Chapter 2 Ray of hope

Ethan Carter was already frustrated for having added to his already tight schedule since it was his assistant who had to interview these candidates but earlier this morning his assistant called and informed him that he could not make it because he wasn't feeling well so he had to do it himself. After all he wanted his secretary to have all credentials therefore he couldn't let the HR department handle the interviews.

What frustrated him the more was that among the candidates he had interviewed so far, he had not yet got what he was looking for. He was now having second thoughts about continuing with the process because it seemed to be wasting his time. Then he called the next candidate Luna Peyton.

He looked up and saw a petite figure coming in. With one eye contact she looked away immediately and never looked at him again which somehow amused him. He looked at her neatly tied blonde hair, sharp nose, pink lips and her slender neck. He then realized what he was doing and immediately composed himself. " Take a seat Miss Luna," he said.

"Good morning sir," Luna greeted after sitting but got no response. ' I guess the rumors about his cold nature are true' she thought. The interview started and as it commenced, the questions asked were tricky and she tried to answer them with the best of her ability. After half an hour the interview came to an end. " Alright Miss Luna, incase you pass, through you will receive a message on your email from the HR. That's all for now," said Ethan and he called in the next candidate. With that, she went back home with a ray of hope that she might get the job and she took a mental note to pray hard for that job opportunity.

Luna reached home and found that her roommate Bella Edwards had already left for work. She worked as a journalist at Golden times broadcasting company and she mainly went to the field for fast hand information.

Exhausted, she sighed and switched on TV then stretched her legs on the couch and she started massaging her sore feet as she watched a programme which was about a famous celebrity Graham Cullen who was a champion in car racing, known world wide and a role model to many. They were talking about the awards he had won and everything about him.

According to the programme, Graham Cullen was a handsome guy who is twenty eight years old now. He was the first born and only son of the Cullens who were one of the most richest and powerful families worldwide. Currently, the Cullens resided in Blue City but had many properties across the globe.

However, he didn't have a good reputation in regards to relationships because he was known to be a play boy who used to bed a lot of women especially socialites.

Luna ejected her attention from the programme and called Bella. On the last ring she picked up, "Hey babe how was it?" "Oh my it was really complicated but finally it got done. Honestly, I'm not so sure about getting this job because the standards seem to be so high so I better begin looking elsewhere," said Luna. " Oh come on I believe you cracked it. And if they don't hire you it's their loss not yours. I got to go Luna I'm in the field and don't you dare skip your meals," said Bella and she hanged up.

Luna entered the kitchen to cook something but realized that they had no grocery. She changed into casual clothes and got her purse then left to the nearest grocery store. She decided to walk there since it wasn't that far from home. After walking for about fifteen minutes, she looked ahead and saw a little one of about two years holding ice cream but what caught her attention was that she was walking towards the busy road and no one seemed to notice it.

She ran towards her as she observed that a truck was coming at a high level of speed. Luna quickly got the girl away from the road

before the truck passed by them at a high speed. She knelt down and looked at the girl who was crying due to the fact that she was startled. "Are you okay?" she asked the girl who looked at her with teary eyes.
