Two sides to every coin ~Juliette~

I couldn't breath in this corset that was 3 sizes too small. All of these layers of organza were incredibly itchy. But I had to give credit where credit is due. My stylist made me look speechless. I almost couldn't believe I was the same person. I got out of my carriage and entered the big party. I stopped walking and got nervous because it seemed everyone was looking at me. Relax! I told myself. I looked around for some familiar person with whom I could socialize with. That's when I saw him. A 6 foot tall, slender guy, dressed in a fitting clean suit. Who is this guy? I started to walk towards him when an idiot stopped me in my path. "Wow Juliette, you look... stunning!" Of course it was stupid, stupid, stupid Eric Byrne. Sure we had been childhood friends, but I really need to talk to that mystery guy. "Thank you Eric, you are too kind." I said forcing a blush and a smile. Over the corner of Eric's shoulder I could see the shoulder of the perfect tailored suit start turning and walking away. Before I knew it my mouth was already moving, "Hello?" That was such a dumb thing to say. He turned around a look of shock on his face almost saying, 'who me?'. "H-h-h..." he coughed, "Hi." I walked over there as confidently as I could with my heart pounding so much. ""My name's Juliette, and you are?" I tried steadying my hand, I hope he can't tell I'm nervous. "My name is James, James Moore." Moore... Moore... Where have I heard that name before... No way! This gorgeous man was a successful merchant heir! So there's a chance we could date. not that he would like me though. "Moore... Ahh your family is a huge merchant family, no?"

"That's the one." Thank God I didn't make a fool of myself and confuse him for another Moore family. "Juliette, there's some people that I think would like to meet you." God dang it, Eric! I can't believe you would stop me in the middle of my flirtatious war. "Of course," Remind me to smack you later. "I'm sorry James, duty calls. Don't run off or else I won't know how to continue talking to you." I laughed jokingly, but I meant every word. I hope to keep talking to him. I couldn't help but look back as Eric led me away. I noticed that James was also looking in my direction. Then he headed for the doors. If I never get to see him again I'm killing Eric. Ismacked Eric's arm.

"Hey! What the heck?" he said in a scream whisper, trying not to draw attention to us. "I can't believe you interrupted talking the my crush-- I mean..." I looked away and felt my cheeks start to heat. "No! Don't tell me. You have a thing for James Moore?!" I swear if he said it any louder the whole party would've heard. "Shush! Don't tell the whole world yet. Father won't approve since he's not very high up on the social ladder." Eric thought quietly, then said, "He's here though, isn't he. Anyone who is someone, is here." I silently hoped he was right. That for once my father would take into account my feelings. I sighed, "I hope so. But you know my father. I will likely be placed in an arranged marriage just like all the princesses before me. Not able to run the lands how I would. How I was trained to." I felt a touch on my chin. It was Eric's hand, "Listen, have some faith in your dad. After all, you're his pride and joy."
