18 Entry Eighteen

I read a new book today. It was really heartbreaking. The book’s name is “The Child Called It”. It’s a true story about a boy who was treated very poorly by his parents. He had a couple of siblings but he was the only one treated that way.

I found it weird how his parents only treated him like that and no one else. I started wondering if he did anything to deserve his punishments, but as I read through it, he didn’t do anything bad at all. He was quiet and barely spoke, but even his siblings were encouraged to treat him poorly.

The child went through so many things, such as being trapped in a room with the smell of ammonia suffocating him or being forced to sleep in a cold, dark and cramped space. I feel very lucky that Mr. and Mrs. Taylor had never done that to me.

It had a happy ending though, he managed to escape the place and gain his freedom, but I can’t help but think about how he would survive alone. The book is a trilogy, but I couldn’t find the other two books that followed this one. I was hoping to know if he ever found his happiness.

After reading the book, I started to think about everything that Mr. and Mrs. Taylor had done. But they were not my real parents. It’s a little different from what the child went through.

I hope he lived happily after he left that house. The book was a true story, so I can only hope that the child who went through such hardships is finally living freely.

It feels hypocritical to say all this though, I wonder why. Notebook, what about you? I’m writing my story on you, after all, I wonder how you feel knowing about my story.
