37 Epilogue

The book of Luke, chapter 6, verse 28 says “bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.” It feels like this verse will be my goal this coming new year.

So much has happened this year. I started the year not thinking about anything but avoiding the “family sessions” and now, I’m ending it in a warm cozy living room with a mother and a father that care for me. That’s right, Martha and Gabriel finally adopted me. They insisted that I should call them mom and dad.

I never really thought that any of this could be possible. Gared and Mr. and Mrs. Taylor are spending their New Year in jail while I get to spend it in front of the fireplace with a cup of hot coffee while waiting for midnight to strike. I thought that this would be the perfect time to fill in the last page and tell you what has happened the whole week.
