8 Deja vu

Tiana's point of view:

Lost in my thoughts I was when Aeron decided to speak. "I'll toss a coin only to know what's in the mind of yours."

I rolled my eyes before I answered him. "Then you'll be wasting your coin for nothing!"

My father was nowhere to be seen around me, and to my luck, I was stuck with Aeron.

"After all these years ... you still mad at me?" He asked, and I decided not to answer. Ignoring him seemed to the best thing I could do since I need to keep looking classy and elegant.

"I know you got all rights to be mad at me, and I can get it from your point of view. Yet, you don't seem to see things from my way. That day, the attack was planned by not only werewolves, and we weren't ready. They've had help from someone inside of the palace."

"A traitor?" I cut him off, and he nodded before continuing what he was telling.

"Hopefully … The traitor was caught after that the king decided on taking care of the matter by himself. Still, he had an unknown vampire partner that even he doesn't know a thing about that partner."

"I see, but that doesn't explain what you've done that day. I mean I could've died that day." I was speaking to him honestly.

"Then wait for me to finish!" He was annoyed by me cutting his speech on more than one occasion. I nodded, and he took it as a sign to finish what he was saying.

"That day, there were so many vampires that know nothing about the war, and since I am one of the King warriors, my duty ensures their safety. Besides, the guards had orders to escort you to where the King was, as it was of course one of his direct orders."

"My father orders?" I wondered since I had no idea about this exact information.

"Exactly! you might even ask him if you refuse to believe me."

I instantly felt ashamed out of myself and hated the way I treated him all those years. I mean, he tried more than once to get in touch with me, and I denied all possible ways of meeting him.

"What is it now?" He asked, and I answered him right away.

"Sort of running out of speech."

"Why?" He asked again.

"I feel like acting in a wrong way toward you all these years." Well, I was explaining myself not expecting the sort of reaction I've received from him.

"Then you have to apology!" He simply says.

I was about to snap at him reminding him that royalties do not apologize, as my father told me once. Yet, I'm not that type of person. I did a mistake, and I had to make it up.

"My apologies, I mistreated you, and blamed you for nothing more than being up to your duties."

In somehow, he seemed like not expecting me to apologize. Well, I never apologies to anyone, and never expected myself to do – but here I am.

He was about to say something when someone interrupted us.

"Your highness!" Greeted one of the nobles invited here.

"Sir Orpheus!" I greeted him back with a smile on my face, how to not smile at such glory that was standing before me.

He was a tall man with a very handsome face. hazel eyes that suit well his chocolate skiing. He had the best neckline I've ever witnessed which leads towered his very fine body. His body was another level of beauty, his muscles were neither big neither small – the perfect size.

I was in my world, being off with what was happening around me when Aeron's voice came to my ears.

"I decline!" He exclaimed angrily, which got Orpheus to answer him the same way.

"With all respect, I hold tower a legend like you, but in this matter, you had no right to agree or disagree. It's all up to the Princess." He then turned to face as his tone changed to hold much elegance that suits his appearance. "What your highness thinks about it?"

"About what?" I felt dumbfounded while asking. Aeron left a chuckle that seemed to embrace Orpheus, which earned him a glare from me.

"I do apologize, I was lost in a serious matter, but I would love if you could inlight me with what I messed,"

A smile formed on his face before he decided to speak.

"I was asking you if you would like to join me for a dance."

"I would love to!" I answered him without thinking twice.

He then extended his hand and I accepted it, then he led the way towered the dance floor.

We started dancing together, while Aeron kept watching as from the far. I couldn't hide the fact of enjoying the weird look drawn on Aeron's face.

"So any idea about our future King?" Asked Orpheus, and I didn't like the sound of the question. Still, I did answer while keeping my manners.

"Guess you'll have to wait to know, but it's not going to take too long."

Well, my good manners didn't serve him well as he decided to speak again.

"If you still didn't choose yet, I can assure you that I can be the person you're looking for."

I got angry that I couldn't control myself anymore, so instead of speaking, I stepped on one of his feet's causing him to tremble. Just by then came Aeron then pushed through Orpheus before he talks to him.

"Move!" He ordered him. "Your future King needs a dance with his Queen."

Aeron then looked at me as he was trying to discover if what Aeron told him is true or not, and before he could say anything – I took the hint to speak.

"Guess you don't have to wait for your answer the entire night since you already know who my chosen king is."

"Now move!" Aeron ordered him as he took my hand and swing me around while starting a new dance. While dancing, Aeron decided to speak. Damn, are all men like that? Can't they dance and keep their words to themselves.

"You know? I've never seen someone with a swingy mood like you."

"What do you mean by that?" I answered him using another question, which caused him to chuckle before answering me.

"In a while, you were checking Orpheus, the next while you attacked him." I wanted to deny what he was claiming, the thing was that he was telling the truth.

"Well, I can't deny that he's good-looking. Still, he wasn't my type." I told him honestly, then he asked me again.

"Can I at least know about how's your type?"

"My type is someone who sees me, not the throne over my head," I explain to him simply and honestly. I don't know why, but I felt myself being open for someone for the first ever in my entire life.

As a future queen, I was thought by my father to trust no one but myself. Which of course, caused me to share no secrets with anyone – including the two minions I do have, Lia and Abigale.

Again, out of nowhere – Aeron came up with another question.

"What made you think that I'm not one of those who are only seeking for your throne?"

Again, I found myself being honest with him.

"Well, I don't think… I only follow and do as I'm told."

Aeron was about to say something when his eyes went red. At the same moment, lights went off, and it was dark again. The sort of deja vu feeling I was having from the start of the night was confirmed by the beautiful Lilith scent that found its way toward my nose.

He was here…
