8 Start of a Clash

When the last sunshines of the day arrived to the city state of Gold River, the people in the trade convoys were preparing to leave the city.

Usually trade convoys leave the city at day time. But if your path's temperature was hot, leaving at night was your only option.

Arthur looked to the people who were preparing to leave. Most of them were not warriors and probably normal people who were traveling between the cities.

Trade convoys were the best transportation tool to travel in the Maze on that time.

Arthur even met with a new person, Edward while waiting for trade convoy to leave. Edward was a wealthy person. His family had a business in Westonia and he came to Gold River for buying some products.

Edward was a young man. He had brown hairs and eyes. He was wearing a necklace that has his family's symbol. While he was talking with Arthur, he was also looking for the girls next to them. Girls weren't talking while he was looking and after that they were laughing together.

Edward was talking about the politics of the Westonia. About the king and the families of the kingdom.

"Who should be the vassal? When will the other kingdoms declare war to them?", these were the most common topics that Edward was talking.

Arthur was bored, but he was trying not to show it. When Edward asked his opinion, he was just supporting him.

Arthur actually learned a lot of things about Westonia. But he didn't need the information about King's second palace.

When they finished talking it was almost night and trade convoy started moving.

Arthur was moving in a trade cart and even sometimes he was walking. He was thinking about what should he do for the next move? Maybe he should stay with Edward and try to improve his relations in Westonia. Edward would definitely gave him a job.

While he was thinking all these, Edward came close to him,

"Hey Arthur, what do you think about the Gold River?"

Arthur on his mind, "Oh not again!"

Edward asked again, "Can you hear me?"

Arthur was bored, "Well, what do you think? I want to hear your thoughts first."

Arthur was using the same tactic every time. He was knowing nothing about the city state, he even came in the morning and was now running from it. While Edward was talking, he was catching some details and supporting his ideas. That's all he could do.

While the trade convoy was moving, two men appeared at the start of the convoy. Arthur wasn't close to the start but he heard shoutings. And one of man from the first lines shouted,

"Bandits are here!"
