4 Chapter 3

2 days later….

"We are now arriving at Kabul Airport, Afghanistan"

A female voice spoke, prompting Toby to get up from his seat, yawning.

His gorilla boss made him go to Afghanistan, to cover the weapon testing, as, around now, nothing was interesting enough for the paper to cover.

"With great power comes great responsibility."

He smiled.

"I am a dedicated and upright photojournalist, so I should immediately go to the sight and set up early right?" He pondered for a second.

"Nope."

"Sightseeing it is."

Pulling along his suitcase, he made his way through the airport, buying some meatballs at one of the stalls there, before leaving promptly.

Walking down the streets, he took photos of countless buildings, people, and umbrellas.

Having researched thoroughly beforehand, he visited the cities many restaurants, Toby had quite the soft spot for street food

After having finished his culinary adventure, he checked into a small hotel.

It was almost the evening, as the sun could be seen disappearing over Kabul's high buildings and shops.

Opening the key to his room, Toby dumped the various souvenirs he had gathered during his great "trek".

Keychains, postcards, cheap t-shirts, and of course, a copious amount of food.

Bags full of dumplings, sweet pastries, containers of nut and fruit soup, steaming mutton kebabs, Tobias Macguire was a true glutton.

"I'll probably be able to finish half of that today, I'll leave the rest for tomorrow."

As he stuffed his face with nice dumplings, which were filled with leeks and lamb, he grinned creepily.

"Hallelujah!"

"Praise the Lord!"

"Dumplings!"

"Mutton!"

"Yogurt!"

"Leek!"

"Leek?"

"I sort of like leeks?"

Toby continued gobbling up whatever food was in sight.

Stuffing a kebab into his mouth, he picked up a remote and turned on the old television in front of him.

Soon, an old Bollywood movie started playing.

Lively and dramatic music soon filled the room.

Toby had learned Hindi, for no apparent reason, but know it was quite helpful.

Though it was not Afghanistan's main language, for some reason Hindi was understandable by many Afghans here.

But, really the only words and sentences he bothered learning were [I'll take one!], [No.], [Can I have this?], [Hello], [Idiot], and [Die.]

(A/N: Brackets will represent a different language because I can't speak or write Hindi, or for the most part, any language.)

His accent was pretty thick though…

Besides a few lines, the movie mostly went ununderstood by Toby.

Soon, the credits rolled, and Toby fell asleep on the couch, having finished almost all of the food.

"Caw….. caw…. Caw…." The following day, as the sun began to rise over the horizon, one Tobias Macguire was awakened by a raven.

"Ugh...." Toby woke up, and looked around, before groaning.

The demo would be today, near a plateau quite far away from Kabul.

"5:00, eh….."

"What a drag….." Toby stretched out his arms before he got up.

Picking up his phone, he checked the time.

"6:12 am"

"Screw that, I still have 11 hours left about, and the boss hired the taxi for 1:00."

"Let's first go tour the palace and then the gardens!"

Soon, Toby was on his way, through the bustling crowds. Hitching a taxi, he soon started his long excursion.

"Phew! The gardens were pretty nice but the museum was also cool!" He exclaimed, to no one in particular.

Then, his phone started to ring.

"Hello, this is Tobias Macguire here, how can I help you?"

"Are you coming soon?" A man on the other side spoke in a thick accent.

"You mean the taxi?"

"Oh cr- I mean, i'll be right there!"

"Bye, see ya in a bit!"

Hanging up, Toby looked at his phone.

"12:53"

"Run."

He jumped. Leaping over a row of buildings easily.

The wind rushed past his ears as he ran. Thrusting out his hand, Toby finally used a thing he had not used in a while.

His web shooter, a spindle of spider web shot out, latching onto a window sill, which he used to propel himself up a wall.

Flipping off it, he soon started jumping from building to building, somehow, no one noticed the very vivid white guy wearing a neon "Viva La Kabul" shirt skipping across buildings at a completely inhuman pace while humming to a random Bollywood tune.
