10 Chapter 8
(Octavia's pov)
The next morning, I woke up with a start.
I just had a nightmare about Alpha Mason and what happened that night. I just know he is not going to let this go. I sighed
I grunted and stood up from my bed, rubbing my sleepy eyes I walked down stairs to get a coffee
At least that will clear my head.
Walking down the stairs o heard shuffling which means my parents are awake and mum is probably in the kitchen.
"Good morning mum,good morning dad" I greeted as I reached the kitchen.
"Good morning love,how was your night" dad asked as mum pushed a cup of coffee my way.
I gave her a look of appreciation. By now everyone already knows that I take coffee in the morning before I have a clear head.
"It was okay I guess" I shrugged
"Do you want to talk about what happened to you last night"
I just know that they will not let this go. I really don't want to talk about it,I just know that they did not really buy my story.
"I told you what happened,I don't want to talk about it further, that's it" I sipped my coffee which means end of talk
"So, I heard that the Alpha, Alpha Mason is searching for his mate" my mum announced .
I choked on my coffee
My dad rushed to my side and rubbed my back
"Calm down,easy easy"he rubbed my back. I was shocked at what my mum said. I could not believe that the Alpha will be this fast to look for me. I just hope that nobody knows yet that it's me. And with the look of things it's like my parents does not know.
"Octavia,what's wrong,why did the topic touch you this much" my mum asked
"Nothing mum,it's just that. I can't believe that the Alpha has found his mate, it's shocking really, isn't it"
"Yeah it is. It's actually surprising. I just pity the girl though. He is not a good person to be mated with" my mum sighed
"Wh...a....t. mum what do you mean". I knew what she meant though but I wanted to hear it from her lips.
"You know, he sleeps around,he changes women anyhow. He is not the smiling type,he's rude Octavia"
"What if the person mated to him is close to you" I asked looking at the floor
"Huh Octavia I don't even want to go to that extent I will never let him close to that person trust me" my mum said with venom in her eyes.
I got so scared with the look in her eyes,I cleared my throat
"Olivia stop,you are scaring her" my dad said
"What Matt,am just saying what is in my mind,the truth. She asked me what will I do and I answered her"
"I know but it was so scary even to me"dad smirked
"Oh Matt shut it,what's scary about what I said
My dad was about to answer when we heard a knock on the door.
My heart spiked, it's beating a thousand miles per hour am sure.
I hope it's not Alpha Mason's guards that are here to get me. My dad moved to the door to open it
"Wait stop,dad don't open the door, please" I held him
"What's wrong Octavia" he looked at me with worry in his eyes
"Nothing dad go ahead" I let him go. As he walked to the door I held my breath and silently praying that it's not his guards.
"Ah good morning"....I heard my dad greet someone and the person replied. I had relaxed when I heard the voice was a girls voice and familiar. He stepped aside revealing the person and took a deep breath knowing It was my best friend.
"Good morning octavia's mum" she bowed
My mum laughed "good morning Emily,how are you"
"Am fine"
"What's up Octavia,you look pale"she observed
"Hello there Emily,you are really good at observation" I seethed
"Well I try" she said proudly. The nerve of the girl
"So, parents can I borrow Octavia for sometime I have to talk to her" Emily looked round the room
"Of course you can. You don't have to take permission you know" my dad said smiling
"Great,common Octavia up up. Let's get to your room" as she was saying this,she was dragging me up.
We reached my room, Emily threw me on the bed and ran back to shut the door
"Alright Emily what's the whole fuse about". I rolled my eyes
"Octavia have you gone outside today" she asked me. What a question
"No I haven't,why asking"
"Octavia your picture is all over the place as missing"
"What how" I asked. Bile has already risen to my throat
"And the funny thing is this Octavia. Below the word missing is criminal and below that is mate" she stood in a thinking stance
"What, I don't understand" I was so confused
"I don't either. Its like they are calling you missing but also a criminal and a mate to the Alpha,like a missing criminal mate. It's funny actually" she laughed
"Shut up Emily it's not funny in anyway,it's horrible. Can you imagine my picture everywhere and I bet you they will find me cause people know me. They will be here any minute" I started hyperventilating.
Emily rushed to my side
"Calm down Octavia, maybe it's not that bad"
"It's bad Emily it's bad. I can't see myself with him,he might kill me" I cried
"No he won't Octavia he can't do that. He is your mate,he can't kill his mate remember. Why can't you reject him or he reject you"
"I have already mentioned that to him Emily he won't accept. He says he wants to 'protect his image' as he puts it,so am stuck with him"
"Wait,are your parents going out today" she asked
"Why asking"
"Because of the posters,hello..."
I laughed "no they are not going out today thank goddess"
"Phew"
"You need to hear what my mum said when I asked her if someone close to her was mated to him"
"What did she say" she raised my chin up
"She said she won't allow him to the person" I busted out crying again
"Oh Octavia" she drew me closer and cleaned my tears. We stayed in that position for five minutes in silence till she broke it by saying
"Everything is going to be okay"
She wiped away a stray tear from my eyes
"No it isn't".....
