epilogue " Leo's determination"

"no, no, no, Lana what happened to you!"

Leo said as he ran over to his little sister, who was lying unconscious on the ground.

he kneels and starts to cradle her in his arms

"it's going to be okay, it's going to be okay"

he repeated to her, though it was more for him to reassure himself. she was covered in bruises on the verge of death when slowly her eyes fluttered open, looking up at her older brother she meekly coughed and said

"big br-oth-er, y you ca-me for me?"

as he looked down at her he knew she didn't have long left, he smiled but it wasn't real he was just trying to keep his sister from worrying about him

"of course I came for you silly, you're my little sister"

he vowed in his heart that he would make whoever did this to his sister pay,

"big brother?" she looked up at Leo with a pleading gaze "please, please make the pain go away"

he knew what she wanted but couldn't bring himself to do it, who would choose to kill their little sister.

soon they heard footsteps slowly echo throughout the room as a tall elven archer walks into the room,

he whistles and says

"now that's a lot of damage"

as he gazes around the room at all the destruction,

again walking towards the two siblings he says

"yo, little Leo. the rest of the mines have been planted we need to g-"

he stops mid word as Leo turns giving the elf full view of Lanas injuries, kneeling beside them he does a spell diagnostic and can see that she will not make it, solomly he looks into Leo eyes and apologizes to him

"I'm sorry little Leo but there's nothing I can do but lessen her pain in her last moments"

Lana barely aware of her surroundings finally notices the elf and greets him

"oh, hey Teach, I'm sorry but I won't be able to continue learning from you. my time has come"

Teach looks down at her and holds her hand

"it's okay, Lana, everything's going to be okay. well stay here with you"

but she doesn't respond, she squeezes his hand before finally closing her eyes to rest for the last time

later Leo and Teach walk out of the building carrying Lanas body wrapped in cloth, as they walk out their party members all see the body but don't say anything. as they all gather Nakira the bard places a gold coin on Lanas head and whispers

"may we meet again, in the embrace of Elysium"

as they were leaving the town they blew the explosives they planted earlier and all the corrupt nobles houses exploded at once, illuminating the night sky for a few moments before the magical flames sputtered out.

they would not be returning for a long time, after all they planned to enter the ancient labyrinth dungeon said to house the only entrance to the sacred domain of Elysium, the domain of long forgotten heroes and legends. but Leo didn't care about that all he wanted was the ambrosia flowers that grow in Elysium, they are said to be able to bring a person back from the dead.
