14 Chapter 14 - Building a new house
Over the next year, the Parker family began working on their massive project,

Now let's move inside the wall, Brandon decided to make a 5-storey building near the east wall, 1 of these 5 will be underground.
On the ground floor there will be something like a reception room, a common room with billiards, tables for playing cards, etc., a security room and four more that will be used for their housing at the moment, but later they will be converted into a medical room, offices, etc.
The second floor will have 4 guest rooms, a kitchen, a food storage and a large dining room.
The third and fourth floors are planned as fully residential with 8 rooms each.
There will be solar panels on the roof of the building.
The underground floor will consist of a laundry room, a large material storage, an armory and a generator room.
The project, of course, cannot be mastered by only 4 people, so they decided to build 2 floors for now - underground and 1, and only then, when free hands appear, they will continue to build.
By the way, Brandon decided that each living room and bedroom will have a bathroom, with shower and toilet.
Opposite the Main Building will be a greenhouse that will produce food all year round. Just below the greenhouse, in the southwest corner, there will be a pasture where their animals will graze. In the southeast corner, there will be a water treatment plant that cleans not only the collected water, but also the water from the sewerage system, and there is also a discharge of water from a pipe from a cliff.
To the northeast will be Brandon's favorite place, his workshop.
It will be a 3-storey building, the 1st floor will be the workshop itself, on the 2nd floor there will be his recreation room, and on the 3rd floor there will be an observation point, from here he will be able to observe the district and its base.
In the north-west there will be windmills, as well as a training ground with a shooting range and all the necessary equipment, you will need to improve the skills of your people.
A year after the family reunion, the Parkers completely filled the entire area of their base with concrete, set up the sewers and began to make a basement for the main building and a greenhouse.
After another year, a greenhouse was built, the basement was completed and the construction of the 1st floor began, but now they at least had a place in the basement where they could sleep indoors.
By the way, after 1 year of construction, Brandon began to spread information about the search for settlers.
When they finished building the basement, they were joined by 2 families, Miller and Brown.
Both families were young by pre-war standards.
The Millers consisted of 19-year-old Jackson and 17-year-old Victoria.
