11 Ch. 11 - Timeskip & Fruits of labor

Time flies like a butterfly and 5 years have passed.

Somewhere deep in the jungle, Doflamingo, who's eyes were focused like an eagle, was having a staredown with a big Lion in front of him.

Unlike 5 years ago, Doflamingo looked more like a 16 year old teenager, when the truth is, he is just 11 years old.

His body, which only has traces of muscles 5 years ago, however, those muscles were now fully outlined on his body, giving him a Greek like body.

As the Lion roared at him, Doflamingo flashed a grin on his face and he rushed towards the Lion, who also rushed at him.

As they collided, Doflamingo's thick skin resisted the Lion's claws, while he used his left fist to give the Lion a devastating blow on its rear.

As the tiger whimpered in pain, Doflamingo ducked under the Lion, and raised his arms, carrying the almost 650 pounds Lion.

"You're getting fat, Garfield!" Doflamingo laughed as his fully raised his arms, without straining one bit, completely carrying the Lion, or Garfield as Doflamingo calls him.

Before slamming Garfield on the ground.

*Bam!*

The Lion whimpered in pain as Doflamingo crouched and patted Garfield on his head.

"Oh come on, you're stronger than that, you not called the King of the Jungle for nothing." Like what Doflamingo said, the Lion soon got up from the ground and gave Doflamingo a lick to his face before walking away and laid on the ground, while licking his injuries.

"It's almost time for me to leave." Doflamingo muttered, and as if the Lion heard him, he stopped licking his injuring and gave him a shock look.

"Oh come on, don't worry about me, worry about those two tigers who visited recently. I heard that their establishing their dominance over the forest." Doflamingo said as if he was talking to Garfield.

(Doflamingo PoV)

"Yeah, so I heard." I heard Garfield spoke to me.

That's right, I could indeed understand animals and talk to them, in fact, I could also converse with pretty much everything, including the trees, plants and even air.

As for how I could do this? If my guess is right then this should be the famous Voice of All Things that only Roger has.

At first I was confused as I remembered that Doflamingo doesn't have this ability, and I only received the talents of Roger in Haki.

It was then that I finally realized why I have this ability.

Because the Voice of all Things is part of Haki. Which means that there are 4 Haki's in the whole One Piece World, not just Armament, Observation and Conquerors.

In fact, I already had some guesses on why only Rogers has this skill.

Since it was said that only one in a million could have the famous Conqueror's Haki, then perhaps only one in a billion could have the Voice of all things just like the Conqueror's Haki.

This reason seemed plausible, since out of everyone in the One Piece show, only Roger was said to have this ability.

Then, there's also Luffy who has this ability.

Only 2 people, out of the whole population in One Piece world has the talent of Voice of all things.

(3rd PoV)

"Perhaps having a D. On their names is a requirement too?" Doflamingo said before continuing.

"Then, it only makes sense that I have it, after all, Doflamingo Donquixote has two D's on his name." Doflamingo chuckled at his own joke.

As for how he awakened it? It was actually 4 and a half years ago when he was training under the shade of a tree when he suddenly heard some footsteps running on his way, followed by some growls behind them.

When he looked up, he saw a small lion cub being chased by a pack of Hyenas.

That's right, this small lion cub was actually Garfield, who is dozing off now.

Anyways, back from the topic. Doflamingo, of course can't let some hyenas kill a poor, innocent lion, especially when it is happening in front of his face.

So, obviously, he grabbed the cub and kicked all the Hyenas on their faces.

"Thank you for saving me human." Was the thing that he heard after the pack of Hyenas ran away.

Since that day, Garfield kept following him in the guise of 'giving my thanks by protecting you'.

However, as days gone by, he and Garfield got a lot more closer and Doflamingo finally decided to name him in honor as his new friend that he made.

Garfield was happy and accepted the name Garfield that he gave him, and since that day, they've been inseperabel with each other.

Putting the Voice of all things and his backstory with Garfield aside, he also has finally awakened his two Haki's. Specifically, the Armamane Haki and the Observation Haki.

Though, he could only coat his whole arm and those that he touched with Armament Haki, but it's already pretty good. Not to mention, his Observation Haki has the biggest improvement, as not only could he see 5 km in radius, but he could also 'read' the muscles of a living being, predicting their next move.

Fun fact is, he could passively use Observation Haki, but unlike the 5 km in radius, he could only sense atleast 1 km around him.

In short terms, the range of his observation Haki is 5 km if he used it actively, and 1 km if it is used passively.

'Atleast I could dodge bullets now, so assassinating me would be very hard.' Doflamingo thought to himself as he walked to a nearby tree and coated his finger with Armament Haki.

*Bam!*

Without even trying, Doflamingo's Armament Haki coated finger, was buried deep with the tree.

"This marks the end of my Training Arc." Doflamingo curled up a smile on his face as he got excited on what will the Hydra's expression will be after seeing him alive and stronger than never.

Especially, Agnes and Matilda.

'That's right, I still have to mend my relationship with Matilda. After all, I've been working on gaining her trust but all that goes on the drain because of those snake bastard!' Doflamingo thought to himself as his eyes went cold in anger.

He simply couldn't wait to pay those bastards with his wrath.

'But first, I'll have to find my way out of this jungle.' Doflamingo stood and looked around him and only found trees, plants, grasses and some small animals.

"Can't I come with you?" Garfield, who woke up after hearing Doflamingo standing up, can't help but ask him, but to Doflamingo's eyes, he could see that Garfield was sad to see him go.

"Well, I can't just stay here all my life. I also have a life out there, you know? Don't worry, I'll keep coming back when I have the time." Doflamingo smiled and walked towards Garfield and sticked his forehead to his.

"You could just make your own zoo right? You told me about the Zoo where they keep animals for entertainment." Suddenly, Garfield gave him an idea.

"Zoo...." Doflamingo fell into thinking as his eyes widened in realization.

"You're one smart ass lion, aren't you, Garfield?" Doflamingo made funny faces while pinching Garfield's cheek.

"Stop pinching my cheeks, hooman!" Seeing that there's a chance for him to not see Doflamingo go, Garfield naturally got excited and his attitude returned back to normal, which is a bit like a tsundere.

"However, my age seems to be a problem." Doflamingo stood and got into thinking, while Garfield's excited face got frozen and his ears dropped down in sadness, thinking that he would see his friend go.

"However, since I'm already declared dead to the world, I could fake my age and make myself an 18 years old orphan!" Garfield's excitement went back up again.

"But, how will I do that? I'm not proficient in programming to give myself a fake identity." Garfield's excited expression was erased and replaced by sadness again.

"However, I could ha-." Doflamingo didn't managed to continue his sentence when an angry yell was heard beside him.

"Stop giving me false hopes, just to shatter it the next moment. Get to the point, Hooman!" It turns out, it was Garfield who angrily yelled at him.

"Okay, okay. Chill, dude. Anyways, I already have a plan inside my mind."

"What is it?" This time, Garfield's voice was already void of excitement nor sadness. He just wanted to be with Doflamingo, for god's sake!

"Okay, here's the plan. Instead of a Zoo, I'm planning to create my own Amusement Park mixed with Zoo! As for the problem in my Identity, I could find someone to forge one for me or maybe I'll have my friend, Matilda, to learn some programming or something. Anyways, the only problem is that I'll be gone for atleast 1 year, before I could prepare everything." Doflamingo told him all of his plans after getting out fo the jungle.

Although Garfield was sad that Doflamingo would be gone for a year, but that's still better than not seeing him anymore, so he agreed.

"Now, Now, don't be sad. While, I'm gone, I have a mission for you." Doflamingo smiled at seeing his expression and continued.

"While I'm gone. I want you to make friends with other animals here. I don't care how you will do it, but just make sure that you use friendly methods and if possible, make friends with different kinds of animals. Okay?" Doflamingo said as Garfield fell into thinking.

"Making friends with them is fine for me, but why the friendly method? I could just scare them to be friends with me right?"

"Well, that's a good method but I don't want animals following me in fear, we need to build trust and harmony with them, so that someday, we could trust our backs to them." Doflamingo gave him an advice.

"Last question. Why didn't kinds of animals though?"

"Well, we can't just only have you in the Zoo, right? We need different kinds of animals to entertain our visitors." Doflamingo shrugged his shoulders before continuing.

"What do you think? Does it sound plausible?" Garfield didn't think twice before answering his question.

"Yes. But, could you atleast stay for a day before going?" Garfield asked, while trying to hide his embarrassment.

"Hehe, looks like someone is really going to miss me?" Doflamingo teased as he smiled.

"Hmph, I just think that something bad will happen to you if you go now." Garfield's tsundere side started leaking out as he replied to his teasing.

"Well, atleast you cared for me. Anyways, sure I could stay for a day or two." Doflamingo then lied down on the ground and watched as the sun sets down and replaced by the shining moon.

Garfield also lied down beside him.

"Doffy." Garfield called out to him.

"Hm?" With his eyes closed, Doflamingo just replied with a hum.

"Thank you."

"For what?"

"For being my friend and saving me that day."

"....You're very welcome."

"Goodnight."

"Goodnight, friend."
