2 A Name.

The Avengers were staring at the sky where minutes ago the Man of Iron physically redirected and carry a Nuclear missile into space.

"The portal is gone." Said the redheaded super-assassin from the tower.

"I know." Said the blond-haired super-soldier.

"It's not your fault." Said the archer.

"He is alive." Said the warrior.

"We can hope Thor" replied rogers

"The man of Iron is alive and according to Heimdall is on his way back." Said the eternal warrior.

"How?" asked well everyone.

"He says The man of Iron found an interesting ally"

Steve just looked at him and was about to say something when the portal opened again this time green.

"Romanoff, what's the situation?"

"The device is Inactive. I don't know how..."

She stopped when a single black and green ship came through the portal before it closed up on its own.

"Get ready fo.."

"That is the Man of Iron and his ally," said Thor before he flew to the tower.

The ship landed on the helipad and the green separated from it forming a 9ft tall humanoid being with black skin and green circuitry all over it and Iron man sitting on a metal seat surrounded by debris.

The humanoid was just staring into space while Iron man got up kneeled over the side poped his faceplate and promptly threw up.

"Kid, The next time you think of going FTL give your passengers a warning"

The Humanoid didn't answer.

"Kid?" Asked Stark worried as he got up and went closer.

"It is good to see that you are fine, good friend." Said Thor as he landed.

"Yeah, latter point-break something is wrong with the kid." Said Stark pointing at the humanoid.

"Who is.."

"STAY BACK!" said Thor as he got in between Tony and the humanoid.

"What was that pointbreak?"

"That was 'Buaxnoreesh' an ancient and forgotten language used by cosmic beings and it mentioned something about a 'fail safe'"

The humanoid was covered in a golden light that blinded everyone and when it died there was a naked 4-year-old boy with brown spiky hair and pale skin laying on the ground unconscious.

Thor and Tony were stumped not knowing what to do when Natasha came and checked the boy's vitals and looked at them with a grave look on her face.

"His vitals are fading"

That was enough to get them moving.

"Bring him in I have a medic kit. JARVIS prep the med-bey and someone keep an eye on the wannabe god" Said Tony as he started walking in while his armor opened up.

Hulk landed and grunted before sitting in front of Loki.

"Sir, Miss Potts is on the line"

"Shit, Pepper I love you, Emergency, Talk to you later bye." Said Tony as he ended the call.

Everyone on the roof that was conscious just stared at him.

"What?" asked Tony.

"Metalman being stupid." Said Hulk with a huff.

"Did you just...? We will talk about this later we have a kid to save, move it, people!"

Few days later.

"Any changes?" Asked tony as he watched the Kid hooked up to IVs and all sorts of monitoring devices.

"The same as always Mr.Stark we just have to wait for him to wake up" Replied the doctor who left after reporting.

"He is going to be fine Tony and you know it." Said pepper as held his hand.

"It's just...you know he said he was just a few hours old and I didn't believe him...I just.."

"It's not your fault alright. You didn't know and if he is as young as you say he is, He probably didn't know either. So stop beating yourself over it and get some rest. I will watch over him"

Tony looked into her green eyes and sighed.

"That look is cheating" Complained tony before kissing her on the forehead and leaving.

"Tell me immediately if anything happens okay?" asked Tony on his way out.

"I will" answered pepper.

She waited for a few seconds and went into the room sat on the sofa and opened her laptop as much as she was worried about Tony Stark Industries was not going to run itself.

She got so engrossed in her work that she did not notice the kid sit up and stare at her for 5 whole minutes.

When she did she was mesmerized by his green eyes which were just as green as hers and felt like if she and Tony had a kid he/she would look like that and she shook her head clearing her thoughts.

"Hello" called pepper.

"Who are you? What is this place? Why am I a Homo-Sapien? Where is Tony? Why is my throat burning? Why are all these monitoring devices hooked to me? Why do.."

"Stop! stop, I will answer your questions but first drink this" Said pepper as she handed him a glass of water.

He just took it and stared at it.

"What's wrong?"

"What is this? and what is 'drink'?Why can't I absorb it?" Said the kid as he stared at the glass of water.

Pepper froze and recalled what Tony said about the kid and smiled.

"The liquid is called water and that is essential for Humans. You drink by placing it in your mouth and swallow it" Said Pepper while demonstrating at the same time which the kid mimicked.

"How do you feel?" Asked pepper after the kid had downed the entire glass of water.

"Relived but my stomach still hurts dose that mean I require sustenance?"

"Yes, It means you require food" Said pepper with a chuckle

The kid tilted his head and asked.

"Where will I find this 'food'?"

Pepper burst out laughing which caused the kid's face to take on a confused yet curious expression.

"Sorry, I should not have laughed." said pepper smiling.

"What was that sound you made? It was nice to hear."

"It's called laughter. I am Pepper Potts, Tony's girlfriend. Nice to meet you" she said extending her hand only for him to look at it and then at her face and copied her and extend his hand which she shook.

"I don't have a name. I am currently human and Um what was that? What is a 'Girlfriend'?" Said the kid.

"It's called a handshake. It is a greeting, I will tell you what it is when you are older alright? Let me just call the doctor and Tony he has been worried about you"

"What's a 'doctor'?"

Peper kept smiling but they no longer reached her eyes.

"A 'Doctor' is someone who tries to fixes people if there is something wrong with them"

The kid nodded and looked outside the window with curious eyes.

Pepper left the room and she lost her smile it was replaced with worry she called Tony and the doctors.

By the time Tony came back, The doctors were done checking up on the kid.

"Tony there is something wrong with the kid." Said pepper as soon as she spotted him.

"What's wrong with him?"

"It's like he is seeing the world for the first time"

"He did say he was born a few hours ago a few days ago so he might not be aware of what he can and can't do. Let's talk with him and teach him how to take care of himself alright?"

Peper nodded. He went into the room.

"How are you feeling kid?"

The kid turned and Tony stop and looked at his eyes and then at his girlfriend's eyes and then back at him.

The kid didn't notice his confusion but gave him a radiant and happy smile.

"I feel quite good and this place has something called 'food' which makes me feel satisfied and happy. " Said the boy as his smile was replaced with a frown.

"But this form is weird, I can sense all sorts of energies that I wasn't able to sense before"

"Let's leave the meta-physical talk for later okay?" asked Tony trying really hard not to think about what he just said.

The kid just nodded.

"what 's your name?"

"I don't have one"

"But you need a name"

"Then give me one"

"Are you sure you want me to give you a name?" asked Tony seriously the kid looked like a copy of him with pepper's eyes and that was giving him weird feelings in his chest and not because of the arc reactor.

"On second thought no, discuss it with pepper. She is your 'girl friend'-which seems important - and judging from your reaction giving someone a name is something important. But I still don't get why you are fixated on a name it's not like there are others of my kind or at least I think there aren't. "

" A name is important kid, for many reasons and you are right I need to talk with pepper about important stuff." Said Tony as he ruffled his head and went out to talk with pepper who was busy with a phone call.

"Pepper"

Pepper looked at him and then hung up the phone and turned towards him and asked a silent question with her eyes.

"I am thinking of adopting him at least until he grows up".

She looked at him with a shocked expression on her face which was soon replaced by confusion.

"Okay? Why are you seeking permission from me?"

Tony's face took on an embarrassed expression and told her about his conversation with the Kid. Which caused her to laugh which in turn caused tony to smile.

"So what do you think?" Asked tony after her laughter had died down.

"Sure, why not? Doing this might at least let us what to expect when we have our own" Pepper who realized what she just said looked away in embarrassment while Tony's brain was both broken down and moving at lightspeed at the same time he had no idea about what was going on with him and he hated that.

"So...Let's talk with him first okay?" Said pepper breaking the strange silence that had plagued the both of them.

"Yeah let's." Said Tony.

Few minutes and an explanation later.

"How did you go from naming me to becoming my parents?"

"Well for one thing you look like a younger version of me and you have the same eyes as Pepper."

The Kid pointed at himself as if asking I do? which tony ignored and pepper nodded.

"And you saved my life and brought me back home. Plus you are a kid in every sense of the word so I couldn't just leave you alone"

"Tony I think you need to understand something. I am not 'human'."

"I know and I don't care." Interrupted Stark.

"Then thanks I guess?" Replied the kid with confusion as he didn't know what to do next.

Pepper and Tony released the breath they were holding.

"You are welcome, Aron." Said pepper.

"So, my name is Aron?"

"Aron Stark to be precise" supplied Tony.

"Aron Stark" the kid no Aron repeated the name multiple times familiarizing himself with it.

"Right, Tony could you bring together people who are responsible for the defense of the planet? There is something I need to tell you all. Pepper included"

"Why me too?" Asked pepper.

"Well you are nice and I want you to know more about me considering you are going to be my parent, and to prevent him from doing something stupid like going to space without proper equipment."

"Hey!" Tony protested but then he felt peppers eyes on him.

"But first let's get you some clothes and propper food" ammended Tony.
