Chapter 80: For Asgard
The next day, the unexpected event occurred right on time.
A short-lived, powerful energy reaction appeared fifteen miles northwest of the temporary S.H.I.E.L.D. base.
"Consultant Oaks?"
Coulson contacted Oaks, asking, "Is everything okay on your end?"
"Thor is enjoying a lovely breakfast with his girlfriend—if you're referring to the powerful energy field that just occurred, I don't think they're aware of it."
Oaks's voice came through the phone, relieving Coulson.
"Did you also sense that energy? We're planning to go and take a look."
"Bring Dr. Banner with you."

Coulson instinctively tightened his grip on the phone.
"A planet destroyer?! Are you saying...?"
"Bifrost can be briefly opened for interdimensional transportation, but if left open for an extended period, it can destroy an entire planet—

They are Thor's friends: Lady Sif and the Warriors Three—Volstagg, Fandral, and Hogun."

Oaks's words made Coulson's face twitch once again—
Their concerns had come true. The powerful energy outburst just now and the mysterious patterns before them were indeed caused by Asgard's Bifrost.
And as someone who had consulted a professional just yesterday, he naturally remembered Thor's close friends, his four loyal companions.
"In mythology, isn't Lady Sif Thor's wife? Are you sure this isn't a family dispute?"

Accompanied by ferocious roars and the grating sound of metal collision, Coulson and Oaks's communication was cut off.
The massive vortex formed at the point of the Destroyer's impact could be clearly seen throughout the town. S.H.I.E.L.D. had already taken action, evacuating the civilians as quickly as possible under official pretenses.
"It's a good thing Dr. Banner is here... But the Hulk, who relies solely on physical attacks, probably won't have an advantage against the Destroyer's armor... as expected."

Oaks looked at the approaching Destroyer and glanced at the Hulk, who had jumped up and was roaring at the sky, tilting his head.
"We also have the power to protect ourselves... Of course, I hope that after you have discussed it, you will fulfill your responsibilities as soon as possible."
In the stunned gazes of the five Asgardians, Dr. Selvig, Jane Foster, and Darcy, the Hulk charged forward and punched the newly arrived Destroyer, sending it flying out of town.
Fueled by his anger, the Hulk's strength visibly increased, but the Destroyer, made of Uru metal and imbued with powerful magic bestowed by Odin, the most potent weapon of Asgard, wasn't something that pure physical attacks could destroy.
As the Hulk's attacks deformed the Destroyer, it automatically repaired itself. If its magical power output surpassed the current state of the Destroyer's armor, there would be no way to defeat it.
However, with Oaks joining the battle with his supportive nature magic, the combined efforts of him and the Hulk successfully halted the Destroyer's advance.
"The people of Midgard have done enough; my incompetence has brought disaster upon them."
Thor looked at the awe-inspiring Destroyer armor and the devastated surrounding environment, his expression serious as he glanced at his four loyal friends.
"Although I am currently just a mortal, I am still the son of Odin. Let's go, my friends."
He took the first step and walked towards the battlefield.
"For Asgard!"
"For Asgard!"
