2 CHAPTER 2

I was shivering, I thought my end is near. I was preparing myself for killing him and then getting killed by the humans, but then he whispered

"clam down! I won't do anything to you"

he continued while wiping off my tears

"deep black eyes, same as I have read in books"

"w-why aren't you afraid of me? don't you humans call us devil?" I said while backing off and wiping all of my tears.

He got up while shaking off the dust and said

"why should I be afraid? I have always read about your type in books, it's my first time seeing you in flesh..." he went on and on.

I couldn't belive a word he told. It was almost like everything stopped, everything a statue around me. Frozen in time. I was listening and listening, finally he said

"You can come here everyday, at this hour if it's fine with you. I would love to meet you!!"

His shining ocean eyes were looking at me with such hope, so I nodded as a 'yes'.

I went back thinking about the events that occurred, everything was so confusing, that human was not the same as the book said. As I reached in the deepest of the forest my family started to ask several questions, I wasn't in a mood to face them so I ran towards my place to get a good nap.

Next day at the same hour I slipped out of the forest to meet him, he will tell me about the great kingdoms which are their allies and about himself and about his kingdom. That human call himself Charles, so I also told him my name and he said it's a beautiful name just like my wings. Day after day we keep meeting there and have long chats,but one night Charles said something that made me think

"will the situation be different?"

That night the sky was full of stars but no moon. It was obvious for me that for the first time, love bloomed in my heart, and after he said "If you were a human we could have gone to many different places" I wanted to be his side even more. But he was clearly of a different race. An Avifauna and a human could never be together.

And so, I went to see a witch that night who lived in the same forest and I said,

"I want to live as a human. I want to be with him, united with him."

The witch raised one of her eyebrows and said

"I can help you if you offer me your wings. But keep this in mind. No matter how you disguise yourself, you are a Avifauna or so called devil, you will consume his life one day."

I ripped off my wings and was assaulted by pain far more intense than I had ever felt. Instead of tears it was almost like blood coming out of my eyes. I could never ever fly again. Even so, I smiled happily with tears of joy streaming down my face I somehow said with a wobbly voice

"I'M HUMAN! I'M HUMAN!! I'M SAME AS HIM NOW!!!"
