped the part on how did she know me. While were busy chatting, the others are busy talking about their lovelife, which i found odd as i witnessed how Jisoo flirts with Rosé.

"I really don't. I have no idea why I'm even considering telling you about it." Jennie chuckle and gulp another glass. I think she's drunk even more.

"Don't worry. I'm not someone who who will not gossip about you," i joked out. I looked up at her and smiled. I guess she was harmless after all.

"So do you have a siblings? younger or older?" She asked comfortably. Her words were a little slurr.

"Yeah i have one younger sister."

"Little sister...Lilly?" she asked, looking like as if she was going to faint. Her face looked really pale and this time, it really looked like she was about to cry.  

"Uh, Lilly...?" I bit my lip as i move the chair closer.

It was a good thing I did, because right at that very second, she did pass out. I caught her with my arms and her head fell on my chest.

I tried waking her up by softly pinching her cheeks and wiggling my arms, but she didn't budge. I didn't really have the energy to get up and carry her weight yet, so I just sat there and stared at her.

"Uhm guys?" I tried calling their attention.

"KNOCK OUT!!!" Jisoo stood up and starts counting. "9,..10!!! EEENGG!!"

"what the hell!!" Seulgi hissed and they all laughed in unision.

"Oh my god Jennie!" Irene chuckled and went on my side. "Can you help me carry her to my room?" Irene asked looking at me. I was hesitant but i don't want to look bad so i did.

"Uhhh Jennie you're so heavyy!!" Irene said as we walk inside the house.

I couldn't help but to look at Jennie's unconscious face.

There was something about the way she touched me, the way she said my name, and the look on her face when we first gazed into each other's eyes. I do not know who she is, and why she seemed so surprised to see me, but I felt like I've already seen this face.

Her long lashes.

Her soft hair.

Her face.

Her cat like eyes.

Her cute and calming voice sounded really familiar as well.

It felt really strange and thats when i realized that i can recognize her face. Her facial features was registered on my brain.

Jennie's POV

I opened my eyes and found myself in a dark room with only one lamp to light up the place. I nearly fell off the bed when I noticed that I was in someone else's room.

I know I saw Lisa at Irene's party. That wasn't a dream, was it?

I ran out of the door and realized that I was in Irene's house. I saw Seulgi seated at the floor looking at her drunk ass girlfriend.

"Seul!" I gasped, holding on to the doorknob.

Seulgi quickly stood up, looking alarmed after I burst into her girlfriends room. "Woah, woah, why are you up? Are you okay? Do you feel dizzy? Do you feel pain anywhere?"

"My head hurts, but...." My voice trailed off when I finally caught on to what she was saying. "Wait, what are you talking about?"

"You passed out a couple of hours ago," she sighed. "You fainted in Lisa's arms. I think," Seulgi said in a really slow tone, as if she was anticipating my reaction.

I felt my eyes widen as I gasped. "Oh my god, so it is true! I did see her! Seulgi! Oh my god, she looked so fucking good, and she smelled amazing even if she was drunk, and i "

"Ssshhh," Seulgi covered my mouth with her hand. "She's sleeping on the other room."

"She's what??" I shrieked.

Seulgi covered my mouth again and pulled me inside the room, quietly closing the door behind me. "You really need to tone it down Jennie"

"Oh my god, she's sleeping here?" I yell-whispered Pointing at the wall.

"Well both Lisa and Rosé were drunk, I offered to drive them home, but then they were so drunk, they can't even explain clearly their address, so they just crashed on the couch, Jisoo helped me transfer them to the guest room cause Irene can't even stand straight." Seulgi explained. "Don't be so oblivious Jen."

I let out a deep sigh, still basking in a mixture of shock and disbelief. "I can't believe she's really acquainted With Irene. And she's freaking sleeping here in her house."

"Can I see her one last time before I go back to sleep?" I asked. "That is if I can even go back to sleep."

Seulgi looked hesitant but nodded anyway. "Alright, but you have to be really quiet. Don't freak out or you'll wake them up. It's already weird enough that the girl in your dreams is here.ugh."

"It is actually weird," I mused as we both tiptoed out. Irene was lying on the carpet, sleeping soundly now. "It's actually a good thing that she's drunk or I probably wouldn't have seen her again."

Before going to the guest room, I went back to the room I was sleeping in and got a new blanket. I'm sure there weren't enough blankets for them.

A soft gasp came out of my mouth when I saw her sleeping soundly on the couch on the side. She'd let out a little snore every time she'd breathe, and it was actually really cute. I know I already saw her earlier, but this still felt so surreal to me.

I stood on the edge of the couch and watched her in her slumber. Her nose and lips were very prominent, just some of the things that made her look like a complete angel.

I felt every urge to reach out and touch her face again, but I knew I couldn't possibly risk waking her up and giving her the fright of her life. The tears were already brimming in my eyes. It was just so pathetic that I could easily burst into tears any second.

This precious woman in front of me made me even more emotional and I couldn't say that I regret it at all.

"Jennie," I saw Seulgi whispering as she stood at the doorway "It's three am, let's get some sleep."

I unfolded the blanket in my hands and carefully covered Lisa's body all the way to her arms to prevent her from getting chills.

I gave Seulgi a nod and followed her while glancing back at Lisa every second. This was going to take some getting used to. I hope she's still there when I wake up a couple of hours from now.
