3 Chapter 3. See you Again

The cappuccino smell spoiled Naya's nose. She liked it when the cold air of her favourite hot cappuccino started to touch her skin.

Naya got a call from Putra that night. They talked for a long time.

"Hey burnt girl, how are you?" A special greeting from Putra.

"Can you stop calling me that?"

"Why? That's a love call for you." Putra chuckled at the end of the call.

"Tch, It's useless. You're teasing me!" Naya protested.

"Hahaha, relax. Don't be so insistent."

"You'll see. I'll make you can't recognise me, so you won't be able to tease me anymore."

"Don't be cranky. Please don't do anything with you."

"Why? Who cares?"

"I'm serious. I don't want you to become more ... ugly, hahaha.." Putra was still teasing Naya.

"You bastard never change! Always teasing me like you have nothing else to do!" Naya complained.

"Hahaha, bullying you is so much fun." Putra chuckled.

"Whatever! You can never be advised." Naya relented.

"Okay, alright. Are you going home on vacation?"

"I don't know. I don't have any plans to go home yet."

"Don't you miss me?" Putra teased her again.

"Actually, I'm just reluctant to meet someone," Said Naya doubtfully.

"Ah, you still can't move on from him? Wake up Nay! It's been four years. Come on, Naya, move on." Putra tried to persuade Naya.

"I will always be ready to help. After all, three of us are friends and have passed many memories together. It never hurts for us to restore our friendship." Putra persuaded her again.

"Ah, but I'm embarrassed. Where should I put my face on?" Naya complained.

"Just put it on my ass if you want, hahaha." Putra laughed out loud.

He was delighted to get the joke.

"You, bastard! I am sick of it!"

"Hey, you haven't tried it yet, right? How do you know the taste then?"

"Whatever!"

"Okay, sorry. I was just kidding. Come home, I'll help you later. I promise."

Naya considered Putra's words. She thought she should try it.

However, she couldn't be like this forever, continually avoiding everything related to her past.

"Well, let's try it."

"Well, I see. This is Naya I know. An energetic, confident, accomplished and loyal girl, of course."

"Yup, no need to praise me too much."

"Hahaha, but I'm serious.. That's how I see you in my eyes."

"Ah, not a burnt girl anymore?" Naya quipped.

"Hehe, still!"

"Okay. Well, I have a lecture tomorrow morning. I have to go to bed early tonight. Let's talk again next time."

"Okay, take care of you, burnt girl."

"Huh! You start again. Bye!"

Naya closed her phone with a happy smile because of a strange young man.

Chatting with Putra was quite comforting. He always knew how to put her in a good mood.

Naya returned to her usual routine. Her life was now very different from her previous life.

The changes from adolescence to adulthood and the circumstances of living independently in the outside country made her think more wisely.

The circumstances had matured her.

Without realizing it, four years have passed since Naya left her parents' house.

Now, the semester breaks had arrived. Naya had already made up her mind and made the decision to return to Indonesia.

Putra returned from London today as well as Naya who was from California. They had an appointment at the airport.

After several hours on the air, Naya's plane finally landed.

She immediately turned on her phone as soon as she walked out of the international passenger arrival gate.

Tring ...

A message came in.

*I've been waiting for you in the airport waiting room* A message from Putra.

'Hmm, how is Putra now? Is he still how he used to be?'

Naya smiled, remembering their memories from high school.

Naya looked into every chair in the waiting room, looking for a masculine man with a cool and mischievous style.

He had no equal.

Naya gave up. The airport was quite busy, and she couldn't find Putra. She then took out her phone to dial Putra's number.

A dial tone was heard, waiting to be picked up by the owner.

Tuuts ... tuuuts ... tuuut ...

"Hello." A voice was heard at the end of the call.

"Where are you?" Naya asked while looking around.

"I was standing by one of the big poles, near the billboard. Can you see me?" Putra also started looking for the figure of the burnt girl he missed.

Putra thought that he wouldn't misidentify her. He was quite sure Naya was the only one who had a typical sunburned skin.

Putra held back laughter, remembering his best friend.

"Ah, yes. I saw a man standing at the end. Look back. Our distance is quite far, but I can see you." Naya described.

She then waved at Putra.

Putra immediately turned around.

"Is it true? Is that you?... Wow! what a special surprise!" Putra was amazed by Naya.

Naya closed her phone, walked slowly toward him.

Putra was still in shock and still stood looking at Naya who was getting closer. His phone was still stuck to his ears, and his mouth was slightly open.

Naya smiled so pretty and walked gracefully to him.

Naya wore a bright yellow dress with wide knees waving at the bottom. She also wore a jeans jacket and a small backpack on a matching back, and her left hand was dragging a small suitcase.

Her hair was straight back and slightly wavy at the ends, waving in the wind, and looked charming with her pure white face without blemishes and natural make-up applied.

"Don't be stunned too much, you will get caught."

Naya sneered Putra as soon as she arrived in front of him.

"Ah, you're amazing!" Putra was still fascinated by Naya's change.

"Thanks. Have you been waiting for a long time?"

"Nope, I just got here too. By the way, what happened to you? You're so pretty now."

"You're handsome too." Naya smiled at Putra's appearance changes.

She began to judge.

'Hmm, Putra is still okay until now.' She thought.

He looked so relaxed in shorts, a white T-shirt that was tight on his body, so sexy.

White sneakers and a white hat flipped backwards, adding to his perfect appearance.

"Hey I'm serious Nay, you're so beautiful now." Putra still kept praising her.

"Ah never mind. Enough chit chat. Let's get something to eat. I'm already hungry." Naya embraced Putra's arm.

For a moment, Putra's face was slightly flushed.

"Okay, come on. What do you want to eat?"

"Uhm, I miss eating satay. Shall we look for street foods?"

"Argh, you. It's been a long time living in the outside country but still like street food."

"Why? The important thing is it's nice and clean. One more thing, save money!"

Naya had a cute smile, making Putra even more embarrassed.

"You're not like most conglomerate children. You're still a humble-simple girl."

"Hey, you're not Putra I used to know."

"What's wrong?"

"Yup, I'm just surprised you don't call me burnt girl anymore. You really like to call me like that, right?!"

"You're not burning anymore."

"Oh yeah? Then what?"

"You are an angel now."

"Hush, don't be ridiculous," Said Naya.

Putra laughed to cover his awkwardness.

"Why are you laughing?" Naya protested.

"I don't think I misjudged. You are a unique girl. If other women would like to be given luxury, surprises, eating in elite places and romantic trips abroad, you are different." Putra kept looking at Naya.

"Stop! You are too much. You will overdose! Stop in front of Mr Joni. Pull the car."

"Let's go down." Naya invited.

A few moments later, the satay that Naya ordered was ready.

She immediately ate it.

"Wait, your mouth is dirty." Putra immediately wiped Naya's mouth, which was covered with peanut sauce.

For a split second, they looked at each other.

This was Putra's first chance to see Naya from such a close distance.

He stared at Naya without blinking, and his eyes felt tough to look away from her.

"Thank you," Said Naya, breaking Putra's reverie.

Ah, what happened to Putra? He couldn't stand her now, seeing Naya so pretty.

Hahaha, he won't be able to call Naya a burnt girl again.

To be continued…
