Chapter 5

Romie's pov

That wasn't just a kiss. That was him claiming me with his mouth, sweeping me off my feet completely.

His lips were sweeter than anything I've ever tasted, the sizzling was absolutely overwhelming. It's burning through my veins, adding to the intense nervous anticipation firing up in the pit of my stomach.

I hooked my arms around his neck, never wanting to let him go but then he pulled from my embrace.

Unlocking a new fear I'm totally intoxicated by him. He had all the power over me already.

"Arghh!" he screamed, hitting the closet behind me.

"Get out" he growled.

My head was still in a daze and I was unable to comprehend his order.

"I said get the hell out of here!" he screamed then I rushed out closing the door behind me.

I could only imagine how I looked. My heart raced and the middle of my thighs burned.

My hair was a frenzy mess and my eyes wild, I was dumbfounded.

I felt like I got a taste of heaven, the encounter making me rethink my decision in staying in the pack.

"Well well well look what we have here" someone said, a heavy frown on her face with two girls beside her.

I recognized her, she was the girl Alpha Agi was having sex with by the scornful look on her face she despised me.

"What is she and more importantly why are we wasting our time talking to her" the red hair on her right spoke up.

"She's someone who thinks she's better than us" the girl said walking up to me then pushed my hair to the side revealing the bite marks.

"Ughh!'" they gasped in unison.

"Is that what I think it is?" The dark hair finally spoke and I wished the ground would just swallow me up in that instant.

"Yes she's Agi's new play thing"

"I'm no one's plaything" I countered and the girls burst out laughing.

"Oh darling you're hilarious"

"But I won't stand for this you better leave this pack now while you still can I'm sure he'll dump you sooner or later so I'm saving you the heartache"

If looks could kill her eyes could have scorched through me, the jealousy was clear, desperate, something I didn't need right now.

"Look we all friends here-

"Correction I'm the Queen here you're the pawn"

"If I'm not a threat to you there's no need for me to leave I have no intentions towards your master, plaything or whatever you call him"

"Do I look stupid? So you managed to stumble on those bite marks I don't know what spell you did on him but I got his back and I'll save him from your clutches"

"You are doing way too much for someone who doesn't care about you" I muttered silently the moment the words left my mouth I regretted it.

"How dare you!" she yelled, raising her hand to slap me but I caught it mid air.

She looked stunned then her minions came to her rescue pushing me. I lost my balance then fell on my butt with a thud.

"Today I'll let you go with a warning, leave Agi alone or pay dearly for crossing me" she sneered, stepping on me as they walked past.

"Let me help" a girl gave me her hand. I took it then she helped me to stand.

"You don't want to mess with that trust me" she looked over my shoulder ensuring the demon had gone.

"Thank you" I appreciated dusting the dirt off my jeans.

"I'm Lia," she introduced herself.

"Romie"

"You must be the new girl everyone is whispering about in the maid's quarters" my eyes widened in disbelief. I was supposed to be undercover, not draw attention if someone could recognize me my mission would be over.

"Don't fright they'll eventually look for a new niche to talk about" I nodded, feigning a smile.

"I need to get back to work but it was nice to meet you, don't be on Helena's bad list it never ends well" she trailed off her eyes going dark before she walked away.

She was the least of my problems at this point.

I looked around the hallway trying to make out where to go when Agi's room door flung open.

He walked past me like I didn't exist, my hands brushed my lips remembering the short passionate kiss.

What I wanted those lips to do to me… Focus Romie!

I smacked my head and then followed him hoping he was heading to the exit.

"Alpha alpha" a man ran after him trying to keep up with his fast pace.

"You have a meeting-

"Cancel it" he yelled and like a mind control robot the man paused then rushed to do his bidding.

Curiosity piqued I wondered where he was heading off to.

Only one way to find out I decided to follow him.

He sauntered through the grand bronze doors not looking back once his only focus was his destination in mind.

I followed him carefully knowing the slightest movement could draw his attention.

I wiped the sweat off my face as he followed a path next to a river the deeper we went the more I felt it was an elaborate trap.

He took a left and I followed suit to where a cottage stood.

He knocked twice then a beautiful lady stepped out.

"Agi" she bowed in respect.

"You know why I'm here" his voice strained as he spoke.

"Why don't you step in and we talk" she suggested.

"You hear that?" he questioned, pointing at her.

"You have a healthy heart" 

"I was in good condition before she came into my life tell me how to fix this before I take matters into my hands"

"Who?" She looked intrigued.

"My mate she's the reason I'm mortal I can get killed Lucinda"

"No Agi no weapon can slay you but your mate… she trailed off.
