Make it stop, please Notebook, make the pain stop. I don’t understand how or even why it happened, but I made Gared furious today.

A classmate of ours talked to me about a class project, he was asking about a similar topic that we both had to do for research, and Gared suddenly dragged me back home to scold me. He told me to never talk to the man again, and when I asked why, he slapped me.

Gared said that I shouldn’t be so open with other men when I’m already married to him. He had a furious look in his eyes and his whole face started to turn red. I tried to explain to him that I did nothing of the sort but he slapped me again.

I fell to the ground and started crying from the pain. It seemed like seeing me cry made him angrier as he wouldn’t stop creating new bruises on my body. I couldn’t talk or fight back as he shouted at me and punished me for letting another man talk to me.

His anger only seemed to rise after every new bruise that he created. I knew my tears fueled his anger, but they could not stop. I had to control them but the shock and the immense pain from what was happening prevented them from stopping.

It was all my fault, and I deserved every bruise. I should have known better than to talk with anyone. After the incident, I looked at myself in the mirror, bandaged and bruised, it brought a lot of memories. The only difference was that Mr. and Mrs. Taylor always avoided my face, as to not allow anyone to start asking questions.

Gared, in anger, did not care. After he snapped out of it, he brought me to a hospital, where the doctor seemed to be a close family friend. No one asked me any questions as to what happened. They just treated me and sent me home right after.

Gared was quiet the whole ride, and once we got home, he turned to me and said “I hope you learned your lesson, Belle.”

I didn’t get the chance to reply though as he just left me right after. I did learn what lesson he meant Notebook, never anger Gared, and never raise my hope for anything ever again.
