79 Chapter 79: Listening to the Story of Asgard from the Thunder God

"To be honest, although science requires rigor, I don't really think this is a big deal."

Beside Mjolnir, Banner, wearing a white lab coat and glasses, holding a notepad, watched as Dr. Selvig led Thor away from a distance and scratched his head.

"You see, I already have a Druid from Celtic mythology by my side. Adding a Thunder God from Norse mythology wouldn't be an unacceptable thing.

Perhaps later, we'll see characters from other mythologies... like Athena, Gilgamesh, angels, or demons?"

Agent Coulson, standing beside him, smirked, admiring Dr. Banner's imagination.

"Doctor, I think, One Thor is already troublesome enough. If we can confirm that this hammer... Mjolnir is indeed the one... then what we might face next is likely not just one Thunder God."

Coulson furrowed his brow. Frankly, as the person in charge of this matter, he felt tremendous pressure.

In fact, when he learned that the hammer was the creation of an extraterrestrial, Coulson wasn't particularly surprised. This was one of the important reasons why Nick Fury promoted him and assigned him to handle this matter.

Last year, Coulson was in charge of a mysterious project.

S.H.I.E.L.D.'s Level 9 classified project, Project Tahiti.

It aimed to extract tissue fluid from the upper body of a partially dismembered Kree corpse that still retained some level of vitality, in order to save the Avengers when they suffered severe injuries.

However, due to serious side effects, Coulson personally requested the project to be shut down.

Therefore, Coulson was well aware that extraterrestrials had indeed visited Earth... and even now, with an extraterrestrial standing in front of him, he wouldn't be overly surprised.

But the identity of the extraterrestrial still caught him off guard.

This wasn't just a half-dead body; it was a member of a powerful group known as the "gods"...

And the Prince?

"I hope Consultant Oaks brings good news, but before that, I need to brush up on Norse mythology. Would you like to join Dr. Banner?"

Coulson raised his phone.

"I found an authoritative expert on Norse mythology. He is an anthropology professor at the University of Seville."

"Well... that won't be necessary. I have a very heavy workload."

Banner raised the notepad in his hand.

"Did you intentionally let… Mr. Thor to take away that notebook? You should know that what's recorded in there is an incredibly astonishing discovery—the Einstein-Rosen Bridge and the astronomical observation data...

They correspond to Bifrost and the Nine Realms of Asgard that Thor mentioned. If it's Selvig, I have no doubt that he already knows Thor's identity based on this information."

"So this is the first step of contact between Asgardians and Earth—we must do our best to prevent this from escalating into the spark of interstellar war."

Coulson fell silent for a moment before shrugging and walking away.

"I hope he enjoys Earth's cuisine."

...

While Coulson was consulting a Norse mythology professor over the phone, Oaks was boredly nibbling on dog food beside the RV.

Well, that's why drinking isn't about the quantity but the atmosphere.

When you're drinking against an Asgardian, it's easy to forget that you're just an ordinary Earthling and be enticed by their bottomless capacity for alcohol, driven by competitiveness.

Dr. Selvig's knowledge of Norse mythology was still not detailed enough; after all, he had learned from children's books...

Those books probably didn't delve into the drinking culture of the gods.

After drinking a large amount of alcohol that could easily make an ordinary person blackout. Thor, sat beside Jane Foster by the campfire, sharing dog food as if he had never had a sip.

However, what he said was worth Oaks's attention.

After all, it came directly from the mouth of the All-Father Odin, the description of Asgard's Nine Realms that make up this world.

As Thor slid the notebook that Coulson deliberately placed on the table.

Now Thor was recounting to the notebook's owner, Jane Foster, the significance that these observational data held in the eyes of the Asgardians.

It was here that Thor, the Thunder God of Asgard, uttered the phrase, "In Asgard, science and magic are one and the same."

"In order to flirt, he revealed all the information about his homeland... I have to say that Thor now is so innocent that it's somewhat heartbreaking to scheme against him.

But does the World Tree really not exist...? Then what about the handle of Mjolnir?"

Oaks, in the form of a cheetah, stealthily crouched in the shadow beside the RV, one paw supporting his chin, silently contemplating.

"Could it be that the legend got the World Tree wrong?"

He had to think more. If the World Tree truly existed...

As a Druid, even having the slightest connection with the World Tree would be enough for him to disregard most threats.

But unfortunately, according to the account of the All-Father Odin, the "World Tree" wasn't a physical giant tree but rather a "tree-like astronomical phenomenon."

This astronomical phenomenon connected nine celestial bodies scattered throughout the universe at unknown intervals, forming an astronomical system.

That was the "Nine Realms of Asgard."

As these tales were told, a desire gradually welled up within Oaks—to see beyond Earth.

Yes, when we were children and looked up at the sky, we would always wonder what lay on the distant shores of the starry sky.

Now, a living extraterrestrial was beside him.

Knowing his identity was one thing, but hearing firsthand the stories of the other side of the stars from his own mouth was something else.

People from other planets are distinct from Earthlings.

Though Thor's power was currently sealed by Odin, reduced to a mortal, he was still of Asgardian royal blood. Since the start of the interrogation, Oaks, who was in close proximity to Thor, had already sensed the formidable vitality within his sealed body.

So, what differences did the ecosystems of other planets have compared to Earth?

Were there universal rules governing nature and life on different planets that Druids could control?

This idea gradually took root and sprouted in Oaks's mind as he listened to Thor's account to Jane.

"But this is something that will come after connecting with Earth's ecosystem... At least for now, there's no way to directly perceive the disparity in physical capabilities with the Asgardians."

Thor and Jane had already fallen asleep, and Oaks looked up at the dark night sky. The abundant starry energy appeared dazzling in his eyes, like starlight.

"Time is running out... Tonight, I will need to gather the necessary energy and prepare to face new challenges."
