9 A DEAD PAL RETURNS

Axel's pov......

I was devastated, I had lost one of my pack mates and believe me when I say no pain is greater for an Alpha than when he losses one of his pack members but I has to be strong and not breakdown because everyone in my pack looked up to me and if I broke drown then it would be bad. It's been a week since we lost Mark and everyone has managed to move on because there was nothing else we could do even though we wept and hurt our self it was not going to bring Mark back he was gone and gone for good. The result of Mark's death was harder on Sia as she had become lean because she rarely ate or drank anything. No matter what we did or how much we tried she never smiled and she hardly said anything, it really hurt me to see her in that kind of condition. We were all sitted in the main room, Sia's head on Sue's shoulder but no one was saying anything because there was nothing to say we were all still silently mourning our friend. Just then the doorbell rang

"Sylvester go see who that is" I ordered my butler,he opened the door and there stood Selena with a big smile on her face

I put my hands on my head "you know you could have just appeared instead of wasting your time knocking and why are you smiling so sheepishly what havoc did you commit this time"

"I did not do anything wrong and besides if I appeared in the room then I would not have been able to surprise you guys by showing you who I saw". She walked inside and someone walked in with her, I raised my head to see the person and it turned out to be CARY?,I stood up abruptly and the others did the same including Sydney who looked confused. Cary walked toward us and smiled "so who am I hugging first". Jude walked up to him and held his shoulders " you're real man "

"In the flesh brother". Jude hugged him tightly like he was afraid that if he let go Cary was gonna disappear "am so happy you are okay,I missed you so much"

"I missed you too brother". Julia was the next to hug him and he patted her head "you have grown up juli, guess I won't be calling you cupcake anymore". She wiped her tears and smiled "you are only three years older than me so drop it grandpa, I can't believe you are really alive"

"I can't believe am alive too, how long have it been two years"

"It's been three years brother" Hunter said going to hug him "it's nice to have you back Cary"

"Hunter how's it been, is it my eyes or do you have more tattoos on your body"

"It's not your eyes dear,he indeed has more tattoos infact he has a tattoo for every event that has taken place" Sue explained as she kissed him on his cheeks

"Cliché" he studied her "something about you has changed and am trying to figure it out"

"Nothing about me has changed Cary, am still the old Sue you know and love"

He suddenly snapped his fingers "I've got it,you have added a lot of weight and your cheeks are now fluffy". She punched his arm "still kidding around huh"

He pouted then smiled and stretched forth his hands to Alia "ah...ha....I thought you were gonna ignore me"

"I was going to do that but then I changed my mind" she hugged him and then whispered something in his ears, he grinned and nodded "sure thing mamarcita". He walked up to me and bowed majestically like a showman who just gave a good performance "my lord,don't you think I deserve a hug or are you not glad to see me"

I smiled and hugged him "I am glad to see you Cary but how did you survive, they told us you got burnt to death in that explosion"

"Well am alive and didn't die,instead of dying I got saved by a pack of hybrids, they tended to my wounds and nursed me back to health"

I know you are probably wondering who Cary is well he is a nightcrawler and he was also a part of my pack, did I forget to mention that he is Jude's best friend yeah he is. Three years ago, someone set a bomb in the city mall and Cary was assigned with the duty of defusing the bomb well because he was a master in such things,but what we didn't know was that there was another bomb hidden somewhere in the mall,it was a well thought out plan. Lots of lives were lost that day including Cary's, they told us it was impossible for him to have survived the explosion and that he had probably burnt to death but here he was alive and looking healthy.

"Well looks like you've found yourself a new pack, and am sure they have an Alpha who won't send you to your death"

He rolled his eyes "I figured out you would blame yourself for my death but do keep it in mind that it was never your fault and I only belong to one pack Axel that is if you are willing to accept me back"

"You will always be one of us Cary anytime any day"

"Okay then" he sat down and put his hands at the back of his head "so who is the new chick, don't tell me you guys replaced me"

"She's Axel's mate" Selena blurted out and I glared at her. Cary removed his hands from his head and sat up straight looking very confused "what do you mean Axel's mate, is Silvar aware of this and did she approve of it" he looked around the house "by the way where is she, I have not seen her or Mark around since I came". Sia suddenly started crying and Sue excused herself to take Sia upstairs,I exchanged looks with Cary and he immediately got the message as his face saddened "seems like a lot of things happened while I was away". Yeah right a lot of things did happen after we thought he was dead.

He put his hands in his palms and scrubbed his face "when did it happen?how did it happen?". Jude put his hands on his shoulders "how about I take you to your room so you can freshen up and we can talk about it later"

Cary nodded "sure"

Cary stared at Sydney "so the man who killed Silvar is your father and you were a witness to Mark's death" Sydney nodded and he balanced well on his couch "that's bongas babe"

Sydney avoided his eyes and stared at the ground "you probably hate me now and you don't even trust me". He cocked his head and studied her "I don't hate you darling but whether I can trust you or not can only be determined later". Gosh!I simply loved this guy

don't blame me I was observing my siesta,it's great that his back I kinda missed that guy's jokes

Julia frowned "we trust her Cary and you should too,believe me when I say she has not done anything that could make us question her loyalty"

Cary smirked "well Julia I will keep that in mind but as of now I can't trust her cause our vampire princess here is not telling us everything". Julia folded her arms "what do you mean by that"

"Well she is not telling us everything she knows"

"Because you don't trust her doesn't mean you can just accuse her of anything Cary". Cary raised his hands up in an innocent manner " hey don't get mad at me,am just saying what I know"

"If Cary said she's hiding something then I believe him,don't forget he has that gift"

Alia put her arms around Sydney who had suddenly turned white "I trust Sydney a lot and I know that she is not hiding anything from us and even if she was hiding something I believe there is a reason for it. I also believe that Cary is just over exaggerating"

Cary shrugged "well if that's what you guys think then fine". Just then Sue came downstairs with Sia and Sia went to sit beside Cary "am sorry for not hugging you and not welcoming you when you arrived"

He shook his head "it's fine Sia,no hard feelings"

"Am glad you are alive and okay believe me"

"I do believe you and I was told what happened, am really sorry"

"It's fine I just miss him so much" she rested her head on his shoulder and he patted her head "I miss him too,I miss the both of them" then he frowned "I was also told that you hardly eat or drink anything"

"I don't really have the appetite that's all"

"Well that's gonna have to change now am here,one week is all I need and I promise you that you are gonna be so fat it will be difficult to recognize you"

She smiled and he poked her nose "now that's what I've been waiting for,they also told me that you no longer smile and do you know what I told them,I told them that now am back you will never stop smiling and look what I just did". Sia smiled again and hugged him "thank you"

"Anything for you darling". He faced me "so Axel who are we killing,who are our enemies"

"The question is not who is Cary but rather who are our enemies"
