Law and Order : Shall we

The pizza delivery man knocked on the door one more time, this being the sixth. As he already knew he had to wait for a while in this particular house, he didn't care because he knew something was always up for him as a tip, but he had noticed the name of the customer on the package as not Esther, but he was still positively hoping that someone who did what they always did would do it again. As James got down from the second flight of stairs, which was the last either way. He called on the pizza-man to hold on a little more, "hey man, I'm coming", he opened the door, received the pizza, and shut the door back on him. The pizza guy, whose expectation was on the high side already, paused for a while cursing James in his heart, for making him wait that long without a tip, although he knew in his mind that, he wasn't entitled to any form of a tip. He left their porch hissing mildly.

The smell of broiled pepperoni swayed Tori off her bed to the living room, she grabbed a slice as fast as she could before James returns from the kitchen, as she leaped towards the stair back to her room, she slipped and fell on the stair, simultaneously, James came out from the kitchen and she froze right where she was.

"Is there anyone who can't stand me and dears to steal my best snack" James spoke out loud jokingly, "Oh, I'm not sure there's anyone who'll do that, nobody got the balls to itch you" Tori replied sarcastically. "But we can share the pizza tho" Tori concluded and would have walked graciously to her room if James hadn't said "Hey Tori, I don't think I can hold this up any longer", " and what's that bro" Tori looked back at James with a pause in her heartbeat. "I'm not working here in Washington", "Oh yeah I know" Tori had let her heart speak before she could process what she wanted to stay, now she gotta cover up for it, "Do you really? ", " Yeah, I might have gotten a degree in psychology last year, online tho, it's nothing much", "that must be really cool, then maybe you should read me", Tori was overwhelmed and slowly walked down the stair, "Hmmm, you're not as cool as you seem", they both burst into laughter, "but seriously, let's begin" Tori looked straight into his eyes and all she could see was the terrorist she thinks him to be. Then, there came this rush in her, a huge force of anger in adrenaline, "you know what, don't lets play this game of ' I know you and I shall speak not', I hope your widest guess right now is not that I don't know you belong to the iirhabiun, because that's exactly what I know about you" James moved closer to Tori to shut her up, but she walked back, and although James could be heartless, there's a part of him that just belongs to family. "And just shut up cause there's no explanation for the fact that you are broke or what ever you are about to say, because I can remember vividly, I told you I got your back, so why the buzz, and you were the one who chose to go to Boston in the first place, so maybe you should have tought about the fact that you can't make the right choices by yourself before you boarded that plane, you couldn't even give the slightest pity to Mom, about the fact that she's going through a lot, now that Dad is gone, and the last tome I checked you were elder, which means more responsibility, and it's obvious you can't take care of yourself, so what's the guarantee you'll be there for anyone else", "I'm sorry Tori...", "for what exactly, for joining iirhabiun or for threatening the government, you're all the wrong things that have happened to this family, and I'm so glad Matthew didn't wait to see all this bullshit you've pulled on yourself", "Let me explain, Tori", "you can say that to the pieces of furniture, they'll hear you out", she left him standing there totally confused. James smashed the slice of pizza he had on the floor and kicked the couch really furious about what just happened.

Tori couldn't sleep that night, because she has no idea what ripple her words had caused. She always went back to her door to make sure she locked the door. She started to prepare for school by 5 am, all she wanted was to avoid James to the maximum she could. So she didn't even dare breakfast at home.

She managed to sneak out of her bedroom, and the house entirely, without James noticing her, although that's what she thought. As she walked down the street to where she'd board her bus to school, she thought about what would happen when Esther would come home, she kind of hoped for an extension of Esther's time with her psychologist, but she knew Esther has not stayed out of the house for more than two months, and she is scheduled to return by Friday. Tori boarded her bus, but she kept brooding on what would happen when Esther and James are living under the same roof.

She stopped at the Starbucks coffee shop to get coffee for her pitying eyes. She for a second felt that James could be following her, but somehow, that thought was knocked out of her mind. She left the shop feeling better, but not ready for the day still, so she went and sat on the chair at the bus stop where Mac would always drop at, then trek from school.

As Mac got down from the bus, he walked away to school as he would normally do, then he continually heard his name, which he quite heard from a distance, like someone was calling him in his mind, some sort of dark power tho, he looked back trying to observe if there was no someone he knew who could be out for him, as Tori ran towards him, he dragged the earpiece from his ear and held it in his hands there, he smiled trying to persuade her not to kick him away when she got to where he was standing, but apparently he wasn't charming enough today.

After he got what he deserved, they both walked faster but didn't seem to understand the reason, but he just tried to keep up with Tori's pace. They got to school in no time and Tori dragged him to the basketball court.

Now Mac was very worried and concerned, but he'd prefer not to ask any questions. As soon as Tori stopped, all one would read on Mac's face was why, Tori fell on the floor and breathed heavily saying, "I confronted James", "What on earth came over you, Tori?".

Hey guys, I'm so sorry this chapter came soo late, and its quite short, but the next chapter will be filled with conversation mostly between Tori and Mac, and also get ready for some action.
