6 The Ancient One [EDITED]

When Noah arrived home, he went down on a memory lane trip. He had spent six years living there with his mother until now. His mother treated him with full of care and love. He was really saddened by his mother's departure from the world.

In his bedroom, Noah who was reminiscing, suddenly felt his soul being stripped of his body. His consciousness was in a soul projection. He was still in his room but he knew that he was in a different dimension even though everything was the same.

Then, he saw a bald old woman in a yellow robe appearing in front of him.. But Noah was not surprised at all instead it was as if he already expected it. Only a master of the mystics arts would be able to do something as magical as pulling out his soul out of this body. And he knew that the Ancient One was one of the most proficient users of using Mirror Dimension.

The Ancient One was quite surprised at his stoic and calm face. "Your soul is different from anyone else, Mr Miller. Your soul is powerful, extremely so!"

Noah just kept his silence. The Ancient wouldn't possibly know he had spent years being tortured by the flame. Even though his soul was strengthened, if it was possible he didn't want to repeat being tortured like that again.

"I've been observing you since your arrival to this world. Your soul isn't from this world. Your arrival has added many possibilities to the future."

"I'll take that as a compliment," Noah who knew the future would of course have a huge impact on the future.

"You look sad, Mr Miller. I, myself am a very good listener," The Ancient One smiled at me. She was rather warm. It was understandable after all she had lived for hundreds of years. Even if Noah had lived as a soul in the void for hundreds of years, it could not be compared to The Ancient One in terms of experiences, acting as the protector of earth.

"I have been thinking a lot these few days. Who should I blame for my mom's death. I want to hate someone for my loss. I want to blame the kid who ran out to the road. But she was only 4-years-old. She did not understand anything. I want to blame the kid's parents. They did not pay enough attention to their kid. Why should my mom be dead for their mistake?"

My chest was heaving up and down from my fury. I took a moment to calm down before continuing, "But my mom was the one that chose to save the child. So, I could not blame the kid's parents. And after the two of them kneel down and ask for my forgiveness in front of my home yesterday, my anger, it could not hold on."

"I feel lost, Ancient One. What should I do?"

He did not have the heart to hate someone who did nothing wrong. It was his mother's choice to save the kid nonetheless. In this situation where he could not hate anyone, he felt very helpless. If said that his mother was murdered or something, at least he could have his revenge. But not this situation.

"That is something you should decide. You have an overwhelming power inside of you and there is still more potential for you to discover. The question is what do you want to do with the power? Why do you seek power is also the question, you trained hard since you possessed it?" The Ancient One was talking with me with such warmth.

"I don't want to be a hero nor a villain. However, I can sense the future will be kind to humanity. The grave danger will be a threat to me whether I like it or not. Therefore, I trained everyday." Yes, that was what had been in Noah's mind since he was born and realized this was not the same world. He trained hard to survive against all the incoming alien invasion or powerful villains. He was afraid he would be hauled back to the void once he died again. He didn't want that outcome. That place was one thing he would like to avoid for eternity if possible.

"Then, come with me. I will help you. I will teach you." The Ancient One looked at me in the eyes when she said those sentences. I could see that she was sincere enough to take me in.

Sighing, "Okay, it's not like I had anything else to do here. Maybe I can find another home with you."

With a sad smile, he agreed. He would be leaving this house of his without Layla and started his new beginning. How nice would it be if Layla could see all of this. 'I hope you could see me from high above, mom.' If she was not isekai'd.
