The Ritual

Ava breathed in and out several times to calm down, all these time, her father who she trusted the most had lied to her. She wanted to scream out in rage. 

"So you knew that I am an hybrid and I wasn't a complete wolf? All these years, I thought it was my fault that I couldn't shift. You knew the real reason I couldn't shift and yet you kept quiet and let me fret needlessly." she said to him in a bitter tone. 

Dustin winced at the bitterness in Ava's voice. She must be really heartbroken. 

"Ava, I couldn't tell you the truth. I had to keep it hidden. It's very dangerous. There is no vampire - werewolf hybrid in history. I didn't want to tell you and then risk you telling someone else." Dustin pleaded with Ava. 

"Your mate was Helena right?" Ava asked him. 

Dustin looked at her in shock. "You know Helena?"
