32 Found

(Ace)

Following Alexis's scent grew a little harder, she must have figured out a way to cover it, though that would not stop him. Ace was Lord of Tartarean for a reason, he was one of the best trackers in the world, finding a little Beta going into heat would be a pie job. The real issue would be what to do with her when he did find her. Every instinct in him wanted to tear into her for disobeying his order to stay put. Ace's wolf was going crazy, worried that he would not find her intime, angry that she had left him, and possessive over the fact that his mate was going through heat and not around him. The women in their estrous cycles usually liked to stay close to their mates, they made them feel safe in a time of their lives that they were at their most vulnerable. It might have something to do with the fact that he had not marked her yet, that connection might not be as strong on her side until he did. As the Lord over the region, it was his duty to wait till the Bonding of Soul's Ceremony, before claiming her in front of everyone. With his wolf all tore up, that was an obligation he did not know if he could uphold.

Ace tore though the woods, his wolfs mind was zeroed in on Alex, while his human mind wondered a bit. There were so many things that he needed to explain to her but how could he do that if he could not trust her? Trust was hard thing to earn and even harder to get back once lost. Ace had trusted her to stay inside the room and she had run away the first chance she got. Could he really blame her? Because of him she had been put in harms way and that was not likely to change anytime soon or at all. Being the Luna to a whole region, not to mention to another realm entirely, that she did not even know existed would never be easy. They would constantly be in danger and if they brought children into the world, their kids would be in danger. Ace slowed down a little, should he let her go? It was an agonizing thought, that after so many years of waiting for his mate, that he would willingly let her leave but in the long run…wouldn't it be better that she was save, even if that were not with him?

Alexis was heading out of Alpha Territory, probably back home, she was almost there. Ace could hang back and make sure that she reached the Beta village safely, and then disappear. The smell of wild dog hit his senses making Ace stiffen, sniffing the air, his heart pounded. A lone Alpha wolf was out, the heavy mixture of fear and testosterone hung in the air like a foreboding fog. "Fuck." Ace let out but his wolf was already on it, his paws beat against the icy ground, as he left a flurry of snow in his tracks. Blood, the coppery tang of blood filled his nostrils, a growl of pure rage immitted from his chest. By the Gods if Alexis were hurt, death would be too much of a reward for this Alpha bitch, Ace thought to himself. The scents were mingling up ahead and Ace willed himself to be strategic about what his next move was. Dragging his belly against the smooth cool dirt, he inched himself closer, seeing the two wolves in front of him.

Every time he seen Alexis wolf, it made his heart thump in his chest, she was a sight to be seen. The pure white of her fur was magnificent and so contrast to his dark black. They made quite the pair standing side by side one another, though at that instant, her white pelt was marred by red. A boiling rage simmered under his skin, his woman was hurt, but holding her own. The Alpha wolf that corned her was impressive in size, using his weight against her, but still she tried her best to maneuver around him. To find that one opening that she could use to try and run away. Little did she know that was exactly what the other wolf wanted, for her to run, so that the thrill of chasing her down and taking her would be more exciting. All Alpha's liked the thrill of the chase, it made the conquest all the sweeter, the fight was their foreplay. Ace would be damned if he would let it get that far but from what he could see nothing had progressed passed the initial blow.

This Alpha had taken Alex by surprise, wounding her slightly, so that her escape would be slowed. The shedding of blood making it easier to track her down, if she did get away faster then he would have liked. It was all a game, one that she would eventually be the loser of, but he admired her spirit. If Ace had not come along when he did, then she would have fought hard, his little wolf. The Alpha snapped at Alex making her back up slightly, which resulted in her losing her footing. One slip and it was over, her hind leg slid down the riverbank, she tried to regain her footing, but it was no use. Alex was clawing at mud in vain but ended up splashing into the icy current. The force from the water had her fighting to stay upright, her paws searching for something to gain leverage, she was being carried away. Ace jumped out of the brush he had been hiding in, his hulking body darting into the cold rush of water. Surprise at Ace's presence the Alpha wolf stepped back a pace but did not leave. Ace's mind was focused on Alex, swimming down the river, he no longer seen her. Fear flooded his heart; she must have gone under.
