13 CHAPTER:13

As soon as Elara and Marshall are out of the police station. She turns to glare at him, annoyed. "What was that for?"

Marshall looks at her, "What was what for?" -he asks, confused.

"Don't act dumb right now. You looked like you wanted to murder Jake. Why were you staring at him like that?" -she asks, crossing her arms over her chest. After a moment of silence, "Were you jealous perhaps?" -she adds, trying to tease him.

Marshall lets out a scoff. "Jealous? Me? Keep dreaming, bunny. That's just absurd."

"Don't call me bunny." -she retaliated as soon as those words leave his lips.

"Yet you act like one. Biting your own nails especially when you get nervous. What, you thought I didn't notice?"

"We're going off track here! Can we not talk about my issues? You still haven't told why you were staring at him like that?" Elara is clearly surprised when he brings her nail biting habit up, he's already noticed. She shakes her head, waiting for him to answer her question.

"I just don't like him." -he says, shrugging. "He doesn't exactly seem like good news."

"And what makes you say that, Mr. Marshall Wyatts?"

He lets out a soft sigh. "Mrs. Marshall. Are you questioning your husband? He simply l gives off a bad vibe to me. Who knows, maybe he's your stalker?"

Elara lets out a scoff this time. "You seriously need to stop doubting random people. I have seen him after over four years. I don't go around assuming anyone could be that stalker of mine."

"Well.." -Marshall walks up closer to her. His tall frame towering over her. "Maybe that's why you're still so clueless as to who your stalker is." -he says softly, but his face holds different expressions. Disgust? Concern?

Elara glares at him, clearly pissed off at what he's saying. She lets out a soft breath, and turns on her heels and start walking back to the car.

"Drop me back to the café." -she says as she sits in the passenger side, closing the door behind her. Marshall shakes his head and chuckles to himself.

"Doesn't matter who I marry. In the end, I'll have to become these women's personal servant. Do everything they have to say."

. . .

Elara is back at the cafe, Marshall left as soon as he dropped her off. She sighs, she knows she shouldn't expect anything from him. This marriage is just a.. show after all.

To keep his reputation intact, and her uncles too.

She's deep in her thoughts, when from behind her someone grips her shoulders, scaring her. "Boo!"

Elara lets out a loud gasp, as she turns around. "Oh, come on, Hana! You scared me!" -she says, her hand on her chest, trying to calm her panicked heart. Hana has a habit of pulling such silly pranks. Elara can never seem to get used to them.

"Marshall dropped you?" -She asks, chuckling.

"Yes, he did. We came from the police station. Oh- guess who I met, at the police station?" -Elara says, as they both enter the cafe.

Hana stares at her for a moment, thinking as to who it could be. After a moment she shakes her head, "No idea, who??" -The curiosity apparent in her voice.

"Jake. Jake Woods."

"THE Jake Woods?" -Hana repeats, clearly surprised. Elara nods, "Yep, the same one."

"Holy shi- What's he doing at a police station? Did he become a criminal or something?"

-Elara lightly smacks Hana's head, chuckling. "Silly. He's in the force now. I was pleasantly surprised seeing him, after so long."

Hana nods, "Yeah, it's been pretty long already. I should go down the station and meet him, what do you think?"

Elara stares at her for a moment, and grins. "I almost forgot he's your first love. Go on, you're not his student anymore. If he's single, shoot your shot."

Hana chuckles, "Oh, I will."

. . .

The cafe is pretty much empty today, with nothing to do, Elara and Hana simply sit by the window, enjoying each other's company.

"You know, I was thinking—" Before Hana can continue her sentence, a car screeches stop in front of the cafe. Causing them both to look at the glass door.

"That's Marshall's car?" -Elara says, softly.

She watches, as Marshall jumps out of the car and barges in the cafe. His eyes fall on Elara's and he rushes up to her. Pulling her by her wrist, as he pulls her into his embrace, hugging her. His tall figure caging hers. He holds her head softly in his palm, pressing it against his chest.

Elara is quite caught off guard by all this, but she lets him hold her. Hana doesn't say anything either. The three of them speak no words, not yet.

"Are you okay Marshall?" -Elara finally speaks, her voice soft, calm and soothing.

Hana chimes in as well. "Yeah, Mr. Wyatts, it's been only five hours since you last saw her, can't stay without your wife, I see." -She teases.

Elara turns her head around, glaring at Hana, not saying anything.

Hana tries to control her laughter, she found her own comment hilarious, and cute.

Elara looks at Marshall, he seems to have calmed down.

"Your stalker… He sent me a message." -Marshall finally speaks.

Elara feels her blood run cold. "What? What do you mean?"

Marshall takes out his phone, and shows it to Elara. Hana scoots closer to see as well.

It's a video, from an unknown number.

The video is from at least half an hour ago, it shows, Elara and Hana, sitting by the window of the cafe. They're talking to each other, laughing, but the video is inaudible.

After a moment, in the video, it shows the stalker's loved hand, holding a small pocket knife. The person doesn't say anything, they simply hold out the knife, pointing it to Elara. And the video ends.

Hana reaches out and places her hand on Elara's shoulder. The text underneath the video says;

'You brought this upon yourself, Marshall Wyatts. I told you to stay away from her.'

So this is why Marshall rushed over. To check on Elara. His wife..

Elara smiles simply, she's glad he's worried about her, but at the same time she's worried about him. She dragged Marshall into this. Into her problems.

Was marrying Marshall a good idea? He's innocent in all this, he didn't even have a clue about any of this until their marriage.

What will happen if the stalker actually does something to harm Marshall?

Was this marriage.. a good idea?
