12 Chapter 12

After waiting almost for two hours, Bane never showed up and Celeste that it was only a matter of time before her impatient friend would be holding her to agreement to coming to the night club with her. Her whole goal had been to avoiding going out a night for as long as possible. With this though, she would be breaking that after not even two weeks.

She didn't even think that there was a way that she could get around it since the coffee shop closed at eight so even if she did work a late shift, she would still be able to accompany Jen. She had three days so maybe there was something else that she would be able to think about in the meantime.

"Did he really come here by now yesterday, are you sure that you weren't just mistaken about the time Lessie?" That was the third time that had her friend had asked this. It was as though she hoped that the other had been mistaken about the time and there was still a chance that she might be able to spot the reserved millionaire coming in for a money cup of coffee.

Jen was one of those people who was rather attractive but slightly immature and spoiled at the same time. She had long brunet hair that she usually kept pinned back with a headband. Her face looked more mature but it didn't mix with her green baby eyes or heart shaped lips that gave her an impression being younger than she actually was. She always wore a pair of jeans and some graphic t-shirt or other paired with baby pink or blue sneakers unless she was working.

"No, it was definitely earlier in the morning than this. Edgar can even confirm it because he said that it was the normal time that the other came in." Celeste replied as she looked over to her manger for some type of support in this situation. She didn't have a different answer from the truth that she knew her friend would be happy with.

"Some days he doesn't come by. It's how his schedule works out that determines if comes for coffee or not. He's certain to back again before the end of the week." The manager tried to sooth the annoyed friend who was now pouting as she sat at one of the high stools near the counter.

For Edgar he found the attention that they were giving Bane to be amusing, to him though he didn't quite understand what he big deal was since the other man didn't act any different from a normal person nor did he try to avoid the public. Thus, unlike with celebrities aside from his money, he didn't see why it was such a disappointment that he hadn't come by for one day.

"You're still coming me with to the club." Jen told her friend as she gave her a side-eye look that told her there was no room for an argument in the matter, that didn't stop her from trying however.

"Can't I do a raincheck and we do something else instead the next day?" Celeste suggested. Even if it wasn't for her nervous concern that she might end up running into werewolves again that brought on her biggest hesitation about going to the club. The truth was, those type of places weren't her favorite to go.

She didn't mind the music or drinks as much as all the people who would gather inside. Most of them were not the type of people she would normally want to mingle with and were rather shameless about what they did or where they would put their hands. Celeste wasn't a fond fan of being touched by people she didn't know.

"No!" Her friend replied firmly.

"You agreed to go to the night club with me if he didn't show up today and that's what we're doing. You need to get out more often anyways." The resolution in her voice told her that Jen wasn't going to budge for anything.

Could she get away with faking being sick? Maybe but the timing would be too off for her friend that she would probably know what she was doing. In which case she would march over to her apartment with the intent of knocking on her door until the other answered it.

"I don't think that I have anything to wear though." Celeste sighed before turning her attention to the next customer who came through the door. Things seemed to be much slower today than they had been the day before.

"Oh that is hardly a concern. I'm pretty sure I have a few things that you can borrow. I think you're also about the same size as my older sister and she is always leaving stuff at my place. I'm sure there would be something you can wear." Jene replied, quickly waving off her friend's concern.

This didn't help to reassure Celeste that much though. She didn't exactly trust her friend to pick out the right kind of outfit for her. Knowing Jen, she would end up wearing something that wasn't quite her style or that didn't fit right. She knew the type of clothes that her friend usually went with during these type of things and they were the exact opposite of what she enjoyed wearing.

In the back of her mind she also knew that it was likely that she would end up becoming a bait in a sense of her friend thought that dressing her up the right way might catch the attention of Bane if he happened to be there Saturday night.

She could already tell that it was going to turn out to be a bad idea and was regretting the fact that she had agreed so nonchalantly to something that she knew she wouldn't enjoy in the first place. She would have to be more careful about this type of thing with her friend in the future.
