Thank you for another cooking book... Hoping for a mass release because I love reading this type of books...Hoping it would give a foodgasm...

I usually love novels about food but I'm really disappointed with this one. I don't like the MC and at the moment, the other side characters are also pretty weak in terms of likeability. The story doesn't flow well and is really confusing. Only 5 chapters are available right now, I might re-read this story once more have been published but the start is really weak.

Trash. The dishes arent even described. The author is trying to make tge Mc cool. But it clearly do the opposite. The story and world background is true trash. It didnt even describe the faces of characters and the settings that they are in. FINAL VERDICT: TRASH. NOT IN PAR WITH OTHER COOKING NOVELS.

What the?!?! Bypassed the system again?!! *rips out hair* Why? Why? Why? Qidian and this MC totally just gave us the finger! (￣へ￣)＝凸 No fs given! Not even a popular/hyped novel. Most outrageous thing; Zero food p*rn involved!! Also, it can get a bit crass. If that's your cup of tea, *slow clap* yay for you. ... I'll still read it though.

this novel has been wrongly titled you know.....it should be called the maverick errands boy(coz that's the only thing i've seen him do in the entire novel)

For the people who call this novel trash just because of the title "Maverick Chef" is really a narrow-minded person. You can read in the synopsis that "Bai Lu grew up in a mysterious prison, where he learnt many interesting abilities." He grew up in a PRISON! with different kinds of people that he encountered living there is enough for him to have various skills and logically can include it in the story. A person in real life can have a lot of experience and skills in various things and jobs especially if you're not a well-off person, so don't judge this book if the story is not a proper gourmet novel. This kind of story makes it more interesting because it's not just all about cooking, it also shows the background of MC.

If you are someone who expects a description of all the food being cooked by the chef on a cooking novel, then this one is not for you.. But I personally like this novel as the MC uses his own personal skill and there is no system whatsoever that guides the chef like most of the cooking novels I read.. And he also exhibits other skills aside from cooking which makes this a fresh experience for me.. I have so far enjoyed the eccentric acts of the MC and the people around him.. A real good read for me..

Kind of fun for about 80 chapters, i think. i stopped when i am around 244 in raw. Although the author says MC is a chef, he is more of a thief/ fighter/ racer/ trumpeter/ killer. So it is more of facesmack/ action/ adventure/ drama movie than chef book. Try this one if you want to read about badass MC who owns houses worth over 1 billions / who have a customized car with F1 engine / who kills 23 gang members in chinatown / saint MC who lived with like 4-6 girls but do nothing .

Really misleading title and poor writing the customer asks for lobster so he makes some prawns, the customer taste the prawns it's the best he ever ate, the author know nothing about cooking and can't even describe it tons of cooking novels t instead title should be owner is instead of cook other novels like fire and ice and god of cooking are examples.

Mediocre. It's almost bad with just descriptions and considering this is a cooking movel where descriptions are the most important thing (so you can imagine the food and scenes better) this is incredibly lacking. I'll continue till chapter 100 and if it doesn't get much better this is going to the drop pile.
