13 Chapter 13

Bane's wolf wouldn't stop pacing in his mind, the bloody thing was whining about the fact that a whole day had passed since they had last seen their mate. It had only been one day but the creature was acting like it had been a decade.

His human side had a enough patience and control to ignore it during the meeting that he had. It was something that he had gone over a number of times so the presentation of the data didn't require his full attention.

All he was supposed to do was show that the model proved that the business on the right track with the demographic they were aiming for, what it direction it showed them to keep going in and what areas they needed to improve or drop for better growth. He only really needed his attention when it came to answering questions.

He had stop himself from rolling his eyes a number of times. Even though he had done his best to breakdown the information in a such a way that a normal person would be able to understand what he was present. There were still however a number of people who had questions about things he thought were rather self-explanatory. It was no wonder they needed to hire someone to help them out.

Once it was over and he did a bit of after conversation and glad-handing in response to praise and more questions, he was finally able to make it back to his car where he was able to take a deep breath and decompress from that.

"Can you at least try to keep your emotions in check while I'm doing important things?" He asked out loud even though he knew his wolf could hear his thoughts. For Bane though, it was sometime more therapeutic to voice his complaints to the other aloud. The only response he got was an impatient grumble of a growl. It was obvious to him that the other was not going to settle down until he went to go and see Celeste.

And that was how he found himself driving in the direction of the coffee shop without really thinking it through. It was during moments such as these that he really hated the fact that he shared space with a creature that throw it's self-control to the wind when it was either upset or there was something that it wanted.

He even tried to tell the other that he doubted she would still be at work considering it was later in the afternoon. He knew that most of the other staff there only worked half shifts and presumed that Celeste chose hers for the morning only. His animal counterpart of course didn't care and wanted to go and find out anyways. It wasn't like he wouldn't be able to follow her scent if she wasn't there.

Pulling up the front where there was an empty parking spot, he unbuckled and stepped out after making sure that he had put his phone back in his pocket. Bane reasoned with himself that he needed coffee anyways so even if Celeste wasn't there, he would be able to make up for the coffee that he had missed that morning.

He could feel his animal part almost howl in delight when he saw that Celeste was standing behind the counter still. The store at this point looked like it was rather empty as well. Other staff were still working there but not so many customers as the other day.

"Hello Celeste." He greeted her as he came up to the counter. His came out in a smoother and more charming tone than he had intended to. His daft wolf was trying to push itself, daft impatient thing!

Celeste had been looking down at her phone, focused on something else to the point that she hadn't heard the door bell jingle or hear Bane approach. Her head jerked up in a mixture of surprise and shock as she looked up at the man standing in front of her.

He didn't look as casual as the day before, but somehow he was giving of a more charismatic and alluring aura than before. There was even something in his eyes that she could only interpret as desire by the way that he was looking at her with smile that on his face.

"Can I help you?" Celeste asked, shaking her head slightly, as he tried not to blush as she realized that she had been staring at him probably a minute longer than she should've been.

"Yes, can I have some coffee and your company to go with it?" He asked, tilting his head slightly as he tried to get a look at her face as she was looking down while writing down his order. She froze for a second when she heard the last part of what he said.

"No problem. I can have your coffee ready in just five minutes if you'd like to take a seat." She replied, looking up, she gave him a quick polite smile before turning to the other girl who was in charge of getting the orders made what Bane wanted.

Celeste knew that Jen would hate herself when she found out that Bane had stopped by after she had to leave for her own job. It was probably in her best interest to not bring it up to her friend.

She had been expecting the other to take a seat at one of the tables that he had when he came in the other day but was quite surprised when he decided to pick one of the barstools almost directly in front of where she was standing.

What made it more unnerving was the fact that he sat there with his elbows resting on the counter so that his head could rest on his folded hands while he kept his gaze fixed on the girl in front of him. He was shameless staring at her with some type of desire or adoration, she wasn't sure which and didn't seem to care about the fact that others were taking notice of what was going on. Didn't he know the meaning of decorum in these type of situations?
