1 Time Travel

Emily's POV

"Emily, you need to find your mate, you know this pack needs an alpha when I step down. You don't have much time." My father, the alpha of shadow moon pack sang the song he's been singing since I turned eighteen, which was two months ago.

"Dad I recently turned eighteen, what's the rush? Besides, I'm an alpha what do you mean the pack needs an alpha?" I said as I sharpened my dagger. He's voice softened a little, "Princess, I know you are the best fighter in this pack, and you can make a great alpha, but you know the pack can't accept that."

I stood up, "I am sick and tired of their sexism, I'm your first born so I'm the alpha. If anyone doesn't like that they can kiss my ass, I don't need a mate to take my birth right. I was born to be an alpha not a fucking luna. So, when the elders ask you again about your successor tell them I'm right here." Dad looked helpless, "Fine, but you'll tell them yourself." I smiled then hugged him, "Thanks dad you're the best." He kissed my forehead, "Now go and change they will be here in an hour."

I left my dad's office in a good mood. I hate the fact that packs don't believe in females to be alphas, my dad told me that back in the day she-wolves weren't even allowed to train let alone say a word in a pack meeting. It's like we were just baby popping machines that can cook, clean the house, do the laundry, do the dishes and get fucked by our mates.

That's the worst type of living, so what did they do with the extra energy that I use to fight.

"Someone's in a good mood." A voice I know too well startled me, "Jesus Christ Josh, I'm too young for a heart attack." I said to Josh my best friend and also soon to be betta.

I don't know why, but I noticed that most alphas and bettas are besties. Maybe it's the fact that we literally grow up together in the pack house.

"So what's got you in a good mood." He asked. "I don't know, maybe the fact that I'm going to be an alpha female. Oh, did I mention the first alpha female." He opened his mouth in shock and excitement, "No shit, your dad finally agreed. Emily this is good news." He hugged me. "Do you know how worried I was about having an alpha I know nothing about." "I know right, but hey, don't think I'll take it easy on you because you're my best friend." I said with mock seriousness. 

Then he gave me a golden neckless with a purple germ at the center. I looked at it in confusion, "Okay you will tell me what this is later but right now I have a meeting with the elders." I told him. "Yes alpha." He said with a salute.

In the meeting all the elders looked at me like they wanted me six feet under, they knew that me being in that meeting doesn't mean good news.

The pack elders consisted of, former alphas, gammas, betas and generals. Our current pack elders don't have a former alpha or beta because they are late. But when dad steps down and I take over, he'll become a pack elder as well.

"Okay so I called for this meeting to tell you who's going to be the next alpha of shadow moon pack." My dad said in his alpha tone, his face devoid of any emotions.

There were mummers among the elders, and I could see some of them eying my neck. I know that they are looking for a mate mark, sorry losers I ain't nobody's bitch yet.

My dad cleared his voice making everyone go silent. "I have decided to follow protocol." He said. "But alpha, following protocol will mean passing your alphaship down to your first born." One of the elders said looking at me when he said, 'first born'.

"Of course, do you have a problem with that elder." I asked with an innocent smile plastered on my lips. "We can't have a female alpha." Another one said.

My wolf came forward emitting not even half of her alpha power, but it was enough to make them bare their necks in submission.

"I'm sorry what was that about female and alpha? I don't think I heard that right." They all looked at me in shock. My dad had a look between surprised and proud, it's not normal for a soon to be alpha to emit alpha power before the current alpha steps down.

I personally do not know why or how I'm so powerful, but I am, I heal faster than an alpha and my senses are more enhanced. And besides it's not even normal to have an alpha female.

"Okay we already have a test of my alpha power and that wasn't even half of it. Anyone who doesn't like that can kiss my ass." I stood up.

"What about your mate?" Another one asked. I stopped to think for a while, "He can be the luna for all I care." They all looked like I just said the biggest insult in the world, but I don't give a shit. I looked at all of them, daring them to say something and when they said nothing I walked out.

'Well, that went well.' My wolf Mia said. 'Yah, it did. How did you do that.' I asked. "Do what? The power thing?" She asked. "Yah." I replied. "Dear Emily, we are stronger than you think, I'm still discovering some things.' She said.

After the meeting I went straight to Josh's room chatted a little then I went to my own room took a shower and wore my shorts and tank top.

I looked at the neckless Josh gave me, he said it's something to shield me from my mate. I can find my mate, but my mate can't find me. It's perfect! This way I can decide whether I want my mate or not. I put it on and went to sleep.

I was woken up by a slight breeze on my face.

Wait, a slight breeze?

I remember closing my window last night. 'Something isn't right.' Mia said. For real something wasn't right, my room smells like vanilla but right now the scent filling my nose is dirt and grass.

I slowly opened my eyes and blinked a few times to adjust to the light.

"What the fuck?"

Was the first thing I said when I looked around.

I was sleeping on the ground under a tree, nothing around me looked familiar, I took a deep breath, but nothing smelt like home. 'Mia where are we." I asked hoping my wolf would at least know the place.

'I don't know, but I know we are not on pack lands.' she said.
